Alright, there's been a lot of talk about Doom Eternal, but what about the battle mode?

As far as multiplayer goes, I'm more excited about being able to invade other people's campaigns.

I'm going to give Battlemode a solid attempt, and see how i feel about it in a week. Hopefully Im not disappointment. I really hope down the line they add traditional Deathmatch, Doom without it just seems wrong. Invasion sounds like fun.

Who is this mode for?
If you just want to play as a demon youre not gonna last since the demons are like dota heroes.

All i want is normal arena Deathmatch, not some Left4Dead shit

Retarded shit, one of those weird ass online modes in games from ps3 era.
Huge step back form 2016 where multiplayer was really good, but sadly lack of any server settings and inability to set up your own servers killed that games mode.

Hugo has really doubled down on Battle Mode being your only multiplayer gamemode, I doubt we’re ever getting it

I’m so happy that multiplayer is a separate download this time on consoles, unlike in 2016. I can’t wait for the single player, the pre-release videos have made it clear for me it’s very likely to become one of my favorite FPS games ever, but I’m not touching that multiplayer, it looks the opposite of fun to me.

you can thank the people that acted like Doom 2016’s multiplayer was the worst thing possible, when it was actually just as comfy as any other fast paced deathmatch. It was blasted for not being “innovative” enough. Fuck that and fuck the battle mode fags who removed dev time from the single player. I’d rather they just make a fully single player game if they’re not having at least a deathmatch mode.

I bought standard cause it has most of the interesting pre-order stuff (Doom 64, cultist base master level, shotgun skin) available at launch. Deluxe only has a dumb doomguy skin and classic weapon sounds which I don’t care for at launch. I’ll probably get the season pass when single player DLC 1 drops, though.

Multiplayer's usually not my thing. I'll probably enable Invasions and Empowered Demons for singleplayer and that's about it.

Something tells me 2v1 "multi"player is just gonna end up a sweatfest where the Slayers exclusively use the scoped heavy rifle, super shotgun and ballista to delete player demons' health.

Playing 2016 I am constantly bored. I want to like it but it just feels really slow. There's too few monsters on the screen, and all the fights just get extremely repetitive.

He still grunts and has heavy breathing at low health, not to mention he also has a sentence of voiced dialogue
