Play fighting games.
Play fighting games
I already have.
None of the ones on the market interest me. It's all either anime combo madness or ugly 3d
I miss Virtua Fighter.
How do I get better at unist.
>meanwhile in yakuza exists the only ps4 port of virtua fighter
I want to but none of my friends play them and I don't like online with strangers. I wish I could find somebody to buddy up with on Yas Forums in SF or something like gym partners, I also dislike discord groups full of gatekeepers
practice. look up combo videos.
Abuse chain shift
Sure. Which one?
Play SC6
Gatekeeping is a necessity in order to facilitate a high level of discourse.
And then you wonder why your genre is dying. Real big brain move. Capitulating to normies is a no-no but if the person is willing, able and well read then what is the harm in showing them the ropes? Who will keep this shit alive after all the old dogs die? Where is the new generation?
Post Yoshimitsu gameplay.
>Capitulating to normies is a no-no
Are you the actual urienfag that posts here?
I play old school poverty fighters on fightcade, nothing modern has caught my eye. Every time I try a modern fighter I just go back and find an older iteration that is more interesting, happened with SF and SamSho. Might get granblue though.
Nothing is stopping normalfags from learning the genre, why should it cater to them. Normalfags can't stand the idea of staying dedicated to things for more then maybe three months, they naturally are repelled by the genre.
>only fightan i ever really invested in was Soul Calibur and not even in-depth
>only just figured out how to do a shoryuken semi-consistently a few weeks ago in Street Fighter
We're reaching based levels not previously thought possible
What are some good tips for improving at any fighting game?
Holy mother of based.
>mfw fighting tuesday got killed by corona-chan
sheeeeeit
that was the only place we even saw jap players
did that nigga really hold down the A *and* B buttons for the first 30 seconds and use only kicks
Practice.
play reall niggas not computer niggas
You will suck for a long time, maybe years, until you feel that "chosen one" status. Just keep at it and grind out matches, play the game and have fun.
>Normalfags can't stand the idea of staying dedicated to things for more then maybe three months, they naturally are repelled by the genre.
I think that's their point. The nature of fighting games themselves will weed out anybody who's not willing to put in the time and effort, so doubling down on that by being a gatekeeping elitist is retarded.
>so doubling down on that by being a gatekeeping elitist is smart.
ftfy
Players don't gatekeep people genuinely interested, we gatekeep idiots who watch streamers and think they are part of the genre.Idiots who think people like Max and Aris actually have good opinions on how the gnere should move forward and think shitposting on r/kappa means they're part of the genre. For people who are fine with the commitment they just play and nothing is wrong with that.
Tekken 7 or SoulCalibur VI?
Fartcade shit the bed. it already doesn't work on windows 8/10 but now ping is invisible all the time and connections are shit. All the lazy faggots won't move over to GGPO red and shit, and only autistic shitters still play OE.
>Players don't gatekeep people genuinely interested
We do if they are retarded. Some people are just NGMI and you can tell by their natural instincts.
granblue versus is both gorgeous and has modest combos. check it out
SC6
I already do and I'm amazing :D
They're too different to directly compare like that. Go for the most aesthetically pleasing to you, but if you're worried about the playerbase then I recommend Tekken since it has a lot more players.
ggpo red is in beta man, people are moving in slowly.
>Why yes, I do main Ibuki. What gave it away?
isn't that based off mobage?
Clayton chapman exposed the weeb FGC
yeah, that's the one
Best waifu, kinda shit in 3S, lots of crossups.
Play as often as you can, an hour or two daily at least. Watch videos of good players, ask questions, try to focus on learning something new when you play.
Redpill me on powerline adapters or alternative ways to get an ethernet port a separate floor away from where the router is
is tekken 7 the street fighter 4 of this gen? I know a bunch of normalfags who only play tekken 7 and wouldn't touch any other fighters
Just drill some holes and run some cables you fucking casual
Why can't you move the router?
