I think I know why Brisby is such an appealing character, the first thing that happens in the movie is dealing with that doctor mouse who is rude to her. He obviously doesn't give a damn about her status as a recent widow or her sick son. Still Brisby remains respectful of the dude who has the medicine to save her very offspring. Then she meets that crow who is irritating and despite being a frustrating idiot? She doesn't try to insult him not even when he steps on her tail. She has her priorities straight and getting angry at others isn't good conduct.

Those were NOT good either. They were literally a rip off the Rescuers book series where the rats help humans in need. Pure nonsense. And not even written by the original author. It was his daughter who wrote those.
