City Building Games

Good morning, Mayor!

How is the city doing? What's on the agenda today

Haven’t played this game in forever. I just went back to SC4. My issue with cities skylines is that it doesn’t feel like an actual builder for some reason. It feels like a city painter. There’s no charm or difficulty to the game. And the DLC model is so scummy, putting in mass transit options that you have to buy the dlc to use. And the upcoming dlc is gonna have buses that brings in citizens from out of the city.

Tropico 6. It's easy but it has so much soul

>putting in mass transit options that you have to buy the dlc to use
Isn't that the point of dlc? The base game still has regular mass transit like buses and subways

Can you recommend some Cities workshop mods? I only have vanilla and refuse to purchase the dlc.

>putting in mass transit options that you have to buy the dlc to use.
ummm

sc4 had an expansion pack that did just that, called rush hour

The Bates motel

Holy fuck that is comfy. Mods?

Did they fix the memory leaks? I tried playing a while back and, when the game started, it kept hoarding memory until it crashed.

Does a DLC cracker exist for this game like there is for Payday 2? I don't wanna waste so much cash for little things and workshop items with DLC dependencies.

Doesnt crash when i play it.

No mods but it is a different game, Workers and Resources Soviet Republic

>still having Cities installed after they forced mandatory spyware on you

imagine being this cucked

Have fun playing, user.

>typed on Windows 10

8.1 my negro

I want a cyberpunk citybuilder

So 10 but with a different start menu

I wish I could get to this level of autism. I loved Sim City 2000 as a teen and more recently Banished, but I tried Cities Skyline and it was way too much autism for me.

If you're not on Vista/7 you're just as retarded.

Check out Sim City 4.

I pirated this game a while back but ultimately quit because of the most bizarre fucking contradiction

Everything in the game apparently sacrifices mechanics for aesthetics. Sure. I can get down with that.

But then WHY the fuck do you make it impossible to have a city without industry that creates a giant fucking cloud of poop smoke hanging over your city for the entire game and shits all over the floor and in the river too? It's impossible to ignore or toggle off and you have to look at it over your beautiful city for the whole game or at least I assume until you unlock green tech that isnt both overpriced and useless? What the fuck were muh aestheticfags even thinking?

Why does Paradox refuse to update the AI in any of their games?

Will this game ever not look like a fucking turd

Will Eastern Europe?
I modded the pollution effect on water away, even with clean technology it's still a weird sludgy appearance

Paradicks is incompetent and their games are basically just a platform for selling DLC. their modus operandi has always been the same
>release broken game
>incrementally fix it with overpriced DLC

There's a mod to disable pollution? Can you link me? Nice pedestrian causeway

Oh wow it works now, thanks

Just look up 'pollution' on the workshop and there's multiple top rated

>Will Eastern Europe?
It legit looks graphically terrible though

I pirated, I'm not giving parajew hundreds of shekels lad

I think the graphics look fine, on par for the genre at least. I personally enjoy the aesthetic although I want more decorative items to make the cities look less barren or tree-filled
Then good luck scraping the bottom of the barrel for mods, poorfag

I still want a Detroit city builder where you get to be a corrupt local politician with the cops in your pocket and every corner cut in your citybuilding.

Do NPCs still always take the shortest route everytime even if that route has fucktons of traffic?

Already found it on a 3rd party site so fuck yourself with a cactus. I also earn more than you

Good job buddy it only took you 5 years

Anyone playing New Cities or Citybound? These games look way more promising than CSL or any future SimCity games at this point.

only took you hundreds of bucks lmfao

Watching the construction on this game take place really soothes my autism. Every ton of material needs to be trucked to the site

Attached: 20200315101256_1.jpg (1920x1080, 640.99K)

you can pretty much already do all of that in Tropico except it has a Cuba theme instead of a Detroit theme

I thought this was a HoMM3 mod for a second there

Silly poorfags

Attached: Idonthinksotim.png (625x628, 117.53K)

>all this seething and projecting

why are you so mad lol

>my botnet can beat up your botnet

so what you're saying is i paid less money than you and got more dlc? how come i dont feel like a poorfag hahahaha?

you are all worse little dipshits than the warhammer2 threads which is saying something

Attached: 1578172181566.png (464x372, 156.83K)

What seethe or projection? If you're using anything past 7 you're using a fucking tablet OS and deserve nothing but derision.

>fps counter in the lower right corner
I have this thing with city builders, specifically Cities: Skylines, where I download dozens of mods and maps and start a new city only to be unsatisfied with the results 20 hours in. Then I restart on a different map and the cycle begins anew. I have easily clocked in 200 hours doing this without making any progress at all.

Paradox must have been aware of my dilemma so they decided to bundle their game with the software equivalent of decomposing roadkill. I uninstalled CS the day they introduced the launcher and I haven't looked back ever since. Thanks, Paradox.

That's fine if you're a digital nigger but don't chimpout when I don't spoonfeed your niggerdom

While normally at this point in the city I was getting 15fps, the 2fps is because I would turn on supersampling for these screenshots

Oh you know, no big deal, just a complete breakdown at all levels

How long did this take to build? It looks incredible.

Based 8.1 user, it really is 7-2.

Weeks of poking at it after work. These kinds of games are like a fishbowl I can just sit and watch

Besides Banished/Islanders, what are some other basic baby city/town builders for plebs like myself?

the original SimCity is pretty basic iirc

Attached: advanced simcity snes strategies ver2.png (5000x6538, 2.32M)

i never really knew what to do in this game

I remember playing Sim Town in my elementary school computer lab

This will sound strange, but try ActRaiser for SNES.

Does anyone happen to have those OldShoe guides for SimCity 4? Can't find 'em.

Are Tropico 5/6 any good? I've loved the series so far

Attached: 1555145354897.jpg (850x1143, 77.6K)

They're more of the same with a couple of tweaks. Wish Kalypso would stop switching the developers around as it feels like the franchise is struggling to move forward
