pokemon emerald has the best soundtrack ever in any pokemon game and it feels so orchestral and whimsical and is super memorable.

the only thing i wish it had was the pokewalker but other than that it's my fav pokemon game ever, as pokemon peaked at this point just as pokemania started to slow down so a lot of people had no idea what they were missing out on.

It's a scam for people who bought the original, imperfect version of the game, because with those other franchises you can simply buy the DLC later for a reduced price, whereas in Pokemon you have to buy the entire game again at full fucking price. And you can't just rely on the 3rd version to come out either, because sometimes, like with X and Y, it never comes out, meaning you waited for nothing.

I'd still say platinum was the best one, but the designs of generation 3 are all fantastic. The only generation with any chance at rivalling them is gen 2 designs
