I don't understand two monitor setups for gaming. I don't know how people can stand them. I find it so distracting to have the light from a second monitor on my peripheral vision while I'm trying to focus on my game. I prefer one monitor, full screen gaming for full immersion. Not having some tab open to talk to people and check on news. Just gaming. And no this is not a thread to post your room, this is just some image I got off google. I want to discuss PC gaming.

Second monitor good for chat programs/streaming/shit like that. When I buy a new monitor I'm going to use my old one to browse Yas Forums while I wait for things in games.

For intense games that require attention you can just disable your second monitor. Just press the button found on the monitor.
For more slow paced games such as mmos and arpgs I open streams on the second monitor to keep me company.

I'm the same way. But instead of being an austist and making a Yas Forums thread I just TURN THE OTHER MONITOR OFF.

I have two monitors because I often work from home. Whether I use the second while playing depends on what I play.
For slower paced games where I would often alt-tab to check on stuff I leave it on.
For more immersive games I turn it off.

What I do is set a pure black background on the second monitor and have it not display any taskbar by default. That means when no window is displayed on it the background lighting turns off and it looks exactly like when the monitor is turned off.

Need is a strong word. It's more for making things more convenient.
For example, doing something on one monitor and having the documentation of it on the other.

Because I use it. A lot. So its nice to have the option. I also use multiple computers, so I can have 1 screen be Mac OS or Windows as I primarily use linux. If you don't need it, don't use it.

They said it was just a flu, that it was only in China, but every day I hear of more and more cases, more and more deaths, it's spreading more and more in the US. The stock market is crashing HARD Some people are in denial but everyone else is waking up. It's getting worse and worse.

multiple displays are great for games, especially racing. also great for productivity applications. if all you do is shitpost on Yas Forums all day then yeah one display is enough.

It's a little more than "just a flu" but not much more than that. Just like the flu, you'll get a cold and some fever. Just like the flu, elderly and those with underlying conditions are at risk. However, the main difference is these riskgroups are at a much higher risk compared to the flu, and it appears to transmit much more easily. Most likely because our bodies does not have any immunity towards the virus in comparison to the flu. That last bit is only my personal speculation though.

It's not for competitive gaming or anything it's to have more space to have music, Yas Forums, youtube/twitch up to watch while doing boring game stuff like in MMOs

Second monitor for watching films, chatting, editing images/video, and even for some games like Supreme Commander that supports it. I use it too, although I do plan to buy a third one aswell.

Sure, but 1080p is usually more than enough for media. There's not a lot of stuff that's mastered at 4k.

funny enough a lot of the dumbass low end streamers spend like 5k on a streaming setup and then they start streaming to 1 viewer (themselves)

Yes. That's how it will go down for 95% of infected. You'll get sick, watch some anime, sleep, get healthy. It takes longer than regular flu though, so expect 3-5 weeks for being sick. You may experience difficulty breathing but that's normal. If you experience severe difficulty breathing, call the emergency services. However, that's unlikely to happen unless you are 60+ or have reduced immune systems.

When I want two monitors I just put my laptop on my desk next to my PC monitor. I've tried a proper multi monitor set up before but it just wasn't for me. Maybe my desk is too small but the second monitor just always feels in the way any time it's not in use.

I'd like to try an ultra wide monitor some day maybe though.
