I like Arthur but that's the one portrait where he literally looks like a gay pornstar that is just about to mercilessly destroy someone's anus in the next 5 minutes from that shot.
John was better in the first game
That's the thing, he can kind of ALWAYS look like that if you set up his hair the right way. Arthur is the Chad of the Wild West, fucking peak facial aesthetic no matter how you make him look. Level 3 beard and Level 5 hair is the most chad though.
I think that's intended, he was meant to be younger and more rasha and inexperienced.
When you play him postgame he feels more or less how he felt in RDR1.
Maybe a bit more hotheaded and less empathic, but that's about it.
>"i see a man and think of gay sex"
WRONG SIR
John's better
he's definitely the wokest cowboy of all time
He is just relentlessly handsome no matter what
>kills 100 innocent police officers
>kills 100 innocent hired guns
>kills 100 innocent soldiers
>kills an entire town with micah
>helps a couple of people before dying
YOU A GOOD MAN ARTUR HURRR DURR
that's not why he's good
he likes niggers and supports women rights
How did Rockstar shit the bed with the protagonists in GTA 5 so badly? John and Arthur are loved by everyone but nobody gives a shit about the 3 protags.
Why are you so assblasted about this? Every Rdr thread you're crying about Arthur being friends with Lenny
when normal people lynched niggers for daring to look up from the floor, what do you think white male outlaws did to them?
Now I ain't no saint; try to do what's right by my heart and all...an' sure, we done our share of robbin', beatin', stealin'...but ain't ever owned a slave, no sir. The devil's surely got himself a dark, dark hole where those men go when they die...
Agreed
Also this
No GTA protagonist is good. No GTA game has good writing. It's all on the nose parodies of American culture
He was a good character with a good voice actor, in a shitty derivative story.
This.
I have no idea why people paint him as a good guy. At least John in RDR1 was legitimately trying to go straight. You could argue that he was trying to be a good man, but his past wouldn't let him go, which is the whole theme of the games (the only redemption is death)
Arthur? Dude explains away his murdering and stealing because it's all he knows how to do, or his way of life, or how it's always been. The whole "we only steal from people who deserve it shtick" means jack when every job ends up with dozens of dead people.
Arthur was an awful man, as was everyone in the gang.
you don't get it
don't you remember that one time arthur drove the camp's prostitutes around for a good time?
he's a good man
yeah well at least he's not a RACIST
nah
>massacring an entire town? a-ok
>usury? unforgivable
that's actually pretty based. fuck usury. fuck jews and fuck you too.
killing innocent people is for niggers
I guess that's why Arthur kept saying he wasn't a good man and that the people who called him good didn't really know him
Micah Bell is a racist and an atheist. That's how you know Arthur is good.
>Ruins your whole life by quickening your fathers death, putting you into debt, making your mom into a prostitute and forcing you to work in the mines
>"Here's 30 bucks buoh"
>+1000000 honor
You’re not wrong
Can someone explain to me what makes Arthur so amazing? I really do not understand this at all. It makes me feel like I played an entirely different game. To me Arthur is one of the most bland protagonists I have ever seen in a video game. He has virtually no personality of any kind. In basically every conversations most of his responses are just noncommittal grunts, like "sure, I guess so" or "gee I don't know".
His personality is so bland that he's practically just a self-insert for the player, meant to sort of express a form of doubt when you do bad shit just so you don't feel like you're a total bad guy. Why the fuck does everyone think this character is so amazing? Why all the praise? Where does it come from for this unbelievably boring and shitty character?
He's well acted and the facial animation's good so when sad music plays in slow mo I cri everitim :(
It's retarded.
And that's a good thing
Now i'm gonna think of that every time i see this pic
he is the SJW self-insert cowboy who is against "racism"
because that's what outlaws were like back in the day, you racist
cops and rival gangs are not innocent
his father was gonna die either way, they were already in debt, his mom would probably become a prostitute either way after his father dying and he would have to workin the mines either way after his father's death
His a massive asshole, the only difference between him and the common thug you shoot is that he happens to be the protagonist.
there are literal civilians defending their town in strawberry. also yes, cops are innocent when they're merely stopping you from breaking the law
>the cops the outlaw kills aren't innocent
And besides that, the citizens of Strawberry were. The man he beat to death and for which he caught TB was. Same with the man that died hunting the white puma, and yada yada yada.
He's a piece of shit.
Well written and incredibly acted.
This is why the death of the west theme was done much better in the first game
It would have been ok if made attempts to stop in chapter 6 when he is supposed to redeem himself but he still murders police officers and young military men so nonchalantly. There's no redemption cause he never changed.
look at the moralfags fagging up the place. you're subhumans
Why do people think this? He's so fucking boring, literally just a generic cowboy
RDR1 had well-written dialogue, 2 is complete wank
post 1ONE example of good dialogue in 2
>m-muh morals
says the retard crying about usury being bad
>RDR1 had well-written dialogue
you post your own example first
Arthur and RDR2 are overrated
RDR1 was better
You claimed 2 was well written first
says the retard crying over dead cops, usury is insidious you snake
>I'm Herbert MOOOOOOOON
RAPES
He is a bland generic gruff 30 something male character for the first five chapters but once he gets sick he differentiates himself. He starts to become regretful once he is made aware of his own mortality but can't absolve himself from his sins because he knows he has been a bad person all his life and he can't go back in time to set things straight. So he tries to do one last good thing before he inevitability vanishes away.
>noooo you can't just loan money at absurd rates!!
based jews dabbing on moralfags
RAPES
Oh Arthur, you're such a nice person!
Retard. Rockstar wants us to think he's a good man and Arthur's doubt is just supposed to be admirable.
Agreed. RDR2 still had it's moments, and the characters we're well done, but I much prefered the story in RDR1. Hits much harder.
When Arthur dies, I didn't really feel much. He got sick beating a dying man down for money. Arthur was a scumbag and he himself knew it.
John died trying (and arguably successfully) to save his family.
What's great about him?
Not him, but there's plenty of good dialogue in 2.
youtu.be
He is cute.
the dialogue was definitely much better written in 1, mostly because john had sharper lines and characters often gave their own counterpoint to his. it was interesting hearing bonnie think he was full of shit, or hearing them talk politics in mexico, or seeing the point of view of the government agents during the missions in blackwater. RDR2 simplifies things really hard and Arthur is basically always the agreeable one
