Start RPG as a mage

>Start RPG as a mage
>man I wish I could just bash people instead of being so squishy
>Restart as warrior
>man I wish I could just snipe people and steal shit instead of unga bunga smashing
>Restart as thief
>man this hit and run crap is so limiting I wish I could have fun with spells
>Restart as-

Tell me I'm not the only one. I think it's because these RPGs just aren't fun to play that this grass-is-greener syndrome flares up.

the logical thing to do is to play once as every character, my ADHD ridden buddy

all lame non of these classes make me summon the undead

You misread. Each type of build isn't engaging and it feels the reason the game is not fun is because of the build when it's really just that the game isn't very good.

I could play Dark Messiah every different way, but Oblivion I can't get halfway through the main quest without stopping.

>warrior starts off pretty decent and straight forward but by mid-game, you're already bored with the playstyle and see dozens of threads/videos about how the mage/rogue class shits out damage you can't even dream of
>mage might get amazing later but you have to suffer through x hours of being worthless garbage, 70% of the game is just you gitting gud and leveled so you can steamroll the last 30% with 0 effort
>rogue/thief/assassin/archer/whateverthefuck is either unequivocally the most broken class in the game due to stealing infinite money (if this is the case even warrior/mage has to steal everything not nailed down or on fire anyways), invisibility, and critical damage output that makes you a walking nuke. Or is so utterly generic and middling as a 'compromise' between warrior and mage that it is painfully average and dull the whole game through

The static class formula is a mistake.

Just play Skyrim, where you can be all of those things at the same time.

the footwear makes no sense

BELTS

it protects your feet from rain
it's just an extra layer

Cheat and make a god character

Although Wolcen's launch was a train-wreck, it's character customization is really good. You can play anyway you want and avoid the class bullshit everyone thinks is mandatory in RPGs.

I want to COOM inside a Barbarian girl

Modern games are guilty of having a bunch of really shallow mechanics rather than a couple really engaging ones. Restarting as different builds is a symptom of this. Somewhere inside you realize the first hour of playing the build will be the same as the fourth or tenth and lose interest.

you picked the worst one

why don't you like her?
what barbarian girls do you like?

That problem is really only due to the idea of RPGs being based around rigid class design.
Most games with classless systems don't suffer from that.
Not saying class based games are inherently bad or anything, it's just that some people don't like being bottlenecked into some rigid archetype.

I always inveritable make a caster because slinging projectiles made of ice and fire and pure arcane energy is too much fun.

Based

What game are you talking about?

That's why Skyrim is the best. You can do it all.

Any RPG with bad combat tbqh. Bethesda games, Diablo games, every MMO.

Yes same here.

>Tell me I'm not the only one. I think it's because these RPGs just aren't fun to play that this grass-is-greener syndrome flares up.

I just started my 7th Character on PoE. Every single one of them has just finished Defiance Bay.
I havent finished the game once.

pls send help and put me out of my misery.

>Play Dark Souls
>Want to make a mage
>Early and mid game are suffering and spamming two spells only
>Have to go to NG+ to get a powerful magic build
>Play melee strength or dex build
>Have a much better early and mid game but get bored as fuck of my combos late game

There is no winning.

Are there any RPGs where you can actually roll up an uncivilized character and city folk actually treat you like you're a barbarian?
not to be confused with low INT stuff I mean

I wish there were more characters like her in videogames.

>Want to do a beast tamer/ Barbarian play through on Skyrim
>Cant do it without the bestiality animation

this is why im still so far behind in 14

>Oblivion
I've found the problem

>play bad games
>don't find them engaging
but yeah it's the class system that's the problem

are there any RPGs where NPCs react strongly to your class?
only one I can think of is Dragon Age Origins with people being scared of Mages

Attached: barbarian.jpg (970x1500, 214.84K)

>not playing a stealth warrior mage
shit nigger what are you doing

I really like amiri. At first you think she is just another stronk woman steriotype but after you learn she just wants a leader who will watch her back and won’t do the fucked up shit old tribe tried to do to her

That's why I use respec mods for every game that doesn't allow it natively.
I know cRPG fags feel superior for replaying the same content hundreds of times and seethe just thinking about anyone feeling differently but to me sitting through all that shit you already know feels like a massive waste of time, especially since there are very, very few games where gameplay is so great and choices matter enough to justify more than one playthrough.

She's also lied through her teeth about most of her accomplishments.

I like melee that can buff themselves with elements and shit. What are the best games to play like that?

Skyrimfags like you need to be gassed.

Skyrim is also bad

>Naturally good at thief classes
>refuse to play them 90% of the time becuse I don't want to be that edgy kid who plays rougues
>when I do friends make comments on how I am a natural born jew

Attached: 1562106771609.gif (250x319, 3.99M)

just embrace it and go full edgelord

Kingdom of Amalur Reckonings lets you be all at once.

Is Robin Hood of Loxley a jew?

>blames game instead of looking inward

Typical. Just take your ADHD meds .

>thread already pozzed with coomers

unironically as bad as trannies, holy fuck

just embrace the memes chosen one

>Barbarian's specialty is high melee damage and nothing else
>is typically grouped with the late game/expert classes

Arcanum has some dialogue changes when you're wearing barbarian clothes.

what are some fun RPGs where you can play as a barbarian?

Attached: muscle tiefling.jpg (1188x2000, 666.04K)

Pathfinder

Except that's completely wrong.

It's always : "Does this game have a good damage mitigation system? If no (like 99% of games) you play mage if if it has more options. If magic sucks then you play stealth, such as in old sim games since that' best option. In elder scrolls for instance it's always thief+mage, never warrior since that is just trading hits.

thanks

>always start as rogue
>everything went better than expected

>what barbarian girls do you like?

Attached: Jora[1].jpg (350x900, 69.71K)

what are some fun RPGs where you can play as a succubus?

succubi don't tend to be playable sadly

Attached: xana.webm (1280x720, 2.78M)

Oblivion is an "immersive" rpg that went out of its way to have the most generic setting possible. Of course you don't find it engaging; the only people that do are those for whom it was baby's first rpg.

>4e style tiefling
Miss me with that gay shit.

Well, what are some fun RPGs where you can play as a non-standard race, like a lamia or angel or whatever?

Morrowind.
