I remember being 7 years old and playing it together with my parents in their bed. We were poor shits and had small 10 inch tv and I slept on a couch in their bedroom. ;_;

for me it was tiny toon adventures

No the big secret and correct answer is that soul is when you use your imagination with the videogames, or when videogames used to force you to use your imagination, you know, to read dialogue, to interpret the graphical illusion designers make, and such, but now technology can do all this for you and this is why things feel so empty now, because theres nowhere for your imagination, your mind to participate in, nothing much to build your mind, to imagine, as you most likely did as a child, which is actually quite a constructive mental exercise for good games

oh this guy got it before me

i always hated how most gen five games handled water, desu. i spent about two weeks on the water physics in my platformer (both above and underwater), getting it exactly how i always wanted it to be when i was a kid playing these games. i'm gonna post my demo in a dev thread in a few months if you fags are interested.

it's called vertex painting.

Are there any chill games like that in English besides the 3ds game?

why did you post noctis

Motherfucking Vagrant Story is so pretty.

Yes.

I remember it having really good atmospheric music for what is supposed to be a goofy looney tunes game.

Soul basically just means 6th gen game.

Wow you'll post it in a few months?! Oh man I better mark my calendar!

That Wizard of Oz JRPG isn't the best example because there's like only a handful of biomes and they're really small and linear.

based
cringe

would you rather me shill it here now like an asshole? suck a dick.

You expect anyone to fucking remember your post even an hour from now?

remember playing the shit out of the demo.

i sure don't. maybe some of the anons in this thread look at dev threads, though? cool your jets.

Soul is a certain quality inherent to a specific work or thing, that elicits an emotion deep inside. Soul is what makes you tear up when you hear a beautiful piece of music. Soul is that feeling of raw emotion you get when you watch a movie you love. Everything before 2005 has soul of varying degrees.
Soullessness started in 2005 when you got stuff like Johnny Test and the Tim Burton Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie.

What game?

BIOMES

You need to be more specific, for my generation low poly is 1080p

low poly has nothing to do with the output resolution

>logic
>blindly hates labels without looking at the facts

o the ironing

small and soulful > big and soulless

>Time Busters
Extremely kino, but only if you played with a sibling or friend

Wow no one cares. Go finish you shitty platformer in silence

>NEW BAD OLD GOOD

who hurt you, queer? daddy? uncle?

oh fuck nostalgia overload, this track is fantastic

Soul is effort put into lighting and shading and an actual idea of aesthetics

Attached: t4b3.jpg (639x407, 64.5K)

For the most part, yes.

But that lighting is terrible.

Let's be real, most true artists of varying industries have been forced out of their industry or made to conform because publishers, film studios, record labels, etc. have this idea that watering down the essence of something to make it as marketable as possible is the best way to go about things because they believe it'll help their profit margins. It's always been about money, but it used to be about the art as well. Now it's entirely about the money for management, making that CoD/Marvel/Kanye level of money. Production quality has objectively increased, but finding products with genuine passion is becoming increasingly difficult

Tekken 4 was so soulless that Tekken 5 had to resurrect it

Soul is remaking old game and selling it to idiots.

Soul is all about low resolution, low fidelty, stretched textures over severely limited polygonal models with disjointed, limited animation.

Attached: 2020-02-11.jpg (410x598, 39.97K)

You don't know what you're talking about. Tekken 4 was filled to the brim with soul

This.

>being a furry nazi

i still remember the music from this

There's something about 2005 that a lot of people agree on.

2005 was the real start of the 21st century.

>AVGN never got around to a third Bugs Bunny episode while he was still good

Fucking this.
>nobody had their own stages
>experimental ost
>final boss is Heihachi in a diaper
Truly the Wind Waker of the Tekken series.

New cloud looks similar to Noctis, really makes you thing huh

Tekken 4 was so obscenely ugly, Tag 1 looked a million times better everything from graphics to art direction, menus, everything
