What WH40K games are worth your time in 2020

I fucking love Dawn of war, is there anything else Warhammer I can indulge in?

dawn of war is the only good 40k game. the rest are shit. warhammer gets way better games

I heard good things about Mechanicus but haven't played it yet. But the music is just amazing

Also its on sale on GoG for 50% off

DoW2 Last Stand is great fun. I wish we got a full standalone of that instead of DoW3.

who needs the space marines?

Sanctus reach is fun for a bit. Has lots of potential

>Inquisitor space opera never ever

Isn't Eisenhorn getting a TV show?

augh

Post the page where she gets killed by one.

Space Hulk

Space Marine maybe ?

If you enjoy games like XCom, then Mechanicus would be a good choice.

Jesus, did the artist even think for five seconds about how she fits into that suit? Do they not realise that Space Marines only fit into them because they're gigantic, impossibly broad post-human monstrosities?

the 40k mod for open xcom is pretty great

I always wanted a space marine RPG that played like Skyrim.

>you play as a Space marine
>who gets wounded and comatose from a battle
>You're wounded and trapped under a lot of rubble
>nobody can find you so your chapter assumes that you died
>You're really injured so you go into hibernation mode to heal
>Wake up 300 years later
>Your armor is broke
>the planet remembers the war but was decimated to the point where tech is punched back into the 20th century.
>Your main goal is to find a vox communicator to contact your chapter and pick you up.

Side quests include
>fighting Small ork raiders
>Destroying Chaos artifacts before villagers see them.

The planet is very fringe. There can be a lot of plot holes that need to be ignored but I just want to handwave them to justify playing an 8 foot tall warrior learning to fight alone to protect a small imperium backwater community from the dangers of xeno scum. Putting everything into perspective.

>her arms going into the suit's arms
>you can already clearly see that she'll only be in them up to around her elbows when everything's in its final position

Christ.

I want Yas Forums to fuck off from all my hobbies, that goes for Yas Forums and /tg/ stuff alike

Thinking about getting Mechanicus off GOG. Heretek isn't really required, right?

What's the point. The suits doing all the work.

user pay close attention to the proportions there. No normal human should fit in that.

the proportions never made sense

Attached: 1464065071880.jpg (900x636, 70.36K)

I'd imagine her on stilts with a pair of trex headed graby arms.

It works for Space Marines due to them being hypermassive dudes, and even they're clunky as hell in those suits.

Not required but it gives you new gear and new enemies to fight who are not just necrons if you wanted variety.

Lorelet

Mechanics is pretty dope if you want something similar.

Play the Ultimate Apocalypse mod dor Soulstorm

where's this from? and what is she supposed to be, anyway? a GK? why not just make her a badass sister of silence or something?

she's an inquisitor

>basedface.png

Is it legal for them to take Grey Knight Terminator armor like that?

The Inquisition answers to none save the Emperor himself.

>Genestealer Cult Simulator Never
>Start out with just a regular Genestealer, you control it directly and abduct victims to implant, who become resources you can direct towards bringing you more victims
>by the time you've hit 5th generation and spawned new purestrains, recruitment is automated and your broodcoven members help you dictate how your cult expands its influence across the planet
>game systems keep scaling up to cover star systems or even space sectors as you expand your potential infection vectors, avoiding detection by the Imperium and dealing with potential outside threats like invasion from other xenos or chaos

>Is it legal for them
Yes.

There was a chess game, but it seems dead and completely broken now.

>see this approaching across the battlefield
>what do

>she gets killed by one.
Haven't read it, by what Legion, I or IV?

Get the mekboys to work

Been reading Eisenhorn for the last few weeks.
Halfway through Malleus.
I dont understand how this IP could be so mistreated. The video game potential is insane.

Is games workshop retarded? Why do they let any moron have the license?

Is that mk 1 Terminator armor

grey knights I think

Nothing personal

>Is games workshop retarded? Why do they let any moron have the license?
Logstory short.
None agrees with GW prices for license AAA games and GW okay with it since it protects from video games stealing money from tabletop

After going the AAA route failed spectacularly once THQ went belly up GW decided to just focus on a a bunch of smaller projects instead of taking big risks.

