Post some underrated vidya you've played or have been playing. Maybe say a little something about it.
For me, it's THE LONGING. Came out recently, it's a neat little thing. It's a bit of an exploration game with puzzles and weird experimental idle mechanics. Fantastic art and music and it's just oozing with atmosphere.
I always like to rec Ravenfield in these threads. It’s basically modeled after the instant action modes in those old Battlefield and Battlefront games, and you can set the bot count to whatever your pc can handle (10v10, 100v100, 500v500, etc). It’s really cool. It has all the same kind of stuff you’d expect, ground combat, naval combat, aero combat, a variety of weapons and modes. It even has workshop so there’s tons of mods that add new weps and maps and there are a TON of fantastic maps, a lot of which are great conversions of known ones from other games. There’s also a multiplayer mod for it also released on steam but I’m not sure if it’s still got players.

I watched a vid, it looks pretty cool. Cheers, user.
No one plays vidya in this festering shitpile of a board. I am sorry your efforts will be wasted on these scum.
Ryan Clark
Oh well. That’s life, I suppose.

>For me, it's THE LONGING. Came out recently, It JUST came out you nigger shill. It's not underrated, it's not even rated.
Wyatt Morgan
It's been out for 7 days and has 400+ reviews. Cry wolf elsewhere.

Case in point People would rather be outraged and use buzzwords than discuss anything they’re playing
Get a grip you limp wristed little faggot. Clearly daddy didn’t belt you enough.

All Day Dying It's an arcade shooter that has the same structure as Tony Hawk Pro Skater where you play to beat scores and do level specific objectives. Plays great
Angels Fall First It's like a first person only Battlefront with space battles and ship invasion. Decent AI so it can be enjoyed alone
ReDie A top down shooter that is similar to Hotline Miami without all the stylish part. Plays great and has plenty of variety with weapons and enemies
I've still never got around to playing Sunless Skies but I heard it was p cool.

Past few years are loaded to the brim with AA/indie masetrpieces that straight up shit on AAA shit >Disco Elysium >Pathologic 2 >Yes, Your Grace >Return of the Obra Dinn >Papers Please >World of Horror >A legionary's life
Evan Jenkins
Also forgot GRIS. Gonna play the Longing soon, looks really neat.
>Tylandras (steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197979269747) >Not Recommended >0.5 hrs last two weeks / 0.5 hrs on record >Posted: Mar 11 >This game is severely not for everyone. For example, if you play games to be challenged, for good gameplay, or for a story you won't enjoy this. If you have limited time to play games, you won't enjoy this. If you don't have the patience of a saint, you won't enjoy this. Having written this I am genuinely bewildered about what people see in this game. It is visually appealing with good music, but so are a great number of games that you also interact with in an enjoyable way So either this guy is LARPing or their own writer doesn't recommend their game lol

Recommending Crosscode. It's like a jrpg, but instead of being turned based, you move in a 2d space with fleshed out dodging and combat. If the devs ever added multiplayer, Pvp would be quite deep, because of the different strategies you could use. There is also a fun world to explore, where you can find many secrets, so it's a fun game for exploration nerds too. I've never really liked rpg's, but this is one that I can get behind.
Brandon Brooks
Yeah I easily put in 80 hours into before they even added the arena or even finished up that one game-long sidequest. Good game, fun characters, nice art.
Jace Wood
How do you do fellow shades. Kind of surprised to see The Longing on here, thought it might not be Yas Forums's sort of thing.
>game came out 7 days ago >counter down by 33 days Hello time traveler
Gavin Diaz
how did you get all those fucking crystals
Kevin Hill
Time flies when you're having fun.

>not sort of Yas Forums's thing you are right, it's a game

I assume you know where the red ones are. The white ones are where you need to wait for moss to grow so you can drop down. The blue ones are past where you wait for the stalactite to drop. Not in frame are a black one which is hidden in the three doors puzzle leading to the halls of eternity and a small purple one which is near the spider. The big pink one is in the secret tower.
James Long
Can you describe it to make us interested?
Nathan Perez
Certainty not underrated games imo, but they definetly seem like great games from what I've heard.
Ethan Collins
Dunno if I'd call it underrated, but I never see anyone talk about it so I'll say Syberia. I don't really play point and clicks, but I really love the art, music and tone the game has. I had to look up how to complete a few of the puzzles because I'm kind of retarded, but I still really liked it. I thought the second one was good too, but I could only get a few hours into 3 before quitting because it was so bad. Apparently they are making a 4th now though.

