>PS1 games are expensive as fuck now

Man I remember seeing a preview for that game in a video on the Gex 1 disc. Years later I watched the whole gameplay video on youtube and some of the puzzle solutions were straight up bullshit but that is point and click games for you.

I looked at the prices just now and it’s between $65 to $120, and I’m thinking about emulating it.

Emulate it. Don't let the (((collectors))) win.

I'm thinking about selling my black label version of SotN because it's a faggot game now.

I'll give you 5 bucks, final offer.

why would you buy that, gay porn is free on the internet

>Silent HIll 1 is expensive as shit
>Silent HIll 2 is expensive as shit
>Silent Hill 3 is expensive as shit

Money isnt needed, just let me and my sister(male) have our way with your butt hole

More like
>SH1 OUT OF STOCK
>SH2 DISC ONLY
>SH3 OUT OF STOCK

cant wait for all these prices to tank when those faggot hoarders find out ps5 wont play physical backwards media past ps4. At best.

You are not kidding.
Someone on eBay has Silent Hill 1 for $600.

paid €90 ten year ago for the EU collector's edition with a soundtrack disc and artbook.

It took me something like an hour and a half to get out of the castle because I couldn't figure out what that you could pick up the tail warmer thing for the dishwasher machine. I thought it was just a painted on background thing, or that I needed to find a pipe or some shit.

if you're looking for SH2 - forget about the CE, get the platinum release with additional content.

>PS2 games are getting expensive
Only the rare ones that critics hate like God Hand and Urban Reign

How much would a mint condition physical copy of Tekken and Ridge Racer fetch?

Collecting retro games outside of Japan is a fools errand.

I can’t believe Alucard had gay anal sex with a japanese twink.

It's like $50 at most game stores.

That’s where you have to start with thrift stores. Gotta have patience but you will luck out at some point.

I don't know about Tekken, but I've got an original copy of Ridge Racer for PS1 that I picked up a little bit ago, in the big box. I wouldn't say it's mint per se, there's a pretty big scratch on the back plastic, but everything is otherwise intact. Cost me like $12.

Most games are like $100 or less. Cheap hobby unless you're collecting sealed shit

Most PS2 games are dirt cheap still you're not looking in the right places.

>a library of 2000+ games mass produced for a decade on one of the most successful consoles of all time
>inflating in price ever

Unless WW3 starts and nukes all those loose CDs they will always be reasonably sold unless you're some lemming looking for an obscure niche game in mint condition

Damn, is it really that much? last summer I got it for$20 at my local flea market, greatest hits version unfortunately but still. Seeing how much games in this series have risen is insane, stuff like the gba and ds games go for ridiculous prices.
Maybe years ago, most thrift stores have online auction sites now they send rare shit to.

>bought a copy of Virtua Fighter Remix long box edition for $15 recently
>find out it's actually worth $200-$300
I love clueless store owners who set the price to what they see is the lowest on Amazon.

I think I still have Silent Hill 2 around here somewhere

they'll go up regardless.
either you can play them on the ps5 or the only way to play them is on a ps3 or ps2.

Same. I got Ninja Five-O for $2.00. The store owner shat himself after he found out how much it was worth after I bought it.

They pretty much cost as much as they did when they were released, even cheaper today as the currency was stronger before.

It's only like 1 title out of 1000 that might be worth a few dollars more.

Anybody else own this? I found out yesterday it regularly goes for $300+ but I'll never sell my copy because it was one of my favorite childhood games. Apparently they only made 10,000 copies worldwide.

I own the pal version and it doesn't go for that much.

I've seen it on Lukie Games and Estarland for $320 and $241 respectively. Occasionally on ebay for $100 for a poor condition/incomplete package.

$150 min for PAL. Has been for a decade.

Fucking based

Just took a look on ebay and there are many copies for $100-300

western ps2 games are still cheap and some jrpgs like FFX

Was one sold on the Swedish "Ebay" for around 60 bucks. There's one listed right now but only the disc though.

Ps1 I don't mind because I can emulate them simply enough.

Ps2 I have a decent collection. However I live in pal region and that combined with the prices makes it difficult to flesh out my library as much as I would like. I'm not really into collecting, I more want the chance to play whatever game I want at any given time. That leaves with the options of modding a ps2 which I am too lazy (retarded) to do and emulation with something like PCSX2, while I now have a decent enough pc to run it, it still presents the problem of certain games not working and/or needing extended configuration. I would also have to sell off most of my collection which seems like a bit of a hassle. I also really do prefer to play sixth gen game on a CRT.

I have the same problem with OG xbox except emulation isn't really an option either. Also why can a wii run genesis games better than snes games?

yeah the ones above 300 are factory sealed. most used ones appear to be around $100-200 and disc only is around 50-100. it still seems like alot to me for game I just played in my youth. most people i talk to have never played it

The PS2 just has so many games. If you really get into it you could easily spend over a thousand dollars on games. At that point you can build a really strong PC and play a lot more.

Emulating is not the same thing as playing the OG stuff

>Guitar noises

>muh physical collection

cringe bro

All the prices are inflated to scam retards in to paying far more than they're worth. The reality is that most of the games aren't worth playing anyways and there are tons of copies out there that people are hoarding that never sold in brick and mortar. If you really want to play a game on original hardware just find a loose copy and resurface the disc with machine or by hand. You only pay out the ass for new in box or close to it for things you truly enjoy and want to own forever. The whole "video games as an investment" thing has been long dead. Move on to new things and stop wasting your time looking in to the past.

tldr fuck old games and nostalgia bait it's a waste of time and money

>HDD dies

>HDD
is this 2003?

>not havind SSDs
>not having tens of HDDs as back ups sitting in a closet
I always forget Yas Forums is mostly full of poor fag retards

Ah yeah ignore the fact that half of those games will be buggy and poorly coded and you won't be able to experience it on a true CRT TV unless you have a stupid setup.

>will be buggy and poorly coded
stop embarrassing yourself user

>muh retro video game collection
kill yourself
