Who do you like to play?
Who do you like to play?
Charlotte is a lot of fun
Ukyo and QT3.14 Wu
Goty 2019, with its unique fighting game style system, plus SNK dont give a fuck about "them".
I will always support companies who side with gamers instead of pandering to morons that plague the industry.
Oh...Haohmaru and Jubei, btw.
Genjuro
>TFW Coronavirus kills this game's tournament lifespan
Fuck. I was going to go to three majors this year just to play Samsho, but here we are.
>i will play this incel pandering kusoge because im a mindless drone
lmao
the game is good though retard
>the game is good
LMAO
Haohmaru and Darli.
Darli and Kazuki for me though I prefer Enja
I want to play rimururu but way difficult.
Shizumaru. I use Ukyo pretty often and want to start using Kazuki
Samurai Shodown and Under Night are the only truly great fighting games this gen.
>SFV/KOFXIV/KI/PRBFTG
They all fucking sucked at launch, and took them months to get good. Hell, SFV took 4 years.
>Xrd
Hard =/= Good. Danger Time and YRC are the two worst mechanics this entire generation. Yes, even worse than super dash from DBZ. Anyone who has played GG for a while can tell you Xrd is the worst GG since the original, but new fans are too shitty to understand why and eat up whatever they're fed because the game is pretty, while pretending they're somehow superior to people who play DBZF.
>DBZF
It's Marvel, but instead it's got dumb ASW style never ending corner pressure, no 8 way airdash, and boring ass movesets.
>MvCI, BBCTB
Half assed asset flips
>NRS games
lmao
can some Sambro help me out? i want to buy this game, because it looks really cool, but basically i have to play online, right?
But how is the gameplay overall? it looks like you really have to be careful and wait for the right moment to attack and it doesn't have many combos, is that right? because i absolutely suck at 2D fighters and cancelling into other attacks like in JIve.
this man gets it except UNIEL was trash
UNIST was good and UNICLR is great
tekken?
Do you -want- to play online? You can do whatever you want. It's got your standard single player arcade experience in that there's an introduction to your character, a "rival" cutscene that you have to fight against, and a legitimate boss that you need to face at the end. You can also collect endings.
Aside from that, DLC characters are available. As for gameplay, there are a few combos involved but there is slightly more emphasis on big damage being delivered in the single stroke of your weapon.
It's not MvC-levels of crazy but it can still be a solid fighter.
Samshofags will try to get you to believe the game's about "neutral" or "footsies" but the truth is that all you have are simple SF inputs and basic hits with very few real combos, pursuit options or mechanics. It's an extremely simple fightan where you defend and then punish. Which... I guess might appeal to people like us who aren't into fighting games.
KI is still good desu
>resetera calling anyone a drone
kys tranny, you'll never pass anyway.
Shizumaru and Kazuki
Rimururu & Charlotte
I just wish the online wasn't so dead, even finding a match during prime time on Friday/Saturday can take a while
as Hibiki but she's from a different fighter
The Last Blade?
She's pretty chill to fight as, even for a iaidofag
Been playing fighters for 20 years, and you got shit all wrong. This game was targeted at old people who played games back in the 90s. Since then, there's been an increased emphasis in fighting games on optimization:
>Study your combos
>Study pre-recorded series of moves that are strong
>Study quirks of the game engine you can take advantage of if the opponent doesn't know about it
>Study the most effective setups that are hard for the opponent to properly guess
>Study obscure setups that people fall for because they don't understand how they work
Samurai Shodown was made for players who are tired of that shit, and want to go the entire opposite direction. This game is about three things:
>Control spacing so that your moves are effective, but the opponents are not
>Figure out what the opponent likes to do, and take advantage of it
>Constantly weigh the risk and potential rewards of everything you do, at all times
SamSho was designed to be the opposite of modern trends in fighting games. Everything rewarding is high risk. Learning about the game mechanics isn't as important as learning how to outsmart players.
