Given how disapointing DS3 actually is, I have been itching to replay DS2, give me a new perdpective. Only I hate buying games twice, and I have it on PS3. Is Scholar edition (next gen) worth the double dip, does it provide a better experience than the standard edition ?

it just changes enemies positions and includes the dlc? Might look better I am not sure, it can't change a whole lot but its enough to warrant a rebuy. (at least for me)

not worth it, i hate DS2 but personally think its better then Scholar

Not everything next gen Scholar does is good. For example, they ruined the game with the stupid statues blocking a lot of passages early on to try and force the player to follow certain paths.

Yikes, and already played the DLCs on standard
Wtf happened with From and giving players options

If you get SotFS make sure its on PC.
In my opinion yes its worth it.

I have now played both, fairly recently actually.

imo you should play the base game first if you either aren't interested in pvp or plan on playing again for pvp (which you should do anyways because of soul memory) because scholar is the only one that has a community. The base game still has some of the shitty parts of scholar, ie no man's wharf, iron keep, and shrine of amana, but scholar is pretty much just a mob shitshow in pretty much all areas compared to the original and the enemy placement makes a lot less sense. Scholar is pretty much daughters of ash ds2, the enemy rearrangement is pretty much just there if you've played the original enough times that you jack off to the emerald herald on the daily.

The worst thing Scholar does is putting more of those statues in various places, forcing you to acquire more branches. If it's on sale, or if you can get it for cheap off Amazon or something, go ahead and get it.

>it just changes enemies positions and includes the dlc?
there's a bit more to it than that

>make sure its on PC.
I played the original DS2 and all dlcs on the PS3, then I moved to PS4 scholar and finally got it on PC. To be quite honest with you I really see no difference between PS4 and PC.
