Oof

Oof.

When will Nintendo LEARN that Crunch is an essential part of putting out AAA games? This is exactly why Nintendo can't compete with Rockstar or Naughty Dog.

>japan
>good work-life balance

do you even get holidays in the US or is it all just work?

Depends on how scummy the company you're working for is.

>Abuse your employees to end up with a sub par movie game
I can wait, thanks chief

Japanese people are schedule freaks. If they delayed it it's because there were no more 30 minute legal slots to make their people work on it.
Then the american PR is now trying to turn it into a "it's totally cool to work with us, there's no crunch, only the legal 12 hours a day you signed for"

less than China last time i checked

They are trying, user.

Cope, wagie

I hate Nintendo with all my soul but that’s based. Is weird seeing japanese companies not being jews for once and caring about their employers

>greece
>working
So they check themselves in and go home?

>greeks """"""work"""""" more than germans
doubt

If Mexico works so many hours, then why are they still poor?

based Nintendo

work-life balance in japan mean 96 hours work week

>greece
>mexico
>working

The animal crossing team has an absurdly high percentage of women for game dev so that's probably why.

I bet the poor bastards working on mario and Zelda still have to do twenty hour days seven days a week

I get two months vacation instead of the six I wanted. We’re basically slaves.

>greece
lying greaseball pieces of shit

shitty jobs

Which animal would you crossing?

Half their economy is illegal activity.

>rockstar

lmfao

It's actually believable. "German engineering" is a fucking meme, German cars are some of the most unreliable pieces of shit on the road.

>mexico ontop
did this researcher count siestas as a part of their working hours?

That's the whole point. Working hours isn't equal to success or profit in any way. What brings that is good, properly done work. If you overwork your employees you make them go into auto mode where they jsut become the NPC meme and do the job at the bare minium. That won't make you grow that good. Notice how usually the most dedicated workers are those with less hours or half-time jobs.

Don't work hard, work smart.

>Normal work hour is so rare in Nintendo its worth to wrote a whole article for it

No, it's rare in the industry for AA and above companies. It's not for Nintendo or Indies.

>worse than mobile-tier visuals
>still manages to delay
Nintendo is such a garbage company, plus that wil be $60.

Is this a joke? What the fuck
My work gave everyone paid leave so I was hyped as fuck to play this on release

If you have to complain about working hours then it is because you're not interested in your job and you should quit, nobody forced you to be an employee, you got there yourself and then you're complaining about "forced work", my ass, a person without interest is better off. Ungrateful fucks.

heh, enjoy not having fun

old news. Game was supposed to come out in 2019, was delayed to avoid crunch

lmfao

when will nintendies learn?

>Crunch is an essential part of putting out AAA games?
I get that you're looking for any reason to console war and "they don't treat their employees like shit" is as good a reason as any, but productivity drops like a fucking rock after 40 or so hours and for more technical work you'll usually end up spending more time fixing fuckups than actually getting shit done. Other AAA companies don't do it because it's a good way to make quality games and keep employees productive, they do it to milk dumbfuck college graduates for all their overtime-exempt salary is worth before they drop out and go to work in a more sane field.

Crunch is still more productive than a 40 hour work week, especially in any kind of job where you just existing allows other people to complete more of their work.

only losers take vacation time

NINTENDO PLEASE RELEASE THE GAME EARLIER DUE TO CORONA
REEEEEEE I NEED COMFY DISTRACTION

Nice try, Schlomo

God I'm glad I escaped Chile. 9 to 7 work hours is the norm and then they bother you at home.

That's how the work worlds, men don't matter. That's ironically why we need more women in IT.

they prob get fired if they want holidays

This.
Think of all the money you could make if you worked during vacation times instead of playing videogames

but I have paid vacation time

>Crunch is still more productive than a 40 hour work week
It can be great if you have fresh, well-motivated employees crunching for a couple weeks to a month to get those final features working and the rough edges polished off. Hell, if you haven't been working them to the fucking bone and if they care about the game they're shipping they'll probably want to do it, but keeping that shit up long term is going to be counterproductive just from the turnover and talent drain alone. It doesn't work for EA and the likes because it's a good idea, it works because they have people lined up around the block to work for them that they can exploit.

