When the fuck are we getting an ICO remake
I was just wondering that when I finished the remake the other day actually.
>you just know they would throw lots of SOTC and TLG easter eggs into ICO
What makes you think he didn’t slay all those colossi on the same day she passed?
That's unlikely, as traversing the lands takes quite a bit of time and he passes out for some unknown duration after slaying each one and then reawakens at the Shrine of Worship.
But even if we assume that it all takes place in one day, Mono's body would go through several stages after her death. None of which would make her look as pristine as she appears throughout the entire game.
There is also a theory that time in the Forbidden Lands simply does not exist and this is why she doesn't deteriorate. (the sky never changes, supporting this theory)
2011
A wizard did it, or in this case, Dormin.
No, that was a remaster. The same year a SOTC remaster came out. Both of those were identical to the old PS2 version except with higher resolution.
We're wondering about a full remake, made from scratch, with modern PS4 graphics. Such as the SOTC remake that is currently on PS Plus.
Did we ever find out of the Sword of Dormin that was added to the PS4 remake does anything special?
time stopped the moment wander entered the forbidden lands. hence why it's day throughout the game. hell, there's not even a sun.
>no sun
Then what is that huge source of light in the sky to the south that is present at all times, making Wander's shadow always face north?
It's strong but lowers your health regen
try to find it, fucker
>never used flash arrows as a kid because I thought what fucking use is a flash bang against stone titans
>mfw I unlock them and try them since it was free on ps+
Yeah, but Dormin ominously laughs when we pick it up. And there are various goat carvings found in the remake. Goats have horns. What are those goat carvings for? So far, four have been found, but there may be more. Maybe the Sword of Dormin can be used in a specific way at a specific place to trigger something.
It's interesting of note that it is impossible to see the throne room below the Shrine of Worship where the sword is located until you collect all the new coins. Clipping through the temple, does not trigger the throne room. It's entirely invisible. So there may be more things in the game that only trigger under specific circumstances.
If that's not the sun, then what is it? You can see it from any place in the forbidden lands. Is it just an uknown light source?
Goats are associated with Dormin, Wander reincarnates with horns. There's nothing deep to it. Dormin laughs because you picked up a cursed sword that has tradeoffs.
But the goats weren't in the original PS2 release. They were added for the remake and only 4 have been discovered so far. For a world as huge as the forbidden lands, having 4 goat carvings seems like there is something to it.
If it was only one carving, I'd say it's just a reference to somehting (like the The Last Guardian easter egg or the water melon at the ICO beach), but having 4 goats in such a huge game world seems oddly specific.
Interns have to contribute somehow even if it is just a goat they modeled
I wish they added the deleted 8 colossi from the original release as like a non-canon DLC, especially the Devil and Phoenix colossi seem interesting visually.
I platinum'd this yesterday. It was pointlessly long and hard, made me replay the game ad nauseum.
The remake is perfect, no complaints about that. But it is widely known that only half of the original colossi made it into the game, I wish they would've made an extended remake of it, including all 32 originally intended, or at least the 24 that were actually worked on.
I know ICO comes after Shadow of the Colossus in the timeline, but where does the Last Guardian fit in?
Yeah I really don't know why people dislike the remake.
what did adam sandler think of the remake-
who cares last guardian sucks
The remake is fucking amazing with the forbidden lands but wander is a completely different character
Is Wander the most powerful simp of all time?
Iirc it's either before ICO or just a random place in the world
Kill yourself.
You mean his face? Yeah I don't dislike his new face. But other than that, I'm loving everything about the new graphics engine.
I wish they made more games like this.
I fucking hate moviegames.
Good gameplay but at this point I don't think we'll find it
What the hell bro?
Take it back!
don't like his new face*
Due to his new expressions and stuff he's a completely different character from the original
This so much.
I love how the game never tells you to eat lizards to improve stamina. It never tells you to eat fruit to improve health. It never tells you to find the coins or hold onto the hawk. You're not bombarded with side quests, nothing. You just go out and either kill the bosses, having to figure out how to climb them yourself, or explore the land and come to your own conclusions about the story.
The fact you're given so few instructions and nobody else to interact with in the world is what made it so mysterious and endearing and spawned so many theories.
I hate games that spoonfeed you everything, while distracting you with hundreds of sidequests to give you the illusion of depth.
Did Wander ever...
