Without mods it's an irredeemable mess, but with mods it turns into a neat looter shooter with lots of gun customization and some town building. The story is absolute shit though, there's really no fixing that.

It's a looter shooter, a fun one when you play it for the first time and you haven't played Fallout before.
It was my first Fallout game, it got me into the series (Which i played backwards for some reason, now FO2 is my favorite one). I guess that having played it i'm glad that the combat was improved
Story is just bad. It doesn't feel original, it just feels like a bunch of sci-fi tropes sticked together
