Game is comfy as fuck and looks beautiful at times with the environments and art style. It has soul. The open world is also one of the best I’ve played and it really feels like home.
Why does Yas Forums hate it so much? I get that you guys are pissed with the dialogue but any other criticism is plain stupid.
It's fun at first but it gets boring very fast plus its combat system is pretty much completely broken without mods
John Ramirez
>find a top secret military listening station in the glowing sea >get excited, possible enclave lore/high end equipment inside >go inside >bunch of leveled enemies, treasure chest with a pipe gun + caps >thats it
Part of me always wants to forget how bad this game was. Why should I go anywhere? Why should I do anything? To pick up raw % stats? Collect pipe guns? Exploration is what is touted as Fallout 4s strongest aspect and I believe it, but even that is utter shit in the game.
Jackson Robinson
Fallout 3 was my proper first. I remember playing 1 on a Windows 98 PC but I barely remember it.
I liked 3, NV and 4. I just think people should give 4 another chance.
Logan Hall
No thanks, I'm tired of mmo tier quests
Julian Ramirez
Its fun, but some complaints of mine are >old vertibirds looked cooler >T-60 shouldn't exist >X-01 shouldn't be pre-war >Institute needs better writing >assault rifle is fucking dumb
Ian Cooper
my jizz has more soul than this piece of shit
Hudson Torres
yes this is true, the only redeeming part of the game is the exploration but that runs very thin for reasons you listed. For me the big disappointment was going somewhere new, like out in the middle of the swamp and there sits nothing except a new settlement plot. 30 fucking settlement plots. Such an interesting setting, so unbelievably underwhelming.
people are going to say x,y,z combat was good but while all that is true, let's just say it's true, what's unacceptably bad is the scripted AI enemies. There's more skill in masturbating than anything FO4 provides. It's brain dead slop.
Grayson Peterson
They're just edgy and jaded teenagers who want muh new vegas back.
Gavin King
The game retcons and handles so much shit poorly that it feels like a Fallout fanfiction rather than an actual Fallout game.
Nolan Cook
Should Todd kill him self for ruining fallout and elder scrolls? I see no reason why not.
Cameron Robinson
basebuilding is gay
Julian Gutierrez
Don't blame Todd, blame Pete Hines
Chase Rivera
i have another setlement that needs ur help
Nathaniel Turner
76 is unironically a much better game than vanilla 4, especially once Wastelanders comes out.
>phoneposter I'll bite though. I only played it for an hour because of how awful the story and guns were. It was just a boring, bland experience. Fallout 3 was more enjoyable.
Christopher Howard
76 has potential, they gave us a joinable Enclave which I've wanted since I first discovered Fallout. I just wish there was an actual singleplayer instead of just private multiplayer servers.
Parker Ross
fallout 4 is the comfiest in the series
New Vegas has a better story/writing but I've lost interest in it much much quicker than 4
Asher Reyes
yeah I might pick it up when it comes out on steam in 3 weeks
Brayden Clark
Death would be too kind. He should be forced to play only Fallout 4 for the rest of his life.
How is that bugfest better than the previous bugfest?
Landon Allen
I've played it, and it's not offensively bad. Aside from the server thing, survival mode should be optional like in previous games. It's hard for me to really play and appreciate a game when I'm constantly scrounging for food/water.
Angel Sullivan
>sand everywhere Why, why the fuck was this game in Boston? Everyone and their fucking moms wanted to be out west (except for faggots that say shit like "what if it were set in hamburg germany wouldnt that be siiiick???"), and even the art makes Boston look like fucking Vegas. Fuck bethesda
Oliver Allen
>dude radiation stops grass from turning green 200 years after the fact
Jeremiah Cox
>Everyone and their fucking moms wanted to be out west I wouldn't want Bethesda to be anywhere near the west coast. They'd fuck it up so bad.
Camden Williams
>Everyone and their fucking moms wanted to be out west We've had enough games in the West. A change of scenery would be nice but Bethesda is retarded and can't do it properly.
Ayden Ward
>I wouldn't want Bethesda to be anywhere near the west coast. They'd fuck it up so bad. This, for all the lore they've fucked up, at least they don't dare to fuck with the West.
Kayden Powell
They probably are avoiding it out of fear the most autistic lore fags with yell at them for a very long time
Jacob Jackson
It's for the best. I feel like New Vegas was a decent end to the whole NCR arc anyway.
Adrian Brown
so they'll reserve themselves to making shitty games in even shittier locations. fuck that man, just make a shitty game in calirfornia or vegas, I don't care, I just want to be a fucking COWBOY.
Samuel Ortiz
The game doesn't actually look like that at all. The only place with desert that looks anything like that is around Nuka World.
Dylan Reed
Because Yas Forums doesn't like fun
Christian Collins
Exactly this. Someone must've misunderstood what it means to "show, don't tell" and skipped the "show" part entirely because there's neither any interesting lore nor anything that would imply it. I literally only play Fallout to learn about the world it's set in and there's nothing to learn in Fallout 4 except some terminal lore about random pre-war stuff.
Adam Jackson
Even if you cared about the prewar stuff, it isn't done particularly well in 4 either. Every last company had some comically sinister mustache twirling back story, or the location ultimately leads you to find a skeleton with a sad audiolog that conveniently spells out their last moments right next to them or some shit. It's painfully formulaic and uninspired a lot of the time.
