This game just never ends does it

This game just never ends does it.

That’s not a compliment

The best final fantasy story in decades.

It’s full of stupid twists and filler to keep it going another 50 hours

>stupid twists
Such as?

DUUUUDE THE BAD PRIEST IS ACTUALLY AYMERICS DAD
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE

that doesn't really progress the plot, it's more of an convenient revelation so we're not stuck in another war for succession in a foreign country

story doesn't ever get better, might as well drop it now
you are going to fucking HATE Stormblood, the worst expac by far.

gameplay gets better, you get the Rabanastre Raid in Stormblood, only a retard would stop beforing playing that.

So, the WoL can't really die, right?

Attached: 1583917437104.gif (520x520, 413.85K)

Is yoshi p ever going to let this fucking zone die? This fucking cancer has been reworked 3 times and it's still fucking trash. Why are they so intent to keep reworking this when every other piece of shit content gets abandoned after the patch is done

Attached: hw-ol-thediadem.jpg (695x391, 123.35K)

I don't think so, it would be neat to have an ending where you watch all your friends die

shut up and gather in it

same reason shitreka is still in the game, it's a garbage game designed by a braindead gook who hasn't had a single good idea ever

actually my main gripe with FFXIV is that it's the only MMO that can effectively be beaten

I'm currently botting the nodes but I'm still fucking mad about it

>Be me
>200 hours in
>Not even halfway through Stormblood
>And this is AFTER the EXP redistribution to get everyone to Shadowbringers

>Everyone playing is like "Yeah bro, 200 hours is nothing! I put in 2000 hours, and I barely touch the game!"

Yeah, nah. Fuck it. I like lengthy JRPGs, and FFXIV is one of the better MMOs I've played, but there just aren't enough hours in the day, man. Not enough hours in my goddamn life

absolutely fucking seething

>LET'S KILL OFF THE UL'DAH LEADER And then she gets better

Get back to MSQ grinding sprouty!

Attached: 42389407177.jpg (450x320, 28.19K)

if you count completing the msq as "beaten" then sure. but I don't consider that beaten until you have 80 in every job, beaten every instance in the game, and so forth.

Yda isn't actually Yda but her infinitely more annoying sister!

It will never diedamn

>based papa died and not this annoying cunt

Next you’ll try to say you’ve played other Final Fantasy games.

Not that user but I've played every single mainline numbered FF and story/characters have never been a strong point of the series. I'd not consider a single one of them to be up there with the best RPG's in terms of plot. None of them

Saying that, Shadowbringer's base 5.0 plot was some of the most I've ever enjoyed a FF plot. If it's not the best in the series then I'm not sure what would be

If you honestly thought Stormbringer was better than every single FF game then you’re an obvious mmotard

>raid static still on E5S
>if we don't fuck up on mechanics we hit hard enrage at the last few percent of health
>got it down to

Attached: 1574016079014.png (255x253, 5.15K)

It’s not you, well actually it is but it’s not really your fault. Losing uptime on the chicken sucks but there’s not much you can do expect play it safe. It’s not really the tanks job to maintain 100% uptime though and usually a 1% wipe isn’t really a tanks fault. Sounds like a lot of your dps and just fucking around. Ramuh’s check is really easy especially if your whole raid is popping pots and knows how to do buff windows. Post a fflog I want to look at your raidwide dps

DUUUUUUUUUUUUDE THE KATANA GUY WITH BIG ASS ISNT ACTUALLY DEAD???
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE

Shouldn't you be happy that a fun game lasts long?
Or is it not fun?

The recent stuff with the story is great but the devs should really work on making ARR into a 10-20 hour quest series instead of a 200 hour grindfest. Makes it extremely hard to get new players into the game because of how awful the leveling experience is. It's far worse than leveling in any other mmo, including fucking Runescape.

Hitting enrage means your dps are shit, it has nothing to do with tanking

...

Is it worth picking up as a brand new player?

If you want a solo final fantasy game, then yes the story is good after a while. If you want an mmo, then play literally any other mmo over this. Its not an mmo, and I don't understand why they try to push it as a WoW clone when its very far off.

I got halfway through Heavensward and decided to stop. The story and combat weren't doing anything for me and I only stuck with the game for that long just to spend time with friends.

it's an MMO, that's the literal point

I got into it just before Shadowbringers dropped and although the excitement has gone down, I still enjoyed my journey through it and do play regularly. I would definitely try the trial, and if you do decide to get into it join an FC if you can.

>static can't beat e5s

No.
You are a collective of fuckups

How haven't you beaten e5s yet? HOW MANY OF YOU DIE EVERY TRY?

>hard enrage on a few percent of health
someone isn't using food

You mean the worst 24-man raid in a game where 24-man raids are mostly a dull slog and never worth doing more than once? Try a real raid sometime.

>Its not an mmo
but it forces you to do group content

Shut the fuck up raidtranny, RTI is the best set of 24-mans in the game.

it does force mmo elements, but compare the gameplay loop of GW2/WoW to XIV. Most of the gameplay of XIV is focused around story content, if you do not enjoy the story and just want a purebred mmo, then WoW is much closer to that. XIV is in a weird middleground, and while that's not necessarily an awful thing it definitely doesn't have the same endgame goals or replay-ability as WoW. Also whoever is in charge of the PvP should be fired immediately.

