What was the biggest waste of money you ever did spend on a video game?
What was the biggest waste of money you ever did spend on a video game?
I'm not worried about money. I'm worried about the coronavirus. They said it was just a flu, that it was only in China, but every day I hear of more and more cases, more and more deaths, it's spreading more and more in the US. The stock market crashed HARD. The person who just a few days ago called it a hoax has turned around and declared a national emergency. A few people are still in denial but everyone else is waking up. People are saying there's at least 500,000 cases of it in the US alone, and that's just so far. It's getting worse and worse.
Hearthstone packs. Taught me a very good lesson, too.
Technically, when I pay for a game after I pirate and finish it.
Why on earth would you do that?
Star Citizen, but I honestly feel worse about the few hundred I put into War Thunder during the years I was into it.
Alone in the dark for Wii. Bought on launch day full price. A few hours later I tried to return it but ended up having to trade it in $$15. In the end I paid $35 to play a broken game for a few hours.
I think user has a conscience
3k on gacha
Ugh, I hate that thing.
A guy from work convinced me to buy the 60 dollar campaign edition of fortnite by building it up to be this big base building tower defense horde mode sort of experience. I want my 60 dollars back.
Also Watch Dogs on release.
OH NO NO NO *wheeze*
The Halo fan in me made me fall for Bungie's Destiny scam, Destiny 2 was my breaking point
DoW III
Spent $500 on a War Thunder tank, no regrets.
Did you at least get your waifu?
SFV at launch
Never touched it again
Oof
i probably spent 100-150 dollars collectively on xbox live gamer pictures
funny how you can just upload your own
now
funny
Bulletstorm
absolutely patrician taste
Incels
Ugh, I hate those things.
> People are saying there's at least 500,000 cases of it in the US alone,
It's barey nothing. I want this country extinct.
I bought both Brink and Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City on release.
If 50% of the population becomes infected (it's the estimate) and the 2% mortality figure is correct (it might be too low) then it's basically doubling the normal death rate. But yeah, sure, just a flu. That's not even considering the collapse of the healthcare system.
A bunch of blizzard digital deluxe shit.
I wish it was worse than a flu, if you get it you would instantly die. Especially if you an american.
Americans should shut up
Cosmic Break. Then they closed the US servers.
kek
Figured that was inevitable. Wanted to get back into it a few years ago but when I saw how there was basically nobody online I knew it wasn't worth it because it was just going to shut down and I'd have wasted my time. There is a Cosmic Break 2 that they tried to do a Kickstarter campaign or something to localize and that flopped hard so that shows you just how little interest there is in Cosmic Break. Which is a shame because it was a nice enough game for its time, but oh well. I got PSO2 coming if I want to scratch my robot girl itch.
I bought the master chief collection
I bought a switch, I thought it would have games, it did for the first year, then it didn't.
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
I've bought and played far worse games over the years, but jesus christ the disappointment just fucking lingers with that one for some reason.
Full price Suikoden IV, worst console purchase was for a Wii U. Bought it for SMT x FE
And now Tokyo Mirage is on the Switch, RIP.
Phantasy Star Online
Now, the game itself is good and worth every penny. But I bought not one, not two, but three consoles to play it. First the Dreamcast, then the Xbox, and finally a Gamecube for Episode I & II and Episode 3.
Diablo 3
>Bought it for SMT x FE
That one must fucking hurt.
I miss that game. And I miss playing together with Yas Forums, /m/ and even /tg/. Those were good days.
Did you play episode 4?
Much later on a private server. Didn't get into Blue Burst when it was an official thing. Not sure why.
>first teaser shows a bunch of different SMT characters and everyone is expecting some sort of badass crossover fighting game with representatives from the entirety of both series
>it's just a Persona knockoff with Awakening and Shadow Dragon characters and that's literally it
What the fuck?
>What the fuck?
Apparently got moneyhatted by some music corp. Doesn't explain the rerelease though unless the same shit happened for some stupid reason.
skyrim
The 2% figure is not correct. Most people who get the virus suffer no symptoms or such mild symptoms they don’t even bother to get tested.
Well they didn't seem to advertise it at all, I had no idea it even existed until I found out about the private server. Not that I would have played it anyway, I recall PSO had a subscription fee for online play. I just played it offline on the Gamecube when I was a kid, and then got back into it years later as an online game via Schthack. As far as I know that was the only big private server so I wonder if we ever played together.
Daemon x Machina.
I still want my $20 back.
How did you get it for only $20?
Pillars of Eternity
Some of the least fun I've ever had playing video games, it's the most shallow nostalgiafaggotry I've ever seen.
I bought it for a discount on Steam, but I still want my money.
It's already discounted by that much? It came out like a week ago. Good grief.
Bought Dota cosmetics a few years ago, some diamonds to play Mu Online with my cousin and also got a $20 pack for Raid Shadow Legends, which I played for all of one month.
>It came out like a week ago.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Gamecube version came with a month of online playtime, if I remember right. On the Dreamcast, the EU version didn't need a sub at all (that's the one I played) and the US version didn't need one before v2. I think. It's been a while. It's only the Xbox version where I actually dug out my credit card.
As for Schthack, we probably didn't play together since I mostly played with a bunch of online friends (from WoW, of all things). But there's a good chance we've seen each other in a lobby somewhere.
No?
I got several PMs of "kys". Responding with "I hear that shit from my own brain six times a day and I'm still here. The fuck makes you think you're gonna be the tipping point?" took the wind out of their sales pretty effectively.