>Yokus island express Yokus island express is my personal game of the year. I don't understand why I don't here anywhere. Haven't managed to get the true ending yet (by not failing too much)
>Windforge I played Windforge for a long time. I think it's worth the money. I like the atmosphere and world.
How come that nobody talks about this gem? I haven't expected anything and yet played it almost non-stop from beginning to the end. Are there any other similar games like Marrow? All the other metroidvanias look like some shitty tumblr worship or casual castlevania-likes.
I want to play, heard it has a number of large bugs from reviews though that havent been fixed and wont ever be.
Austin Taylor
I guess you got the one in the mines? There's one you wait two weeks for, as you've noticed, and then I think two more in different areas up near the very top of the cave, past the bit with the spider (which builds its web quicker than you might think, go check back on it maybe). However, there's several more puzzles to pass, including IMO the best bit in the whole game, so it is as close to lategame content as The Longing has. It might be easier to just get some books and speed through those two weeks in the home cave. Seriously, don't underestimate that, I bought the game at release 7 days ago and have currently passed 48 days in-game, and that's with some time wasting and pissing about.
Parker Morgan
>yes, your grace i keep seeing this game shilled with site background banners everywhere
Adrian Turner
>World of Goo its a physics-based puzzle game with cute art and a good soundtrack lots of mechanics too so it doesn't get boring and a creepy post-apocalypse undertone youtube.com/watch?v=YEL0UsMQRcQ
The thing that I didn't liked when I tried it was how basic the AI was considering that it was the main selling point. Did it got any better?
Dominic Collins
yeah, that game really needs expansions. It's fantastic. But more bosses and worlds (like a jungle) would be epic. Character customization would be cool too. Anyway, fantastic game for couch "coop" fun. I highly recommend it too
Grayson Cox
>world of goo >underrated it's more so just forgotten, it was one of the big hit indie games back in the '00s too bad every other game they've made has been shit
William King
>he doesn't have adblock can't relate
Kayden Torres
The music is amazing too. For those wanting a whiff of the atmosphere, just google the OST.
Xavier Watson
I always have to shill Dustforce. The console ports have problems, but on PC, it's probably one of the best skill based platformers around. Level design built around traversing with mechanics and a versatile moveset and it doesn't resort to garbage like projectile death traps or cycles to come up with challenge.
Thomas Morgan
Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass was pretty good.
Ian Rivera
Not that I've been playing them recently, they are actually in my top 10 favorites of all time, but I'll post em anyway because they rarely get any love. The Last Guardian and Hotel Dusk.
Wait, fuck, I just remembered. There's one bit where you need a mattock. Sorry bro, you're going to have to wait.
Luke Thompson
I hate Yas Forums's filesize limit.
inMomentum is a game about going as fast as possible. The only story is in the tutorial level, which tells you that the game is some kind of VR for crippled people or something. You can run, jump, fall quickly, and shoot things. Shooting surfaces as you jump off of them gives you a speed boost, which is key to going fast. There's also multiplayer, where your shooty thing has a degree of homing capability and disrupts the movement of your friends and makes you more or less incapable of shooting switches.
The skill levels you'll experience are >I can run on platforms and jump >I can run on platforms and walljump >I never run because launching myself across the map with a series of well-timed shooty boosts is faster
Your speed limit while running is 300KPH, so your speed will decay above that point if you're running along a surface. When you're airborne, however, your speed can go above the 300KPH speed limit. I don't know how fast you can get, but it still feels pretty fast.
Here's a shitty webm of one of the simpler levels to go fast on.
Return of the Obra Dinn was close to being a masterpiece, and anyone into adventure games should play it. It's not particularly difficult, and not very long, but I can't remember the last time I was so hyped to play a game from start to finish.
