Even the best players max out at B1 in placements so you get a lot of gods moving up over your flattened potato body

You're doing it wrong, ranked is garbage.
Play in lobbies so you can play the same people more than just 2/3 sets and actually learn something.
Especially now before the player base drops off a cliff.

I too am trapped in B ranks. I can stomp Cs ez but fights against Bs I don't have the consistency I need.

Bigger number is worse, you go from 5 to 1 then up to the next letter grade 5. I don't know if it goes higher than SS, that is the highest I've played against.

I got B 1 with Ladiva but I can't beat A tier characters it's so hard when they have good neutral and pressure. so I always get sent back

Liek most grapplers you have to guess if he's gonna grab you or try and hit you with a frametrap, jump, low. The game doesn't really have a lot of defensive options

What do Metera players feel?

I seriously question most of these combos purely due to the fact she has nothing in the way of pressure/mixups without her specials. If she uses ex versions of said special in combo extensions, the following oki situation is heavily in opponents favor and thats just so shit.

>ex mist finer
>ex 3 hit combo
all of these are literally 80% she's got to apply pressure and mixups. The 20% of the rest is the command dash that crosses up and maybe sometimes ex DP to catch people mashing on your pressure.

If it doesnt kill, I really can't see how its worth it for her. Really hoping April patch does something about this.

is the delay netcode bad a meme or something? i have been playing on pc now these past few days and its perfect. 1 - 3 frames delay most of the time and even a 5 - 8 delay game i had toda was fine and way better than in most other games i have played. i guess the low input lag on pc with vsynch off etc. does wonders here for it feeling good?

I've played with people from Korea before on GGPO and it didn't have any noticeable lag. You're not gonna do that on delay.

is the timing for stopping grabs typically reading your opponent or reacting to the animation? If it's the latter, that's some fast fingers some of you have.

Yes. Raw grab would whiff and lose to wakeup normal from opponent, that's why people do tick throws.

Bars are also wonky, I had few ranked notifications with 0 bars which would instantly jump to all green, but people already canceled.
You can late-tech on reaction most of the time, but with grabs it's usually prediction and reading your opponent.

It's partially a meme, but if everyone used ethernet you'd remove about 80% of the people complaining about netcode, aside from over long distances.

I'll add to it, there are ways to grab people on wakeup, but you need to throw someone off and make them respect. Like for example, if someone focuses on Ferry's GG too hard you can delay it's detonation and go for a throw instead. Basically you got to force respect.

This. I'll never understand why people would argue with superiority of ethernet and defend their wi-fi. Just plug in a cable.
There ae some players who will never respect, their flowcharty gameplay is just too autopilot. Against these people you just need to crack the code and see through their autopilot scripts.