Borring
So still nothing bests than assault torpedo full of death company launched into inquisitor's ship

To be pedantic, 'Warhammer' isn't the same as 'Warhammer 40K'.

Chaos Gate was alright, but unbelievably dated by now and even GOG might not have it, dunno.

Mechanicus isn't particularly good. I finished it. Was pretty eh. Do not recommend.

DoW2 is very different but also good
Avoid DoW3 like the plague, I didn't believe the memes - BELIEVE THE MEMES
Space Marine is good
Gladius is OK if you like 4x but slitherine jewry is in full effect here and it's def. bare bones for what you're playing. The writing is really good and on point though.
Deathwing turned out to be a turd
everything else is shovelware

Is that inquisitor diablo game any good?
How about that L4D clone

>After going the AAA route failed spectacularly once THQ
>implying Space Marine was an AAA

pretty sure the GK got raped by a lord of change soon after

They have access to power armor made specifically for humans. If they had to make her special, it would make more sense for her to wear sister of battle power armor because it doesn't require the black carapace.

If British people didn’t run GW we’d be better off change my mind

>Gladius is OK if you like 4x
ALERT DIVISION BY ZERO
Literally the only reason to Gladius is if you are into 40k, as 4x it's pretty meh

I think we'll gradually see more vidya. They're flush with cash, new CEO, Warhammer IP performing well in that area

40k tactics game when?

Attached: 268500_20200314221140_1.png (1920x1080, 2.19M)

>Tiny
>Not stompy
>Toy like
No ork would respect this, thus diminishing it's ability to hurt them.

ok fair, as a 4x it's bare bones as FUCK, though it amuses me you literally cannot engage in diplomacy. As someone who likes 40k though it's pure fan service

SoB are actually use black carapace in current lore.

Fucking geedubs and their constant retconning.

40k is rarely consistent with how human power armor works. In one of the Eisenhorn books there's a member of the Eccleisiarchy who has custom power armor that is space marine sized.

>They're flush with cash, new CEO, Warhammer IP performing well in that area
In area of tabletop

>How about that L4D clone
Deathwing? Janky but fun and full of SOUL in coop with friends.

Enjoy your african Mcragian

I'm pretty sure the OP makes that distinction by saying that warhammer gets good games but 40k does not. (total war being the good games i guess)

>In area of tabletop
warhammer vidya is literally reviving the IP, they cited TWW and vermintide 2 as reasons to bring back the old world

>still no prepainted models
Bruh
I mean I guess that’s like wanting a “cutscene only” option in games but

I just want the toys bro I don’t wanna have to take art lessons to play

maybe after the tv show, going aaa is overrated though, all you'll get is an mtx ridden battlefield clones

Anyone has some models? This is the first time painting faces.

War hammer fantasy sux

That was Chaos Gate. So, 22 years ago.

It had really fun voice lines. When you ordered a shot your marine would say something like 'The Emperor orders you to die.' And if you missed the chaos marine talked shit.

youtube.com/watch?v=3zDA7A5uytQ

grey knights have a history of killing women

Could get worse than that, GW keeps mishandling shit, they might sell out to the progressive cult that has been trying to "modernize" 40k.

>You see the single greatest blow the emperor ever took was losing malcador, who he was in a gay relationship with.

everything's legal if you can get away with it

I feel like that's partly to do with the writers themselves and GW not caring enough to proof read. There's few good 40k books.

>they might sell out to the progressive cult that has been trying to "modernize" 40k.
They already did it

Attached: 1564336161364.jpg (950x746, 599.49K)

ok zoomer

that's sigmar, not 40k

Are the battle fleet games good?

>have no interest in tabletop
>want to get into minis painting and conversion
Thanks god I'm too poor for this shit. Or else I'd be even poorer but with useless plastic toys and paint stains everywhere.

they're pretty good imo

the
>mehcanicus has good music
meme. Never fails. And it's always the same fucking track.

Is it even worth getting into 40k now? I've been tempted to buy some guardsmen and paint them as traitors, but I worry that they'll Age of Sigmar the fuck out of 40k too. I just really wish we had a traitor guard game.

It's more like the entire 40k universe is inconsistent, even if you're a total purist and go by nothing but the official codices it's still a mess of retcons and contradictions.
