Probably won't even be, only way to play is buying a Xbone.
Charles Price
>Killed it for people using an outdated OS So literally nothing of value was lost in terms of playerbase.
Aiden Rodriguez
The fuck were they thinking with this? Most Xboxfags hate weeb shit
Angel Ward
W10 already confirmed.
Zachary Rodriguez
It uses the same stage/Diablo style structure as PSO1 did. However, the character movement/combat has been drastically improved. As is the pacing of the game. PSO1 was amazing when it first came out, but it really didn't age well. PSO2 is a better action game than most action games coming out right now. Gunner was vastly improved and they have other new classes.
That said, it's still pretty much grinding. And the story/characters are laughably bad. You play it for the combat and progression. And since it's free, you can try it out for yourself and see if you want to keep playing.
same gameplay loop with a few qol improvements that were implemented in PSU and PSP but 2 takes a huge shit over the original PSO lore
Sebastian Jones
(Coming Soon), which means jackshit.
Jordan Williams
>but 2 takes a huge shit over the original PSO lore [Developed by Sonic Team]
Adrian Taylor
How? It's not even in the same universe as the pioneer 2/ragol
Anthony Ross
PSO2 has triple that amount, a lot of different classes and builds, the customization is one of the best out there, constant events with soulful exciting banners and announcements, gameplay is like a ninja gaiden lite. Its one of the best games of this decade and phil spencer is THE MAN for bringing it over.
If you expect literally pso just with a 2 at the end though you will be disappointed. PSO2 is a grand celebration of the whole series and fuses the best parts of pso, psu, psz, and psp together into a very addictive package. If you have a friend or two, you could easily put in thousands of hours into it. I actually upgraded to an xbox one x and gave my one s to my brother so i have the best performance of it and he can play with me. We went full autismo on the closed beta and will continue on tuesday
Aaron Ortiz
WHERE THE FUCK IS THE PC RELEASE DATE? I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT THE XBONE, JUST SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THE PC RELEASE DATE YOU FUCKERS
Jace Wright
They won't, if you wanna play get a Xbone, that's what I'll do at least.
Wyatt Smith
Im excited for it. I havent played Phantasy Star in a long ass time.
Jose Morris
I'll wait for it to drop on PC, so I can finally drop BDO for PSO2
Jeremiah King
it's still an MMO. meaning it's shit.
Carson Cook
It's not an MMO. It's in the same genre as something like Diablo or Vindictus. Zone progression where you can only have a limited number of players join you, with a HUB meeting area.
Nolan Williams
way more locations and way more replayability because of the random shit that happens during stages
Austin Stewart
cast summoner reporting
Joshua Brown
So when will it come to the switch in NA
Jace Phillips
What's the stongest class combo? What's the weakest/worst class combo? What's the most fun class combo?
I made a newman female force/techter and cast male gunner/ranger in the closed beta. Hunter and force was fun in PSU but they totally butchered ranger. Its amazing how fun they made all classes in this game
Evan Russell
Its censored dogshit is what it is.
Joseph Garcia
it's not even similar to PSO other than the name and some references.
Jaxon Nguyen
Gunner is my favorite class, but I love PSO2 because it's the closest you can get to playing a cute Mahou Shoujo girl. I feel like they added cards and wands just to emphasize the parody.
Te/Ph was pretty fun. I quit before etoile or whatever it's called came out though.
Sebastian Myers
How many players can play together at the same time? It was 4 in PSO.
Jacob Davis
>he unironically thought darkers was a good name
Sounds like something a 9 year old came up with
Cameron Powell
Etoile looks like a lot of fun to play and completes my Gundam fantasy for Cast, but having to level something up to 80 first seems so daunting
Ethan Jackson
But why tho? CAST fucking suck at anything magic related.
I myself will make a gunner loli CAST to get the best of it.
Dylan Gray
I thought that was only true for the PSU iterations
Aiden Fisher
12 is the limit for multi party areas
Aaron Anderson
casts still have the lowest stats for force in pso2
Jose Thomas
No. It follows the structure of a disneyland visit. This self-proclaimed "game" is not a game. It's shit.
Benjamin Taylor
Race is pretty much just cosmetic in pso2. Unless losing a handful of attack points really triggers your autism that hard.