There are more games like this, ICO and Last Guardian
Who was your favourite Colossi
Who was your least favourite
I liked Pelagia the most, he had a cool design and an interesting fight
Least liked was this faggot and trying to finagle him over a geyser
Some dudes theorized that the game took place in a pre-diluvian society because dormin is supposed to be nimrod, what are the chances?
I like the one that flies over the desert. It's completely docile and just enjoying the desert sun and it looks fucking impressive flying around like that. Then we go and smash it :(
>>Mono doesn't decompose
The events of the game take place over a single day. What were you expecting?

These. Wander viewing Mono's corpse on the altar in the PS2 version is solemn, but determined. PS4 remake he's sullen, on the verge of giving up. It's not wholly a negative, but it is worth noting.
No they don't. Wander passes out after each colossus is slain and some time passes. The Forbidden Land however does not have "days" as we call them. Time does not exist there. The time of day never changes. The light never changes. Mono's body does not deteriorate in any way. The only one who deteriorates is Wander and that's because he is slaying the colossi and is corrupted by Dormin's energy. The events OUTSIDE of the Forbidden Land (Emon and his guys) do take place within only a few hours. But as far as we know at least several "days" pass within the Forbidden Land. You just can't tell because time is "frozen" inside. This is evident when we kill colossus 12 (or was it 13?) and see a cutscene of Emon and his men still in pursuit about to reach the entrance, and above the Forbidden Land is a weird ominous dark light source that does not at all look like the light source within the Forbidden Land. The time of day outside the entrance is totally different than inside.
In short:
>time outside Forbidden Land is only a few hours
>time inside is at least several days
>Mono does not decompose because time is standing still inside the Forbidden Land
maybe its dormin
This is very possible, because when we see the Forbidden Land from Emon's point of view as he approaches the entrance, it looks completely different, evil. But Wander inside the lands, sees it as this shining light in the sky, giving the impression it's good natured. It's a trick by Dormin, most likely.
Hated the lake one because it just kept doing things that it felt like.
favorite was phalanx (flying sandworm/twinmold)
The cutscene with Emon is the biggest clue that time flows differently or not at all within the forbidden land. Because how else do you explain someone riding toward an entrance taking as long as slaying several colossi.
idk that was added by Bluepoint not Ueda. But we can associate Dormin with goats because of the recurring theme of goat horns revolving around him.
>Wander passes out after each colossus is slain and some time passes
For all we know it could just be a minute. We know he passes out, gets teleported back and wakes up
Yes. But why those 4 in those specific locations? What's the signifance to leave them there.
Still Wander is human and would presumably need rest and sleep after climbing several colossi and defeating them. 16 is a lot for a human being in one day. And remember the sky and time of day outside the forbidden lands is totally different than inside, both in the intro and when we see Emon approaching.
We already know time is not as it seems, because there is no passage of time. The sun does not move. Shadows always point north, no matter where you are.
>Still Wander is human and would presumably need rest and sleep after climbing several colossi and defeating them
He was getting more of Dormin's power after each Colossi so I don't think so
Whatever happened to Praey for the Gods? It was a SotC clone. Did it get cancelled? It was announced before the SotC Remake even.
the remake isn't canon and the sword cave is big time bullshit
The idea of Wander speedrunning 16 colossi while Emon is in persuade is hilarious to me. Unless time flows very slowly in the Forbidden Land.
The remake is 100% canon.
What is not canon however are all the optional items you can unlock, such as the Queen's Sword (which is in the PS2, PS3 and PS4 versions) and Dormin's Sword (only in the PS4 version). It's just bonus unlockables that are meant to give the player some replay value. It makes no sense for the Queen's Sword to be there (or the water melon for that matter)
is ueda working on something else right now? what's left of the original team ico? where did they go?
It was put in because so many fans spent a decade looking for "the last big secret." So they had to give them something for all the hard work and theorizing.
yeah i know, but it's so underwhelming they might as well not have added anything.
picking 79 coins (why 79) for getting a sword sitting on a glowing ass pc gaymer seat like throne isn't something i'd have hoped for
Early access. Recent update a week ago.
Any good?
asking directly from ueda to add more unlockable non canon areas end game with some of the unused colossi. that would have been something
I would love to see that Devil colossus brought to life ugh
I noticed in the remake that's on PS+ currently that some of the light pillars have white birds circling them, while others do not. What's the significance of that? (by light pillars I mean the ones that shoot up to the sky where a dead colossus is lying)
I don't know if the birds around some of the pillars were in the PS2 version
It's alright. The bosses are amazing but the controls are way to clunky.
so it's like sotc?
