I had a friend back in elementary school who used to tell me so much about this game, and I was only 7 years old. This was the first RPG game that I found out about, and I never knew they made games like this before.
As far as being 19 years too late, I still have yet to actually play Super Mario RPG or the sequels to the first Castlevania game. We all can’t play the best games to be ever created. But do you OP; I hope it’s fun for you as it was for me.

One of the best combat system in the FF series, feels smooth and fast. Great progression and world, good worldbuilding, alright outfits, amazing soundtrack and probably one of the world's greatest missed opportunity to be a great game altogether if not for the fact that they missed the mark writing Tidus.

Start game on expert Sphere Grid, its much mkre fun. The difference between the two is that Standard forces your characters stats and skills to one path (until basically end game) meanwhile Expert lets any character become whatever you want immediately.

the Remaster gives you the international edition features, which I enjoyed but would feel like a grind to some. They're optional though, and it's a good time either way.

A great female lead. A good combat system that uses status effects and turn order effectively. But also the source of a lot of the problems with modern FF, shit for side content and no world map.
Its worth a playthrough, Yuna is awesome. I probably wouldn't even put it in the top 5 of FF as much as people praise it as the best, its sort of what was bad in FF8 but more of it. Makes up for it with Yuna and combat though.
