Thought it was pretty good. A worthy sequel.

For me, it's In Wonderment of Winter.

Literally just now beat it. I haven't cried in like 6 goddamn years. This game is perfect. I'm a grown ass fucking man and I cried. I had part of the ending SPOILED for me and it still wasn't ruined.
Same.
I used to think only Hollow Knight had soul. Moon Studios proved me wrong, why do platformers that are grim dark with white/black character designs have so much goddamn kino put into them?
Beat it just today on Hard, got all the stuff except all the light spirit orbs. Had a blast, the controls and movement always felt great in Ori and continue to do so now as well. Ending was satisfying, as well as making me cry like a bitch for a minute or two. Seeing Ori having to give up his old life and friends in order to become the new tree as well as seeing Shriek not redeemed and laying down to die with her petrified parents broke me.

Heavy Spoilers: I Embraced the light. When my name was Ori
I was sad that there was no tadpoles in the end. RIP Kwolek.
>Heavy Spoilers
>mfw I saw the word "I"
It's not that bad. It's obvious that he's still the same person and they all still get to be a family to an extent. It just means that if there's ever another sequel Ori will be the wise new mentor figure to the new protagonist.
so the tree can fucking resurrect people or what? and why did only certain people get resurrected
Ku was just injured.
This.
and what about that fat guy? he got healed in the first game too, was he also just injured?
Apparently a spirit tree can only resurrect guardian spirits. And Ku wasn't dead.
The theme is about cycles so if they do another Ori game, it'll be about a new spirit. But they might still keep the name "Ori".
Resurrection in the Ori Universe requires a massive amount of magic/spirit shit. In the first game it was the last of Gumo's people's technology that was used.
In this game, Niwen's only source left was the wisps and it was to heal Ku who was Gravely Injured, not dead.
I think so, or just hibernating?
It just so happens that your Owl here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between MOSTLY dead and ALL dead.
Naru was dead but brought back by a magic core from Gumo's people.
>fat guy?
Naru's a girl.
First one was mediocre, so is this one.
Deviantart is positively flooding with shitty guardian spirit OCs. Maybe it'll at least spawn some good r34.
>NOOOOO STOP IT LEAVE KU ALONE
You must be over 18 to post here.
>It is time, Ori
They've been doing that for years my guy.
>499350910
Finished it just now. Finally I can browse Yas Forums again without worrying about some shithead posting spoilers.
How the fuck do people use shit like triple jump and launch in spirit trials?
Everytime I check out the ghost of the guy who has the first time he just spams launch, but when I do races, items and skills are deactivated.
I had no idea you get an underwater dash thing later so I did this.
>not expecting PC leaderboards to be filled with cheaters day one
Well done, sir.
Well of course I had that in the back of my mind, but if you're gonna cheat, why not just teleport yourself or some OP shit.
>I need to go home
Dunno, maybe to seem at least somewhat legit. The top people at the winter spirit trial just walk past the door to the right without collecting the keys. Could have been a bug for all I know.
The whole fucking ending sequence, god damn. Admittedly I'm susceptible as shit to this games brand of emotional manipulation but man seeing how things end for Shriek after fulling expecting them to pull a happy ending hurt so much worse than I expected.[/ spoiler]
Trying to reach places you shouldn't be able to reach is so much fun in this game, and you can work something out in a lot of cases.
Speedrunners are gonna find a lot of crazy shortcuts probably
I'm sure we'll see sequence breaking and other such BS in the days to come. Who cares, just enjoy the game.
No it isn't, it breaks the fucking game because it isn't equipped to handle the player doing things out of order
She was a freaky bone monster. Deep down she knew that even if she stopped wrecking shit and went full hippy, noone would be fully accepting of her.
Was thinking about that during my whole play through. The movement is so fucking good and lends itself to small sequence breaks that make you feel like a fucking genius for pulling them off. I was actually a little disappointed after getting the last couple of movement options because they sort of removed a lot of the fun of puzzling out difficult jumps. Also props to the devs for making it pretty hard to soft lock yourself.
So what did I not figure out with the boss fights? I had to cheat for the frog and spider because I was doing about .2% damage per hit even with the bow upgraded to five arrows.
