Godzilla is about the horrors of nuclear war and the wrath of nature, and it takes place on Earth, of course there's going to be humans in it. What I find hilarious is how many people whine about the Legendary movies for having too much human and not enough monsters when a lot of the Toho films have even less Godzilla screen time in them than G2014 did.

The main characters will attack like they're in slow motion and can't stop.

I'm well aware but it feels worse in the Legendary movies because I can understand them and I realize how fucking stupid the excuse of a plot really is

They all have stupid plots, you watch the movies for monsters and people running and screaming while the military futilely attempts to stop them.

I just wish G2014 didn't keep cutting away from the monsters at the end. I can handled 3/4 of the movie being teases and human drama, just give me the last chunk of time as non-stop monster fighting.

I will admit that got annoying fast. Fortunately they mostly learned from it in KOTM and we got some nice long monster battle scenes.

Biollante is my fav kaiju

KK is alright, has some good shit in it and the fights are decent

KOTM was pretty nice too, lots of callbacks to old stuff (Mothra twins, Oxygen Destroyer) and has my favorite depiction of Ghidorah

Anyone else prefer the more "mundane" kaiju over the more fantastical and super-powers kaiju? Varan, Anguirus, Titanosaurus, Kamacuras, Kumonga, Ebirah, Manda, Showa Rodan, Zilla, Gorosaurus, they may not be flinging laser beams everywhere or have mystical connections to girls and robots but they have guts and heart.