So no, it's not really a simple game, just one that doesn't prioritize going into training mode and doing a 100 hit combo for 3 hours. Other than SamShoVSpecial, the only other game I can really compare it to is Third Strike, or at least what Third Strike is when you first get into it, before you start figuring out how high level setups make the game less interesting.
Fair enough, but Tekken got two shitty years of the arcade version as a head start. Mark my words, if vanilla T7 had been on consoles, people would have lost their fucking minds.
Iroha when she comes out
SnK has the two best female fighter design with Mai and Iroha
PC RELEASE WHEN?!
The PC waiting game
>big jugs good
so basically SamSho is not about rushing in and unga bunga, but about taking your time and only attack when it seems right?
>>Control spacing so that your moves are effective, but the opponents are not
>>Figure out what the opponent likes to do, and take advantage of it
>>Constantly weigh the risk and potential rewards of everything you do, at all times
And this doesn't apply to other fighting games how exactly?
I'm still pissed they put this on fucking Stadia but still haven't put it on PC. Even ASW can put their games on PC in a timely manner these days but SNK manages to be a decade behind.
>no new stages in Season 2
>no netcode or balancing adjustments in Season 2
>no word on PC version
It was worth it seeing the director squirm on stream when asked these questions but damn
for me, it's Tam tam
also I like Nakoruru and Kazuki
Pretty much, a well placed heavy slash on counterhit can do ridiculous amounts of damage. Not really to say it's slow either though. Characters and playstyles can vary a lot, especially at higher levels
>turned down Epic's offer to buy 500k copies upfront Ebin Game Store exclusivity
>Go with fucking Stadia instead
I will never cease seething over this shit. It'd eventually be thrown out as a monthly freebie, and pretty much have an endless playerbase that doesn't take twenty minutes a match or using Discord
that sounds like a game to me. is there a demo on PS4 or something?
because it's still 60 bucks.
I don't think there's a demo. What you could do is you could emulate Samurai Shodown 2 or 5 special on Neogeo to get the feel out for the series, 7 isn't exactly like them but it's similar.
>someone who is seen as a creepy dude in a dress is upset he isn't represented
SFV did it 4 years ago this is nothing special.
Danger time is probably one of the least offensive new mechanics in this gen simply because it's rare.
Samsho is also a complete turd. It's basically Fantasy Strike with SNK skin.
The difference is, this game is actually good.
granblue is getting my money instead, fuck snk
>big milkers bad
IT's also dead sadly. I'd LOVE to play it, but I don't think the storymode alone is worth it.
Speaking of which, anyone played that Fighting Layer EX game on Steam?
>Samsho is also a complete turd. It's basically Fantasy Strike with SNK skin.
Samsho is probably older than you, fucking idiot
I am perfectly aware it's an old series, I've played one of the older titles in an arcade. But in comparison to current games that's basically what it boils down to.
When the fuck is this shit coming out on PC? This looks just like the type of Boomer Fighting Game that I could enjoy. I've been trying out and liking FighterZ as well, but the tagging system and crazy pressure/loops is bit too much for me.
I think he means in the sense that it emphasises those things moreso than other fighters lately which has been obfuscating the main focus with their newer additions.
That's a really generous way to say that it only has the basics and none of the complex mechanics the genre has been adding over the years. Ironically this is also true of the game's general systems, even compared to some of the stuff they've had in recent KoF games to say nothing of SFV the game is so barebones you could slap it on Neo-Geo and one would've noticed the fraud.
People say the Windows Store/XBox side of the netplay is actually still reasonably populated
Steam matchmaking's dead as hell though and I'm not buying the W10 definitive edition at full price
Apparently FEXL was a terrible port or had extra broken netcode or something, I remember vaguely hearing complaints about it and the highest average players was 16
>Mika got CA censored because muh urinalists screeching
Yeah right.
Shiki, Kazuki and Rimururu with some Yoshitora on the side for fun sword pull attempts.
Yoshitora and Kazuki, though I don't play the game that much.
Same with Cammy's CA and her nipples.
charlotte and kazuki though i haven't had much time to play the later due to trying to clear my backlog some
where's my basara bros at
GG isn't that hard though and DT and YRC are fun.
