I played a lot of XIV but I quit after beating the first ShB raid tier, I'd played since 2.1 and the cycle had just gotten so motonous, the game is always the same gear treadmill with never any significant changes.
Right now I'm playing PSO2 and actually having a lot of fun, I like the community a lot more too.

there's niche communities for like all of them even if the server is shutdown

Always felt like the kind of game that had better ideas than execution. It's clearly trying to to be ESO (before there was even ESO) but everything just feels clunky and grindy instead of a smooth or logical progression. It's like they copied the worst aspects of Oblivion/Morrowind but weren't able to replicate the Kirkbridge magic.

I don't know if it qualifies as a MMO as it's instance-based but coming from WoW, Tera and XIV I've been having fun on SoulWorker Online.
I know it's gookshit (I replaced gook voices with nip, sounds much better) but the combat is pretty fun. Also the energy system makes it so I'm forced to take breaks and I appreciate it
Granted I haven't reached the endgame yet, where it apparently gets repetitive and shitty. Haven't tried PvP either. But if you got nothing else to play you could give it a try, who knows.

I'm not going to defend what I did on any kind of ethical level. It's a private server and they set the rules/standards. At best, I'm just a guest. Still, it all felt a bit off-putting since it wasn't like I was trying to spread hate or belittle anyone who feels worried about everything. I empathize completely, but it feels like it's hard for the mods to separate shitpost from genuine malice.