Camden Hernandez
Did they do the stupid bullshit the Japanese version has where episodes 1-3's main story gameplay was taken out and all that's left is cutscenes? That absolutely destroys pacing
Evan Howard
There is a chart of how well raced do at certain things.
Like newmans are good with magic stuff, cast with guns humans are "muh adaptable to everything" race and there is other race that is just straight up better at everything because fuck other races I guess.
Adrian Stewart
it matters in pvp (lol) and time attack runs
Liam White
If you liked PSO stay away.
Gabriel Brown
Just like real life then
Based
Grayson Wilson
You can't even trade directly with other players unless you pay money. The player shops are accessible for free but it diminishes the feeling of PSO when you can buy most stuff and not talk to anyone.
Nicholas Rogers
Someone told me deumans have the highest attack stats yes but they also have the lowest defensive and hp. Newmans excel at force, casts can do hunter/ranger, humans can do all 3, and dewmans can do all 3 with a little more power but the trade off is youre squishier in higher difficulties. At least thats the gist i got of it. Also to raise your mag purely in melee/range/tech power depending on your class
Brayden Richardson
Glad they're finally going to bring it over. I played the game on Japanese servers and it was great. What's really sad is how this is being brought over after like 9 years, but Dragon Quest X will never be released.
There's a few tie-ins to Ragol, but most of the time it's just epic nostalgia references. Honestly all the lore was fine up until Episode 4 where they decided to throw in an Isekai plot because that was flavor of the year for all anime back then.
That said, Tokyo has some fun missions. I wish they'd put those dash pads in more places.
It's effectively the same game but modernized, for better or worse. Combat is way more fluid, stylish, and satisfying. The only issue is the power creep on the JP servers has gotten so fucking high that everything dies nearly instantly even at low levels just starting out. Lore is ignorable past Ep3, shitton of anime tie-ins and collabs that rakes in an absurd amount of money but is mostly restricted to just dumb clothes you see other people wear and maybe a seasonal event quest at worst. Hell the original PSO had sonic and tails shit constantly so its not like it's too weird but can get obnoxious.
All the doomsayers are just boomas who can't let go that this isn't the extremely monotonous spread needle/gifoie spam at the speed of smell that they claim is the epitome of skill and tactics. No you fucking retard, even Dark Falz was just a basic ass HP check to see if you were high enough level to survive Grants, or if you had someone dump a 4s armor on you with 4x light resist.
Dragon Quest is niche in the west so it doesn't make sense to bring it over if it will have low player numbers. Also it doesn't have coomer appeal like PSO2.
Ethan Jones
This desu
Phantasy Star Universe was the most popular on 360. The PS2 and PC servers were together and they didn't even make it as long.
Even the fucking demo for PSU was swarmed with people until it was closed down.
Dylan Brown
>Dragon Quest is niche in the west So is Phantasy Star. PHantasy Star is even moreso than Dragon Quest is. Dragon Quest is one of the top three best selling JRPG series here (when SquareEnix actually bothers to give it support). The fact that Sega thinks they can make money from releasing PSO2 here means that SquareEnix could do the same with Dragon Quest X. Especially with the built in fanbase from the SquareEnix brand name and two other MMOs. >Also it doesn't have coomer appeal like PSO2. Haha. It has even more appeal in that regard than Final Fantasy XIV does.
Racial stats mean fuck all in the long run. We're talking like 30-40 points out of 3000+ The longer the game goes, the less the base racial stats matter because the majority of your stats come from: >Class Level >Mag >Weapon + Affixes >Units + Affixes
Unless you're a turbo autist that must do the top 0.03% damage in the world in a game where you can beat all current content with three year old gear, no. Race doesn't matter. A beginner weapon has more stats at level 1 than your racial choice.
Lucas Collins
>having to pay for live >having to pay for premium yeah fuck that
Aiden White
I personally think episode 4 wasn't that bad especially considering it gave us Borderless and Neon Days/Nights lmao but i can see why it's a turnoff for some people Episode 5 is a lot more on the nose with the isekai thing imo
Logan Walker
Thats how offline PSO was. Online pso was just hucasts and racasts with charge vulcans/arms/slicers and a force slave to heal and cast sdjz. PSU feels much more evolved than PSO and PSO2 feels even way more involved as far as end game, class roles, and support goes.