Practice isn't as good advice as much as "play often" is like recommends. Also don't fucking mash buttons like a chimp. You wouldn't do that in an fps or rts so don't do it in fightan. You should know what your buttons are going to do before you press them. Also learn to antiair
But I do
Yesterday I made a thread about how I like to help people struggling in SFV, Rookies and Bronzes in particular. Gatekeeping a freaking fighting game is lame as fuck.
How did Street Fighter go from being fast and intense like this to being ultra slow in Street Fighter 5?
I have more things connected to the router where it is. Desktops consoles and tvs are connected in that room and it would just be a laptop in the room I need an extra connection.
sf3 was the ugly duckling of the series. Don't let them fool you. It was pretty much universally hated and was a big reason FGs pretty much died for like 10 years
Practice, watch your replays and if you're getting fucked by a way a opponent character plays, hit up training mode and figure out how they tick and how to punish it. If you're practicing your combos, it's fine to lose some games if you're focused on landing it and finding chances to do it. The practice you get actually landing it under pressure outside of training mode more important.
Additionally try to play when you're in a good focused mood. If you start getting tilted or fustrated while losing, take a break, do something else that calms you.
I should get back into UNIST, probably will do so when the clr update comes out for PC, seems like a good time to get back into it.
Every SF game is different, every game has had a different style. You migh be the only person who thinks SFV is too slow, everyone complains offensive options are too strong.
play wagner
Maybe get a second router.
I unironically like playing with my friends and helping each other get better. It's a comfy kind of feeling when everyone is actively getting better and don't mind when they lose since it's a chance to learn.
>He didn't play SFIV
NRS games are usually the normie catcher. You should be so lucky to know normalfags playing tekken
you do realize SF4 revitalized the FGC and is single-handedly the reason the FGC as we know it exists today right
also my point was that was p much the only SF to ever play like that, and it wasn't well received.
Play Melty Blood.
so what's the verdict on granblue vs?
Every fighter has a neutral, every match starts spaced away from each other. Know your normals before getting familiar with your specials, and how they individually control that space
I just played HFTF, skullgirls and then usf4 with a friend.
That's Under Night though.
I have no friends so I let the CPUs kick my ass in MvC2
It's fun. Don't let anyone tell you the dub is bad except percival mains.
Surprisingly fun but I don't know why. The best thing is that there are no bullshit comeback mechanics like sparking blast or x factor or dark phoeniz
This might sound gay, but try to play when you're in a good, calm/focused mood. You will learn better and perform better if you're in a good mood due to some psychological shit. Save replays of matches and review them if you found that you were struggling with something.
If you start getting tilted and salty after losing, take a break, do something that makes you relax. It's fine to only play for 1-2 hours, enjoy it and take a break than it is to force yourself to play for like 4-5 hours being mad that you're on a losing streak. Avoid the temptation of trying to "redeem" yourself if you lose 2-4 games in a row and only finish playing when you win.
this combo is obnoxiously long
and they told me the Eltnum jav wasn't real
wrong, I feel like I have that status and it only results in me getting angry when I lose to cheese. I lose to cheese all the time because my strategy is about perfecting the tactics I think are the best, not playing unpredictably
Play Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2. Probably my favorite modern capcom fighter
define cheese
>Gatekeeping a freaking fighting game is lame as fuck.
Wrong. It's a necessity.
>I lose to cheese all the time because my strategy is about perfecting the tactics I think are the best
Who are you to know what is best? Being unpredictable is important, being predictable is the easiest way to allow your opponent to download you.
Wait a minute
Is Darkstalker 3 a meme or legit?
If my opponent keeps doing something because I fall for it. They need to learn to play with honor.
i swapped to stick and am having a hard time adjusting
>He fell for the stick meme
oh so this was just a troll post. got it
Takes a few days of getting used to. Just keep playing, it'll start to feel comfortable.
Man I love Kyo Kusanagi! His desing is awesome!