>Also props to the devs for making it pretty hard to soft lock yourself.
It's not hard user, I didn't do any fancy sequence breaks, I just used the triple jump and a couple of weapon swings to reach the luma pools area and if you complete that before progressing the story because of really baffling design decisions it completely locks any progress way later, why the fuck do they deserve props for that. The reason they don't deserve props is because that could have been very easily been avoided if they just programmed their checks better.
I used the spear a lot for spider and frog, does a good chunk of damage. The spider only gave me trouble cause I was pretty drunk at the time. Beat it pretty easily sober.
You redeem a GIANT FUCKING SPIDER earlier in the game tho, so the possibility was there. Still though, seeing her curled up under her petrified parents was fucking heart wrenching, I would have been okay if it was just a quick death like the tentacle parasite. Something about a scared animal, no matter what they look like, just hurts like a son of a bitch.
>KUUUU
What did the most damage was reflecting their attacks back at them.
The spider just had corrupted mind, it looked perfectly normal and had a family. Shriek was rejected by other owls and had noone.
The actual boss fights are generally pretty bad. Like other anons said, use spear and reflect stuff back. But also stay mobile. Watching people fight the frog is painful for me since they end up sitting in the water for like 90% of the fight. I didn't even see half of his attacks since I was airborne for almost the whole fight.
It was more than good, it was a legit near perfect game only marred by performance issues
Also, how do you have more compassion for the messed up owl than the freaking fantastic toad?
If there is one thing that bugs me about these games is just how little characterization you see in the main characters. Aside from maybe the mom creature, none of the main characters get any sort of characterization outside of "I am sad for my bird sibling" or "I am glad that my adopted son has not entirely left this world." All the side characters, even the Moki clones, all have dialog and character that differentiates them.
because most incels on Yas Forums were bullied
so its kind of natural they relate to the bullied shriek
Toad bro deserved better.
>KUUUU
The toad had a dignified death, I think that's what it is. He went out fighting to protect his family, and while it was sad it was also noble which helped ease the tragedy.
>wow what the fuck you dont agree with me?
>you must be x!
Good work.
why did you post this
More importantly, why did someone draw that?
I wish the best for you, and that maybe someday you will be able to handle disagreements maturely.
Oh shit, I though this was Yas Forums
Sweet high road bro.
>Make a comment he know will annoy people. Pretends its an argument.
Right behind you.
>Map is bugged at 99% discovery.
>Game overall with overflowing with quality and polish.
>Spear is busted with bosses.
>Chase sequences scratched that missing Rayman itch.
>Spider boss feels like it would filter casuals.
>Movement was tight all around despite not feeling consistent with general mid-air chaining.
>Art assets for the backdrop were incredibly fluid and interactive. Though the complaints about the foreground collisions/confusion are valid.
Was wondering about stonebro Moki and his RIP family ever since the quest. Last thing I wanted to check was his house since he never came back from checking on their stone bodies. He an hero'd. It's the little things.
Still playing it. Definitely longer than the first game, pretty sure I would have been done with the first one by now.
Bros, the corona will get me.
If this is the last game I played, I have to say I'll die happy. Beautiful game, beautiful experience.
Same here, hard, collected everything. Regarding controls I have small issues with the indicators: sometimes they show up but nothing happens when you press a button, especially with sand - Ori just slings to the sand wall and refuses to burrow. The sand escape sequence was a nightmare for me because of this: ori refusing to burrow, sound gone, ori teleporting/slinging all over tha map. The bugs needs to me ironed out.
The game allowed me to swim through the stone block under certain angle.
At times I felt like they were reusing the original theme too much but it all worked out in the end. The ideal sequel in composition for sure.
Just beat the Water Mill escape, Coker is an absolute monster
I'm glad I decided to play it on Hard for my first playthrough, even though I'm not good at platformers, WOTW is so intuitive to control it feels like a second skin