On the enrages, probably one or two, although I'm sure we've had ones where nobody died. We do wipe to mechanics a fair bit though, usually after something small goes wrong and has a knock on effect on everything else.

>when you find out someone uploaded a Ruby EX log of your PLD and it was a purple parse

Ohhhh
gaaaawddd
Iwasn't even potting

Attached: 1422208519770.png (256x256, 85.84K)

Yeah everytime you die toa mechanic, that's a 2k dps loss for the fight in total. Die enough, and well

>Most of the gameplay of XIV is focused around story content
It's no different from WoW. You go through leveling in questing and then at endgame you hamsterwheel gear from raids, collect whatever currency in daily activities and maybe pvp. Shit, even WoW has a main story now that you HAVE to do, even at the cap, to unlock new features.

How do I let my static down I'm quitting? I'm part of the core members so this is going to be a huge blow but god damn I'm so burnt out I wanna do other things on my days other than grind e7s

>in a static
>still haven't beaten e5s
>don't understand what your issues are
I can guarantee at least 2 of your dps are below 10k dps and need to be kicked

Long games are great!
I'd just also like to be able to play *other* long games before the heat death of the universe, and not feel guilty that I'm neglecting my FC

If you're in a HC static and haven't beaten e8s yet you need to call them all shitters and then blacklist everyone in the party

Unironically e5s-e7s are all clearable with 3-8 deaths (if 3+ deaths, healer lb) if the players all keep their gcd rolling.

My group cleared week 1 and we were far ahead of enrage on e5s, had 5-6 deaths on e6s and beat enrage by 5-10 seconds, and didn't see the enrage cast with a healer lb3 ressing 6 people on e7s.

It's not even an issue of food/pot/gear like some of the other posts are saying, you have multiple people that are literally afk during the fight. The only "difficult" dps check was shiva during week 1.

Midcore and that's a little harsh bro.

That's the point of an MMO user

Content keeps going until its no longer profitable

WoW story from 1-120 is ~50-60 hours. If you have no heirlooms, probably ~90 hours. To go from start of ARR to ShB, we're talking like ~300+ hours of grind. For people who just want to clear dungeons, get loot, and look cool with their gear XIV is a horrible idea. In WoW, the endgame content is raids, pvp, and pushing mythics, and Blizzard knows this because they give you a free 120 boost with BFA. They want you to experience the endgame content because that's all the matters. In XIV once you go through the story, sure you have raids but that's about it.

Why are you doing e7s all day in a MC static

3 hours a day 3x a week. It's still takes a toll.

Those thing were hinted at very early though. We knew a sleeping potion that was used on Sultana existed since 1.0. Thancred even hinted at yda not being yda.Hydaelyn being a primal was a given

>grind e7s
i understand that some people mightve had problems with it in blind prog
but when the guides are out, when u already know the trick for meme portals, how the fuck do you not kill it in 2 hours?

>To go from start of ARR to ShB, we're talking like ~300+ hours of grind
I did it in 80 skipping cutscenes. Obviously XIV leveling campaign is padded to fuck and back, that doesn't change that the core loop is the same.
>In XIV once you go through the story, sure you have raids but that's about it.
Implying XIV doesn't have PVP and other activities you do at endgame? Come on son, even in patch notes "story" content takes up like 1% of the length.

Just tell them like it is. Post in your discord or whatever chatroom you're using "Sorry guys, I'll be no longer showing up for raids because [I want to take a break and enjoy other games/I can no longer commit to a schedule/I no longer enjoy myself in our circumstances/My goals and goals of this group no longer align]". If they're not turbospergs they'll understand and will have to get over it. If they are well, you're better off without them anyway.

Funny you mention GW2 when most of its endgame raiders jumped to either WoW or XIV because Fractals were being completely ignored by the team

This post is actual zoomer shitposting. WoW is a garbage MMO precisely because of efficiencytards rushing through all the content. You destroy your soul rushing to 120 then you just spend your time doing weekly raids and spamming dungeons to gear treadmill.
The journey is part of the adventure.

How are you stuck on a fight easier than extreme primals

There will be an ARR squish in 5.3, so early june people will no longer have to do 50 fetch quests for some cheese and wine

screw llya strat never ever gonna clear this as long as retards keep using this toilet strat fuck you all

How do you get good? Everyone says XIV is babymode and the easiest game ever made but I guess I must be shit because I'm struggling

How the heck do you focus on both your hotbar, buffs and debuffs, and whatever the fuck is going on? This is like a multitasking nightmare and I've never been good at multitasking. I play DNC and the job is easy enough, but like half the toolkit is random procs that my eyes are glued to and it's hard not to just tune everything else out and get hit by shit I didn't even see. I just started Eden today and while I thought I was doing alright before it's now plainly obvious I'm staring at my hotbar too much to notice other things

>all these shitters getting filtered
Holy based. Wasn't this savage tier designed by a new team? They deserve a promotion.

Attached: 1554061910037.jpg (687x515, 141.34K)

how the fuck haven't you cleared it by now

Is it possible to do all 200 floors of PotD solo? Do you have to use a specific job?
