I like them both equally despite their major flaws. They are both very fun despite all the shit the franchise gets

First one had good characters and atmosphere to make up for its shortcomings, lots of wasted potential but overall a fun game. Didnt play the second one yet because everything I liked from the first game is not present but I heard the gameplay is better.

the brexit one

2. The first one is boring as hell, so boring that I didn't even finish it. 2 is really fun though, the gameplay is a million times better.

absolutely awful opinion, WD1 has far better gameplay. WD2 only mildly improved the hacking aspect by adding 2 gadgets that you will use in the most basic, ubisoft way throughout the entire game.

1 is OK but feels halfway finished and rushed out of the door and has an insultingly bad story. 2 is good but still feels 2/3 finished and isn't polished enough. WD2 story is very fun and worthwhile though.

First game had a nice cyberpunk-lite setting and atmosphere. Gunplay felt like a Tom Clancy game which I suppose is a good thing.

Second game had an absolutely painful plot to even attempt to pay attention to. Tone shift was pretty flippant about what is a very dystopic topic. The best aspect was gadgets being much more useful and plenty of non-lethal routes to take when tackling missions.

>Yas Forums now likes Watch_Dogs
what the fuck happened?

They’re all uninspired trash

none of them you fucking zoomer

WD1 was kind of a trainwreck but I really liked the second one. The third one doesn't look very promising, though. I enjoyed the light hearted, techie utopism of the second game, even if a lot of the humor falls flat.

> good characters
What? The MC is the most cringe worthy character I’ve ever played and I couldn’t bear it for more than 2 or 3 hours

>First one had good characters
Who? Jordi is where the "good characters" list begins and ends. Aiden is one of the worst protagonists you could ever play as. He's literally the cause of all of his problems, caused his niece I think it was to get shot, and brought a mafia kingpin to his doorstep because he was cocky and greedy. He also desperately wants to keep his family away from the conflict but brings them into the conflict because of how selfish and revenge-driven he is, not to mention a complete dick to his comrades. Clara I think her name was is barely in the game, and then you have the guy who Aiden blames for everything who did literally nothing wrong who just yells at him constantly.

>The great debate
Does anyone actually care enough about either to argue either way?

Watch Dogs 2 was an improvement over 1 in every single way. As goofy as the plot and characters were in 2, it was still miles better than the profoundly dumb plot of the first game, which had what is without a doubt, hands down, the blandest protagonist I have ever fucking seen in a video game; a man so boring, I'm physically incapable of remembering his name.

The gunplay in the first game was absolutely fucking lousy. It didn't matter where someone got hit, they would react exactly the same way; you could shoot someone in the toe, and they would just slump over dead. Even fucking Goldeneye had different animations depending on where someone was shot, and that game came out in 1997.

This is accurate and made the game unplayable for me

I WANT NEXT GEN SAN FIERRO

more like Yas Forums is now talking about whether it was ultimately worth pirating it or not

it's honestly hard to compare them. first one isn't as good from a gameplay perspective, but the whole "hacker" theme works MUCH better. the batman-lite protag might be a bit of whatever, but there's a serious plot and you really do get the sense that the whole city was designed just for this shit. it's believable that way.

2nd game is about a bunch of college kid leddit hackers who spend their time dredging up a middle-aged man's idea of meme culture while they decide to punk stand-ins for Martin Shkreli, scientologists, and Donald Trump. They can 3D print explosive-dropping drones and assault rifles and the big bad is a fucking hipster guy. almost the entire thing was played for laughs.

oh yeah i forgot a 3rd one was coming.

None

CP 2077 is releasing this year so there you go.

I liked 2 way better even though even though the main cast is almost entirely insufferable zoomers. It was a much more fun game to play than the first.

>almost the entire thing was played for laughs.

That's why it's better. The first game took itself way too seriously.

The third one looked interesting. Too bad it got more or less cancelled.

Multiplayer on the first game was one of the few times I ever had fun online. The hide and seek shit was amusing because 80% of people online didn't realize how obvious it was when they were moving around, so you just walk by, turn around and unleash the AA. The capture the flag game was also a blast.