3D is easy to work with and is the least time intensive thing you'll do. Stop letting companies pull the wool over your ignorant eyes. It's why they use it - shit like sprites are way more time intensive.

3D has other things associated with it but the actual graphics part is cheap fucking nothing.

t. Actually works for a game dev who does both multiplat.

>averaging 46 hours/week

oh the horror!

cry more greek bitch boi

>Oof.
Fuck off back to twitter with your mush brained newspeak.

>rockstar and naughty dog

Nintendo doesn’t really need to compete with a company that makes simulations and a company that makes movies. They make video games, user

This but unironically

imagine how much trouble you are causing your boss when you use that time

I was not ironic either.
Just let me play the fucking game already who gives a shit about 4 more days. FUCK

Fuck off kike

46 hours per week..... thats another whole hour per day.... crunch truly is horrifying....

If they're so mad about crunch time then just stop making games and get real jobs.

UK actually.

>German cars voted repeatedly for the least reliable and most expensive to service

Literally the Apple of the car industry, fooling the world-over that their brands mean quality.

>50% of the population is stay-at-home moms who work a couple hours a week, and those that don't managed that kill themselves at 25.
>Measure work hours across both genders.

Depends. When I worked walmart I only got Christmas off. Every other holiday they would just schedule people on holidays and have them work six or seven days. Now that I work for the state I basically get pro and most holidays off.

What is even funnier is that Animal Crossing is going to sell 3 times more than TLOU and at full price. Just look at the Animal Crossing team and how chill they are.

Attached: ac.jpg (400x225, 87.91K)

Pfffffffft bwahaha. This is what nincels actually believe.

Yikes!

An hour twelve on average. Those teams are likely large as well meaning that some people either really made that average rise high like his 56 hour quote or some really helped lower it. Like if supervisors left early.

What is reading comprehension?

>Buy digital copy
>Realize the sole reason the game can't be played right now is because physical copies need to be shipped and for the store to put the game on shelves.
>The game was perfectly playable and ready 1 month ago. But because street dates exist you can't.

Attached: 10bqkl8e4fm11.jpg (1468x1052, 340.3K)

Are you talking about sales? Screencap this. AC will sell not 3 but 4 times more than The Last of us Lezbos 2.

>i-ignore that a guy had to literally go to hospital from overworking goys, look the girls are kissing so we lgbtp+ friendly!

I get about 6 holidays per year. In addition to that, i get 3 weeks of vacation time to use. Since I'm salary i no longer have an extra week of PTO on top of that (personal/paid time off). Being salary, i don't really need that time anymore i guess since i can come and go as i please if it's not affecting my work. A lot of this depends on your boss too. I've had pretty cool/lenient bosses that are understanding when times are tough and i needed extra time in the past. *Another* thing we have is, if there's an unavoidable/serious illness you need to miss with for is FMLA, which is a government thing where if your doctor approves the need, you get a certain amount of extra time to use that's unpaid where your employer can't fire you for using it.

Pfffffffffft. Pokemon has lost a lot of traction in recent years. Kids don't play it, it's not popular. It probably sold around... what? Three million? And there's the national dex controversy as well.

So Animal Crossing won't even break a million units sold, kek. TLOU Part II will probably sell 20 million and upwards, in the first month alone.

Nintendo can't compete with that.

Depends. Contractors and low wage jobs like fast food, gas station attendant, waiters, etc usually don't get PTO. At my current company I get 4.75 hours of PTO per paycheck after 1 year of working with them (So about a day or so off for every month). When it was below a year, I was getting 3.25 hours.

Shit kinda sucks. You have to ration it and wait for major holidays so you can stack it if you want to go on a trip.
