Because it's popular, and I base my entire personality around hating things that normal people like because I despise them for living full lives with friends and romantic relationships. Being contrarian gives me a false sense of superiority because I think not liking a popular video game makes me more intelligent and interesting than the normies I so desperately envy.

Yas Forums is an anonymous board. you can get away with insulting popular and successful thing without registering yourself as an asshurt retard like elsewhere.

It's worse than 1 and 2

this is a Bloodlines 2 board

If it doesn't have anime women, Yas Forums isn't interested. Just look at "games" like Fire Emblem.

The gameplay is rotten garbage.

>Fire Emblem
never played anime games. why are you so obsessed over them?

I like to suck air up my bumhole and then fart it out

It's actually resetera trannies hating on it they think it's too white and have an axe to grind with CDPR

It peddles a lot of the aaa cancer mechanics we've seen in open world games but gets away with it by being made by slavs and a very polished product and having some greatly told stories within it. In other words it's good, but doesn't deserve its reputation of pushing gaming forward or whatever since it really just leans a lot on cancerous trends and individually the mechanics aren't even executed that well, such as the looting, crafting, level up system etc, they'r eall very mediocre.

That being said HoTS is 10/10 and blood and wine is 8/10.

Who else is just here for the Drowners™ copypasta?

No it's not.

Its only elder scrolls and zelda fags that hate it, its an exceptional game and probably tied with RDR 2 as best of the generation for me

I always see a lot of praise for BaW but never HoS. I always see HoS as better, for the sole reason of exploring Oxenfurt and for being a generally "fun" experience.

Nice to see another user really liking HoS.

>It peddles a lot of the aaa cancer mechanics
I think this is more of a problem for the unemployable NEETs that you typically find on Yas Forums, who have time play videogames for 100 hours per week, more than it is for normal people. I've heard this complaint before, but I have no idea what it really means, because I only play two or three "real" games a year. Most of the problems people here have with videogames are solved by getting a job and not playing so much, so things stop seeming so repetitive.

HoS is superior solely for Shani. I imagine her wafting cunt scent nearly every day.

is it possible to learn this power?

Why is this game praised on Yas Forums?

why is this game?

...because it's a bad game? I've played few games with such dreadful fucking combat

it's more likely that you're rather young and haven't played games growing up so you have nothing to compare it to. If you think hud indicators for everything, being led by the hand for everything and interactivity boiling down to walking foward and pressing glowing highlighted things on the ground is the only way to do things, then sure, but it's not, and it's a very poor use of videogames as a medium. You don't have to be a loser to recognize that.

>elder scrolls and zelda fags

No it's actually all souls fags. They hate it cause "muh combat" as if combat is the only reason to play an open world RPG. Also because W3 destroyed Bloodborne in 2015 goty awards.

I'm pretty old actually, enough that I can remember people whining about Bloodlines having been dumbed down from Redemption. I can remember when most of the games most of you pretend to have played for what passes as "street cred" here were first announced.

I frequently see Detective Vision, "Witcher Sense", etc. blasted, and I understand the criticism, even if I don't agree with it. But the core issue with those systems is that they need to present a character as a master detective, or a master hunter, when the player isn't. How else do you do it?

because it's loved everywhere else

>W3 destroyed Bloodborne in 2015 goty awards
Goddamn what a sweet time that was. I fucking hate Souls fags, and that was a Christmas neverending.

Attached: lolcroix.gif (245x138, 499.41K)

2015 was a great year.

Yas Forums is exactly the same as sites like Rotten Tomatoes, a bunch of idiots who's irrelevant opinions are noted and duly ignored.

The combat system is shit. Core movement is shit(the patch shouldn't have needed to happen)Horizon based landmarking is shit(there isn't any), there's more but those are the top

No, the game is bad

Because it's popular.

>But the core issue with those systems is that they need to present a character as a master detective
This is a good point. Though I'd argue that you could combine pressing prompts on the ground with some more traditional level design of finding your own way, or Geralt giving you a clue by saying something that then leads you to follow up on the next clue instead of just being given yet another trail on the ground.

As far as fatigue goes I and many others feel that even if they haven't played open world games in a long while they still feel the fatigue as soon as they watch a video of some gameplay or try it out. Last far cry game I played was 3 when it came out and yet I have no desire to play the sequels, because they are just too similar to all the other ubisoft-like games. I forced myself through AC origins after having played ac 3 last which came out ages ago. Maybe you have a higher threshold or simply like those games more ,but it doesn't matter how much time passes really, a few hours in and I just end up not having fun and just feeling like gaming isn't progressing in this particular genre at all while just being dummed down continously.

It crossed the popularity threshold, which triggers smooth brains here to hate it, as a way to signal to everyone how smart they are. You can't be smarter and better than "the masses" if you're just agreeing with them, they have to be wrong, and you have to be right. That same dynamic drives 99% of the stupid shit that passes for discussion here.