>tfw second game ruined all this with drones

yeah but i kinda like how serious and edgy it was in a way. i know the game didn't look NEARLY as good as this when it first came out, but nobody could say this didn't look like the tightest shit ever. Got it wanting to pretend to be a cyber hacker man and for the most part, got it.

How come Aiden looks so /fa/ but if someone in real life dressed like him it would be cringe?

1 is based hacktivism but shit gameplay
2 is cringe hackerman memelord shit but good gameplay

Reminder that Ubisoft is never going to do a crossover between Watch Dogs and Assassins Creed despite confirming that the both take place in the same world in Origins

They are both cringe but in different ways. I think Ubisoft did it on purpose

Bad Blood makes 1 better

Flawed characters are not bad characters.

"You became the very thing you wanted to destroy" is arguably great storytelling. Dedsec ask Aiden to join and he calls them a bunch of kids who think they're gods. In the second game you go after people simply for slandering your crew and for personal revenge. "Too much power" is as valid a story beat as a powerful antagonist doing bad things.

The disconnect between the light heartedness and the ability to 3d print a grenade launcher and shotgun and go to town is as central as the "invasive technology dangerous" motif.

I'd rather have an Aiden Pierce and have him go whole hog than say, a Batman or Nathan Drake who pretend they aren't cold as fuck

The older I get the more I prefer aiden. He's relatable

they already did crossover though. in Black Flag, the boss you meet that works at Abstergo Entertainment disappears. In Watch_Dogs 1, you go on a mission to kill him.

i liked the darker mood 1 had. 2 was just le meme script kiddies

Aiden looks better but black man was more fun.

2 is the best, but Legion will be better.

I never played the second one but I was concerned the inclusion of drones would ruin the online, guess I was right.
I wonder how 3 will be, because I easily spent most of 1 just spamming invasions, it was fun as fuck, especially when you paused the game but it was still running in the background so you knew someone was in your game world stalking you.

>niggers using computers for anything other than uploading videos of them committing crimes to WorldStar

Attached: DEEP.jpg (264x320, 12.46K)

The drones are not as big of a problem as you think, most people dont think to use them.

>saying this so openly so that the one nigger that isnt a nigger orders 100 dildos to your house for talking shit.

I think you missed the entire point of the opening of the game user. Black people can study CS too.

the first WatchDogs was a hilarious fucking mess
>Plagued with constant crashes
>Graphical issues
>Dogshit writing
>God awful gameplay
>A story that was written by a literal 3 year old who watched too much batman

It was a fucking travesty
still the most fun I ever had playing a good bad game

Second one is better in pretty much every way.

It feels weird having weapons in the second one where the main characters are a bunch of nerdy teens.

black people can study CS

niggers can't

Glad you understand the difference but I'm pretty sure Marcus didn't learn C++ from the Aztecas at his local traphouse

The first one. They changed the controls in the second with no way to customize them back and they felt like shit. Also I don't want to play some uppity negro with his SJW friends.

WD1 was probably the closest we'll ever get to a Person of Interest game so it's clearly the better of the two.

1 was the only ubishit game I actually finished if only too see the way you beat the final boss. Going full asshole and grenading the fuck out of mooks and the fuckwad who thought he was the shit because he lived in some fortified apartment. That guy was so fucking obnoxious

>2 is the best, but Legion will be better.
No it wont.
The preview look like shit.

Also fucking Brexit game? Really? Fucking Brexit came and went, nothing happened, cant wait to play a game that will tell me that actually Britain become a fascist state.

the preview looked awesome, also i really like the setting.

Aiden was absolutely based. The edgy lines he said at the start of each side mission were top tier. We dont get MCs like him anymore.

The first game had the T-Bone DLC campaign so it's automatically better

1 felt more atmospheric ? i got so immersed into 1 that i didn't do anything else except playing the game back in 2014, didn't follow the news so i didn't know anything about the downgrades but 2 had it's own moment but if i want to replay either one of them gotta go with 1

Based aiden poster

1 had a sort of realistic, broken family/world vibe to it that showed the strength of the writing. The characters are consistent and flawed which makes the story a little more gritty and dark. The second game was almost the complete opposite. It was unrealistic and campy with more "fun" characters and zany situations. idk which one is worse, both aren't great but for entirely different reasons.

2 has the better open world. I like both but 2 was my favorite. I really wish Legion would come out soon