I had the full game of PSU and the demo and played both. The demo was funny for being able to get away doing/saying anything and you went with the retail game to actually play. PSU 360...home...
Brayden Jackson
>having to pay for premium Not even slightly true, premium benefits are >having to pay for live That's your own fault nigga lmao
I consider 4/5 basically in the same tier, I don't even know what the plot of ep6 is because I completely stopped paying attention.
PSU was pretty cool, much more classic MMO feel that PSO2 lacks I will give you that. I've been playing 2 in JP for nearly a decade now and i'm actually looking forward to the NA beta because it's going to be amazing goin back and doing old EQ that never pop in japan anymore and when they do pop they wont die in fucking 7.5 seconds. I WANT TO EXPERIENCE THE FIGHT MECHANICS AGAIN.
How many people do you know in America or Europe that is willing to pay a sub fee to play DQX? not many.
William Martinez
>dqx >coomer appeal the game has no mods and its literally made for children.
Jackson Garcia
I have no idea what the fuck is going on in that picture but its ludo. I never played jp pso2 but ive seen videos of it. The mine base defense in the desert and dark falz loser look like pure kino. Somehow i dont think NA players will be as autismal as JP players. I saw lil miss thunda thighs in the beta though. Havent seen that guy in years. Glad he still makes thicc bitches
Camden Foster
PSO2 sucks compared to PSO1 because >The missions last about 5 minutes instead of being long-term dungeon crawling parties and >it's F2P so the whole thing is structured around limited time events forcing you ot play around the game's schedule instead of your own.
They were so close but they ended up missing the original appeal
Hunter Russell
Is playing a Tank actually viable in this game? Or is it one of those action games where tanking classes are pointless because every class gets iframes and playing well means they don't get hit anyway
Nathaniel Sanchez
What does premium even do Is it worth it
Tyler Anderson
Fact: The games with the best community all have limited character customization, and any game that lets you make your character as your ideal loli fuckdoll and dress her up develops a terrible community
Bentley Mitchell
Can I still play Phantasy Star Online?
William Butler
Of course. Offline and Online.
Brandon Long
>I have no idea what the fuck is going on in that picture Magatsu intro always starts with him taking one big steppy into the camera frame The rest is just OW MY TOE humor. youtube.com/watch?v=1l5u5NKFYO4 This was my favorite EQ in the game back when it was new because it required a lot of effort to kill. Now he's just dead in a minute in a SLOW run. The person playing is a twin dagger Fighter which was known for superior aerial combos which make busting those knees easy, most people had to either used ranged attacks or if you were a grugtard Hunter, had to find a turret to hop in. Standard route JP was Left Knee > Right Knee > Chest arms then Left Arm > Right Arm > Face
Now its just Left Knee, Right Knee, Chest and chest unga bunga until it dies. Mining base Demise was the coolest shit though with people having to stagger AIS usage, japanese calling certain rounds as designated AIS points, and everybody going apeshit on the final round.
Premium lets you >Sell items on the marketboard (visiphone) >Enter Premium room space if a lobby is full due to overpopulation (this also has a limit though) >Have a big room to decorate >Extra FUN points for certain activities >Premium drinks for damage boost (still costs in-game money, AND is the most expensive drink so you're still paying more for like a 1% boost)
2/5 above can be gotten for free in-game through My Room and My Shop 3-day passes.
>How many people do you know in America or Europe that is willing to pay a sub fee to play DQX? This is a dumb argument. All MMOs come out with risk and have to build a fanbase unless they have an established fanbase or heavy marketing. But even a totally unknown Korean MMO that only sees 150k subs a month ends up being successful enough that the company keeps supporting it. There's at least 400k core Dragon Quest fans who will buy every new single player DQ game. And that number shoots up to 1.5 million when SquareEnix actually markets the game. Doing some basic marketing and cross promotion with other SquareEnix titles would easily get enough people to play the game.
>and its literally made for children. Are you trying to imply games like Phantasy Star and Final Fantasy are made for adults? Their target demographic is literally shounen while Dragon Quest is aimed at a general audience.
