It doesn't really do anything better than others. Cool, unique moveset that works both close and long range, pretty good dash attack and he gets a cool-ass bandage on his cheek.

I haven't played since Adeleine and Ribbon were added, but them, Marx, and Gooey were the most fun.

I should really replay star allies I didn't like it as much as the 3ds games but all the playable characters was really cool

All the one-use abilities and it, yes. Crash, Paint, Light, etc are really lame

I think I liked it more than the 3DS games because it was the most polished. To me, the 4 RtDL-style games are like the 4 NSMB games.

Still one of the better weapons for dealing damage, but if we're talking recent games, it got outclassed by Stone and Archer for their severely broken mechanics involving i-frames. But they were both mind-numbingly boring movesets so Hammer is still a preference.

Hammer has strong damage, but it isn't the most damaging. Suplex tied it in Super, and since then we've gotten Leaf, Archer, and buffs to abilities like Bomb, Cutter, Ninja, Parasol, and Beam that put them on par with Hammer overall.

You'll like Taranza if you liked the Spider ability. Suzie was probably the weakest entry for me, but still fun in her own right withe whole Mech thing. Magolor is the Broken Egg that fucks the True Arena.

Maybe I'll play it more after Animal Crossing comes out. I already beat Soul Melter, and did most of the puzzles.

Usually I like to let Kirby sit, though. It's more fun if you haven't done it in a while

It doesn't help that Hammer got nerfed mechanically in Star Allies. From what I can tell, reduced i-frames on some attacks and and the uppercut was reduced to a charged attack.

Yeah, hammer definitely got nerfed, but it hasn't been the best for a while. In RtDL, Leaf was the best option for any challenge. The uppercut did absurd damage, it had the best shield in the game, and you even had a ranged attack, albeit a weaker one. Not to mention the uppercut is the perfect height to hit most bosses, like the dragons.

Right there with ya brother. It's probably my favorite series next to MonHun, but there's only so much to do with little replay value. Thinking about getting back in after like seven months not playing.

Considering Star Allies came out so early in the Switch's life span, it's possible we might get another Kirby by the end of the console's life span. I doubt it, but I'll probably replay Star Allies when the Switch is on its deathbed.

It's a fun game, and I enjoyed my 30 or so playthroughs of it with each ability, but I'm kinda worn down. And besides, I still do a yearly playthrough of Milkyway Wishes inbetween Pokemon/MonHun/Xenoblade playthroughs.

Is Star Allies worth buying after all the updates now?

I had a lot of fun with Leaf back in RtDL and PR, so I didn't really care that it outclassed nearly everything.
At least it wasn't like fucking Archer.

the only thing that changed was that there's a new, actually challenging mode and a new setting in the ultimate choice. i'd say it's kinda worth it, but the story mode is still a bit of a slog, especially on your own.

I think there's no doubt whatsoever we'll get another Kirby game. We know they're working on the next one, and they even implied the next game would go in a new direction. What that would be is anyone's guess, but I still think there's a good chance it could be the first full 3D game with all the experimenting they've been doing.

A reminder that using 4 mage sisters and saying you beat Toughest Choice makes you a coward.

You do that shit on Dreamland rules.

I decided to play until I finished all the artwork puzzles that last one will tug at your heartstrings, man. After that fucked around in Ultimate Choice with some buddies who don't really play Kirby and lost my shit when they reacted to the later bosses. Other than that, I'm not really starved for Kirby content since I also sometimes do SKC with them.

There's literally nothing better than Jet. Get the fuck out of here with your garbage options, Jet does everything. It's speed, it's a fire source, it's finely controlled flight, it's godlike damage with quick charge time, and it will gib bosses if they spit out a grabbable object because the Shuttle Loop throw will hit them more than once and send the object bouncing through them for massive damage. The only time to switch from it is if you absolutely need to hammer a peg or cut a string to continue someplace.
