So...those chase sequences. What do you think of them?

game's a shit
Easily game of the year already.
I love them, but holy shit the giant worm was AIDS
very good. I'm glad there's no checkpoints fuck casuals. doing it in one clean go is satisfying.
as soon as I even take damage on a boss fight or chase I restart.
I hated it most. That moment it went round in a loop near the end almost finished me.
That last boss was frustrating. I literally couldn't top my health up when the platforms got taken away. Couldn't nail any reliable tactic.
serves you right for relying on healing cheater.
Sorry but making the charge attack smoke black against purple is bad game design.
just get the "restore energy on melee attacks" and "excess life goes to energy and vice versa" = infinite healing
I honestly thought it was bugged.
You guys played in what difficulty?
The chase sequences get harder, the worm on hard has literally less than a second of error window.
Normal. Probably makes no difference on those sections other than maybe an extra second for user error.
It makes a huge difference, acording to the dev.
Combat in this game is not very good, way too fucking shallow, actually makes the game worse than the first one.
That is impressive aesthetically and gives me warm feelings inside. Like a puppy protected from the Wu Flu
kino
How many times you died on the worm?
I honestly died a good 50 times, also on hard.
I died twice in the first one against the water worm and the game bugged and won't trigger the destruction at the beggining of the chase, it really killed al the mood since i had to close and open the game again
Fuck these devs, im starting ot believe more and more they don't even tested the game before the release.
Died 40 times on worm
Overall died around 300 times
Why does every single Indie platformer exploration game look the same? Always oversaturated blending colors and the aesthetics always looks kind of the same.
There are two overpowered abilities so using the rest against enemies seems pointless. I just throw those fiery ball things into enemies mostly. Made the spirit trials straightforward.
Everyone wants to be like Ori.
Even a coronavirus variant (Wenjia).
This game was so good it made the first one better.
It has a very well tailored story.
>mouldwood depths
>section where you have to jump on a bunch of spider sacks to get to the end
>in no predictable way the spider bags have 0 weight and get pushed away from ori before I can jump off of them
>can only get through the section by spamming jump and hoping it bugs out and launches me through
help
>playing race
>beat it within the time
>try again to improve time
>it now has 5 ori ghosts of other players jumping all over the place distracting the shit out of me
>literally no option to turn them off
I wish I could kiss Ori. It'd be long and passionate. We'd pull away from each other, panting heavily and looking into each other's eyes. The strong blush on Ori's pale face would only make it hotter.
This is the ideal sequel. Taking everything good about the original and improving it and taking everything bad about the original and fixing it.
What? That was the only chase sequence where I didn't die at all. And 2's chases are way easier all around than 1's were.
Just equip all the damage boosting shards and it dies in like 5 seconds after the platforms are all gone.
Only one of those gave me trouble but it seems that hitting them closest to the top leaves you more able to grab them than getting them near the bottom.
I'm still looking for someone playing on hard who is near the end of the game (or has finished the game, since the game keeps up older backup saves), who I could get a save file from. The game is softlocked for me and I can't proceed through the final(?) door.
That tiny delay after switching abilities before you can use it triggers me, ahh.
Let me guess, you were playing on easy?
Sonic freedom unironically should have copied ori like it was originally supposed to.
youtube.com
I hate to say it but all the background art they did. copying anime standards... doesn't work. it needs to go much higher quality like rayman origins or ori and really communicate depth and terrain layers so the player doesn't get confused.
Who else wants to fuck Ori?
how about you go fuck yourself degenerate.
Why do you think it's softlocked?
I sequence broke into luma pools, got the wisp from there before getting the quest to actually collect the wisps, resulting in the wisp not actually showing up in my inventory. No way to regrab the wisp, and the door doesn't let me through.
Wow, that sucks.
I sequence break to the sand ruins and the door is closed. Why the fuck they left a story progression trigger activated in a metroidvania?
why would they program it like that? either getting the wisp should trigger the next stage of progression or the wisp shouldn't appear until you get the quest.
but I want Ori.
>yeah they won't kill-
>ok but they won't also kill -
I don't regret buying the triple jump right away. So much cheesing around corners.
Is it supposed to be so fucking sad? Two main characters are dead and I'm 10 hours in. Fun game but it's making me feel feels and I don't like it.
Spoiler tags. Use them
Retard
I just finished the story and I want to die.
They were all pretty good but pretty easy
Just contact the devs on Discord or whatever, it's a small """"indie"""" studio so they should answer.
I didn't pay much attention to the game's development or hype cycle or whatever, but am i the only one that felt bait and switched with the owl? The owl is in every promotional artwork of the game, but you play with the owl for like 5 minutes and then it doesn't do dick for the rest of the game.
Until the worm on hard mode
Look at your inventory/powers screen. Get it now?
They're aware of the issue, unknown if or when it's getting fixed.
Good thing I bought and upgraded the lightning bolt just before the fight, it's a life saver in the final phase
Using bash on its projectiles dealt a fuckload of damage.
Overall pretty great, about as good as the first game. I love how some were integrated into the bossfights, .
The worm was a bitch on hard, Must've died at least 30 times. Worst part is it doesn't really matter how well you do early on because he'll accelerate once you reach specific points so you can't get a head start.
they weren't nearly as hard as 1's escapes
go back
THAT
FUCKING
WORM
I dont think I'll do a no deaths run, not while that cancer waits at the end to ruin fucking everything
Very good, way better than the original which was also really good, and i know this is unfair to Ori, but after Hollow Knight i really want my Metroidvanias to be as big and last as long as humanly possible, so since it took me 13 hours to 100% it, i was a bit disappointed, just a little bit though.