It's a game.

Who's praising it on Yas Forums? Witcher 3 is trashed, Half-Life series is called a tech demo, New Vegas "was never good". This site exists to suck off gachas and Nip waifu simulators, that's it.

Because it was the tipping point for the industry. It marked a change in CD Projekt from passionate nerds making games they would like to typical corpo.
Gaming before it and after it is completely different. Now more than ever games have to fill some sort of checklist of required features that will sell instead of making something with soul.

Attached: 1583937965059m.jpg (910x1024, 62.18K)

The common denominator there is that those games/series are broadly regarded as good, and broadly praised - fertile ground for a sub-80 IQ narcissist to plant his flag, and let everyone know what he's right about, that everyone else is wrong about.

you know i never considered that but knowing how rabid form fanboys are it makes sense

the funniest thing about it is that when you look at souls trash, they all have shit combat. nothing about their combat is particularly interesting or inspiring, there's no combos, all you do is press R1 or R2. Nothing else. bloodborne was supposed to have great combat because in that one you have one extra attack to transform a weapon, lmao those games have a fucking joke combat system.

>It marked a change in CD Projekt
how so?

Well put. You can see that they just put things in teh game for the sake of "It's in right now" instead of thinking more about what the game needed, which is what they did previously. You could see some of it sneaking in in 2, but here it was just full on display.

>all that post release FLC support
>patch support up to 2018
>very low selling pricepoint for 12/10 DLCs filled to the brim with content that other devs would sell as standalone games
CDPR is the most consumer friendly developer in the entire industry. But I get it, that's not enough. nothing will ever satisfy upstuck cunts like you that were born to bitch and moan.

Fuck if I know. This game is literally a masterpiece.

>Masterpiece

"No!"

Witcher 3 is a good game in the same way that a marvel superhero movie might accidentally be good. It's multi-million dollar, safe, focus-tested, corporate garbage for the masses. Literally its only purpose is to generate billions of dollars worth of profit from the low-IQ beer-guzzling McDonald's-eating retards that outnumber real humans. Except this time, it also happened to be a good game.

But masterpiece? This AAA normie marvel tier game, no matter how good it is, will never even approach the level of masterpiece or cult classic of something like Bloodborne. Because its focus is too broad. Appeal to everyone, excel at nothing. That's its motto, and every AAA game's motto. If the game happens to be good, great! But it will never be a masterpiece. There is no soul. No master spark of creativity, which is the very life force and essence that the word "masterpiece" refers to. Someone had a vision, and painstakingly crafted an artistic achievement by infusing their very soul on a metaphysical level into the finished piece. Not so with Witcher 3. It is a product, not art, and it is corporate achievement, not an artistic one. And it is certainly no masterpiece.

What's funny is Bioware helped CDPR get off their feet, so yes, they were just following trends with the sex scenes

t. lauren hissrich

Attached: picket.jpg (1080x2688, 323.24K)

they were following trends with sex scenes they had in their games since TW2? how do "people" like you justify breathing?

Bioware was following, not CDPR. CDPR had sex scenes in The Witcher 1, Bioware gave technical assistance for it while CDPR was using aurora, and decided to implement the same in Mass Effect/Dragon Age. The idea that CDPR was chasing anyone by having the same content in The Witcher 3 that they largely pioneered and popularized in video gaming is asinine.

Witcher 2 was a hub-world game where choices made allowed for seeing completely different parts of the map depending on what you chose. It fit the choices and consequences theme they were going for perfectly and really made it feel like your choices had an impact. It also allowed the story to stay focused and to keep up a good pace. In this sense it was less bloated when it came to the story and offered something very unique in this regard.

The open world itself in 3 doesn't take advantage of any of the strengths of open world as a concept. The freeroam exploration is near non-existent. Every point of interest is laid out on the map as ?-icons and are limited to bandit camps and chest protected by wolves. There's nar none "Oh, what's that in the distance?" that happens since quests and more interesting things like that are nearly never stumbled upon. They're all concentrated in the villages. And once you start a quest in a village, you are basically put on rails 9/10 times. It's oftne instanced with cutscenes taking you to different places, following linear paths on the ground, basically just copying rockstars outdated design but worse, like the open world was just a giant level selector for the linear quest.

The crafting and loot system is very basic and you replace your weapons all the time, making finding loot feeling very unsatisfying. Even if you go on big crafting quests those may be obsolete shortly after since there's always a better upgrade of the same armor around the corner.

For a game about monsterhunting in an open world, it really doesn't use that at all to its advantage. You don't feel like the monsters are out there prowling, you feel like you're in an open area with pretty window dressing until you accept the quest that will spawn the cutscene to spawn the monster more often than not.
