>Deconstruct the concept of the idiot hero and have him constantly make grievous mistakes. >Have everyone exploit him for their own ends. >Gets his idealism fucking SHATTERED as the game goes on. >Have him not really realize killing is wrong until the end. >At the end of the game, he looks back on what he's done and basically has a fucking nervous breakdown
Yeah they probably could've done better with him like they did with Caim.
Brayden Campbell
...Kinda.
Justin Evans
yeah, feels like it's lacking or that deus ex machina thingie that should go on and fighting higher beings. lots of wasted potential and not nearly as depressing as it should.
i like adult mana though, lots of cum were offered
Jonathan Martin
Meh, I think they'd have to differentiate him from Caim in a few ways.
>Caim is already damaged goods >Nowe is goods that are about to fucking hit the ground after being dropped off the Empire State Building.
Wyatt Martin
Yeah I think if they made Nowe more like Caim, he'd probably be even more generic.
Caleb Jones
>POSSIBLE NOWE USAGE INCOMING You could have him return in a nier sequel or drakengard 4 with the dragons he flies with in ending b. This could mean you were in the land of the watchers or somehow they ended up there through other means. Would end up with Nowe getting murdered probably.
Indeed. Not a bad idea. Maybe he'd sacrifice himself or something because he feels he doesn't deserve a happy ending after what he did. To differentiate him even more, maybe he could have a redemption arc?
A pretty awesome final boss theme for route C. Even it it is the last proper final boss in the game. youtube.com/watch?v=xjl2mqTF2dY I want to know what drugs were these fucking devs on to come up with the final two routes in the game.
Gavin Ross
Theres always so much more I hear from this track every time i listen to it. Yeah yeah babies cooing but theres also a barely audible percussion throughout the vocals that i'm obsessed with right now.
Levi Hill
There is no drugs. Only Yoko Taro
Camden Carter
Come on, they had to be on something for the final 2 routes. Something this batshit insane has to have drugs thrown into the mix.
Blake Parker
>The scene where Caim and Red reunite as they die.
They clearly had someone on staff who knew what they were doing. Shame they weren't in charge of the protagonist.
Charles Russell
>lowkey what the fuck, she's just a little bit underwieght with bags under her eyes never understood what was about "losing her beauty" when I'd breed her
Jeremiah Taylor
Will we ever get another game like Drakengard? Not just for the ride, but also the experience. Ending D is really depressing when I look back on it. By the time I got ending B I wanted to stab myself in the head or bash my head against a wall until I passed out. A game that really takes it out of you.
Marathon is to Drakengard as Doom is to DMC/Dynasty Warriors. Remember that
To quote Salvador Dali: >I don't do drugs, I am drugs
Ryan Russell
Manah was so much more interesting and Urick was fucking amazing
Alexander Powell
Urick might be in the running for "Most based character in the entire franchise"
>Literally just fucking shoves Caim off a cliff
Carson Davis
>first boss is a 50ft tall loli high priestess of an apocalypse cult possessed by a mad god >music sounds like the end of the world inside her head youtube.com/watch?v=KMs4ceG8J9k
I didn't like Manah but hands down Urick was one of the best characters in the game. And to think, Giant Manah wasn't even the strangest final boss in the game.
Robert Barnes
More like strangest final boss in the fucking series. 3's D branch ending will never stop being tragic as shit.
Ethan Lopez
Caim is nothing BUT based
Nathan Ortiz
Well monster Furiae is one of the scarier final bosses in the series. >3's D branch ending will never stop being tragic as shit. Yeah you're not wrong there.
Asher Davis
I still take solace in the fact that the Flower chose Zero, because if it waited a bit and then chose Caim....
Fucking imagine that
Lincoln Perry
Probably a shitty translation, instead of trading her beauty it should have been trading her appeal because clearly she isn't hideous or anything but some people just exude an unpleasant aura that makes them uncomfortable to be around and thats probably amplified with her by a hundredfold. Also she fucks little boys
Colton Roberts
>as Inuart places Furiae in the seed think for a brief moment that Angelus was wrong and they really are the seeds of resurrection and we might actually get a happy ending in the game
Why couldn't Caim just fuck his sister. Thats all she wanted
Evan Reed
>>Deconstruct Stopped reading there
Austin Adams
Yoko Taro does shit like that to you
John Miller
>because if it waited a bit and then chose Caim Please no. You cannot name me a scarier final boss in this series besides her. He thinks Angelus is hot. What the hell can I say?
Daniel Davis
Only term I could think of Even Caim has limits. I think he probably regretted it afterwards
Sebastian Young
Come again?
Gavin Butler
The entire concept of Flower!Caim is now going to be a reoccurring nightmare of mine.
Zachary Johnson
Drakengard 2 makes me sad, because there was a lot of creative potential in it from start to finish, but they seemed to take the put all their stock in Nowe being a bland Shonen protagonist that saves the day and gets the girl in the end despite all the people he got killed.
I stand by thinking that Manah should have been the new main character. Living with the PTSD of being the villain adopted by the Watchers, and trying to stop the world from ending while Caim, the first game's "hero" is trying to break the seals and free Angelus. Like a full-circle reversal of roles.
I think it'd be funny if it was revealed Caim just fucking backstabbed the dude
Lucas Bell
I always interpret it as "fuck you, incestfags"
Evan Rodriguez
Perhaps. I still think Nowe could've worked, though. They just needed to change up his overall character arc in a few key ways.
Zachary Baker
I wonder if they had originally planned to do more with all the pact partner characters. There's a lot of beautiful concept art detailing their backstories, but they're barely talked about in-game.
Caim would probably just think "I can now use my eye to murder people. Neat"
Carson Fisher
I think he would have been fine as a Papa Nier styled character. Someone genuinely kind-hearted and well-meaning but too stubborn and thick-headed to realize that their goal could ultimately hurt a lot of people.
It absolutely is. More specifically, based on Taro's hatred of Sister Princess.
Tyler Green
Probably would've done that. Every single aspect of 2 had a ton of potential.
Nathan Gutierrez
>gives the middle to incestfags >endorses furryfags I don't know which is worse
Robert Flores
Hell, I think giving him a redemption arc would be cool. Maybe he'd make a choice to only kill when he needed to.
Kayden Kelly
There's nothing that says Caim's love of Angelus is sexual though. Even if it is, he's too consumed with hatred and isn't supposed to be a good guy on account of his bloodlust. Taro paints pedos in a better light in his treatment of Leonard.
Which reminds me: If they were going to do a Drakengard 4, I think the protagonist would have to, personality wise, be this odd combination of Caim and Zero in a sense.
>Seeks to murder a bunch of specific people for seemingly no reason >Completely done with everyone's shit. "Leaving so so-" "Yes" >Entire motivation is because the people they've set out to butcher are vaguely related to the horrid state of the world and he's angry about it.
I think he loves Angelus because she's the only other being in existence that seemed to understand how he felt.
Ethan Bell
This is a thing? Because it's brilliant
John Bennett
She's cute
Asher Price
I think they ran out of time/budget in a lot of places. The stiff non-animated cut-scenes versus the FMV cutscenes are like night-and day. And they had all this hype over Zhangpo as a pact partner but you don't even see his pact beast in the game.