Eli Howard
>Game is comfy as fuck and looks beautiful at times with the environments and art style. It has soul. The open world is also one of the best I’ve played and it really feels like home.
none of this is true and you have mental disorder if you believe any of this nonsense. Please seek help from professional before you end up killing people.
Nolan Carter
why would you play a fallout game that misses the main point of the series so badly?
Cameron Richardson
Shit game by shit company.
Carter Sanders
Yas Forums hates fun video games and prefers semi-interactive VNs/walking simulators with shitty moment-to-moment gameplay instead, e.g. New Vegas
Carson Reyes
what's more fun about this game than any other fallout game in existence
Sebastian Brooks
no
Lincoln Clark
Just like how Nintendo fags say botw has the greatest open world ever? Either you niggers are baiting or have shit tastes. Porque no los dos goblino?
yeah a perpetual shitty loot treadmill is so much fun
Nolan Young
>Old vertibirds looked cooler Fallout 4 ones look more like the fallout 2 vertibird than the 3 and NV ones. >T-60 shouldn't exist T-60 was deployed for riot control in select regions only a few months before the war, and was never in a major wartime deployment. t-51 remains the most common and most advanced power armor to serve on the front lines. >X-01 shouldn't be pre-war X-01 only exists pre-war as prototype models. Most X-01 models were finished by the enclave after the great war. >Institute needs better writing Agreed >assault rifle is fucking dumb Agreed. It should've remained the Machine Gun it was supposed to be.
Joshua King
played the shit out of this game sadly its one of those, seen it once seen it all, there's literally not a single interesting npc in the entire game imo only redeeming factor is gameplay and world building
Correct. Everything about 76 that's not mechanically tied into the multiplayer is great. Story, Quest, Writing, and world is leaps and bounds ahead of 4, even without NPCs.
William Myers
I simply cannot bring myself to replay this game, even with mods installed. Far too repetitive. It's difficult to describe but it just feels like it's barren of any true content.
Liam Murphy
here's my problem with power armor just laying around in fallout in the general. the millitary wouldn't just let that shit lie around as they were in the process of pushing china's shit in, they would take any power armor they could. Plus they already had shit like pic related for riot control
The combat mostly. Pretty much every other game in the series from 1 to NV is terrible for whatever system it's attempting. Also the map is better is better than 3/NV, has more verticality and interesting landmarks, and it's not a closed loop like NV. The crafting/settlement system gives more reason to go out and explore for resources on your own initiative without being led along by quests.
>list a bunch of gameplay attributes and prepend the word 'shit' in front of them shit argument
I got memed into playing this because people kept posting it every time I mentioned I liked fallout 4 and it fucking sucks. All this does is flag you as someone who hasn't played FO4 or borderlands. FO4 isn't a circle-strafing twitch shooter (unless maybe you played on retard difficulty).
Joseph Rogers
>Yas Forums hates The redditor cope.
Isaac Hernandez
MMO tier skinner box with 0 RPG elements/freedom of choice beside choosing one of 4 endings. Can't even respect the lore of the series it comes from either. Complete garbage.
David Howard
I played it a bit on free trial. I went straight down the story quest and found myself underleveled. It was a bit jarring from rp-perspective, like the game was telling me, "uh, you weren't supposed to come here yet." I guess I was supposed to "explore" for exp and loot before setting out on the quest. I had the same problem with Fallout 3.
Joseph Hernandez
sick buzzwords bro
It's not just laying around, you find it appropriately in military bases/crashed vertibirds/cargo trains, etc
Kayden Collins
horrible, gunplay, optimization, locked to 60 fps, main story is not just bad, it is shit, it destroys all role playing potential, etc. etc. etc.
both are shitty looter shooters, a fair comparison
Adrian Wright
>It has soul No, that's the number one problem. It's soulless cash grab. Nothing is flushed out or realized. It's just a loot and shoot Fallout game.
Michael Cruz
>Install shit ton of weapon and armor mods >Install different season mods to try >Play perma (if you die, you start again with a new character) >Install hardocre loot and unleveled enemy mods
It's fun.
Parker Edwards
It has no soul.
Isaac Jackson
I played this game nonstop for the entire month of december after it came out and got like 6 characters to 50+ and by far the best way to end the game is to play along with the institute and the railroad long enough to destroy the brotherhood of steel for the outfit and hat and get the plans for the transporter, then have sturges make the transporter at sanctuary and defeat the institute with the minute men, then spend the rest of the game hunting down synths.
Jackson Cox
It crashed for me whenever I was building settlements. Was forced to download a fan mod to fix it. After every 3 quests I played, I would always encounter a bug stopping progression. Way more then Skyrim. LITERALLY every quest on the Wiki has at least 5 documented and verified bugs that could happen at any time per quest. I had to download a mod that told me what I was going to say when I pressed X, because the game just says "Sarcastic" and I would end up getting fucked over. This game is awful.
Dominic Wood
the only two things the game improved on were combat and exploration, everything else was complete shit. essentially what posted
but i'm sure there's going to be some massive contrarian dork come in here and tell us how the story and faction of FO4 were actually good
Cooper White
Haha I always tend to forget about the dialogue system. What was the point of that shit.
Jayden Wilson
>a year passes >want to try and fix F4 with mods >browse web for various gameplay altering and world building mods >feels good but still something is missing >drop the game after 10-30h of playtime >rinse and repeat
Thomas Torres
Emil Paligulsdfkasnfka or whatever his last name is really liked Mass Effect. That's it.
