>they have over 10k hours on one fucking game

Honestly baffles me. So many questions. Where do you get the fucking freetime? How do you not get bored of it? Why this one game? I always see this shit with TF2 or Counter-Strike. I just don't fucking get it. Legit psychopathic behavior. If you're one of these people, please tell me why.

>liking a game is for psychos
The absolute state of Yas Forums.

these hours seemed not that major to me back then, can barely clock in 200 hours for a game i REALLY like now. it shocks me honestly.

Videogames are pretty much legal drugs at this point.

All day. All night. Same as me

I remember when I dropped out of university due to my poor mental health and decided playing old school runescape full time was a healthy coping mechanism. I think I clocked about 6000 hours that year for a total of 21000 hours in total since release. Thank god I quit that shit and got my life back on track.

Aren't you literally gay?

They idle it. They leave the game always running

play other games

Defend playing one game for 10k hours. You could have done something with your life.

of all the fucking games to put nearly 5k hours in... really?

You could be doing something with your life right now instead of posting on Yas Forums.

No, there are people that legitimately play games to 10k hours.

im so sorry man, i was at a low in my life. also this game has a shit load of online levels so you can pretty much sink into them if you let yourself.

That is not a defense.

neets gotta do something to avoid reality

Sometimes I forget to close a game while I go do other stuff

I wish I even had the willpower to do that, I just waste my time on this shithole

Such as?

When you die will it really matter? When you're bones in the ground will it matter if I spent 10k hours playing a single game instead of spending 10k hours hitting a ball with a bat, or fishing, or gardening? Will my composting body care?

It wasn't meant to be a defense.

gayest response ive ever. perhaps the queerest comeback ever. your reddit gold, sire.

i play like 500-1000 hours on cs source/bf3/borderlands2, it feels a lot already and yes i'm bored never touch that game anymore.

You realize it someday when you start getting hooked on gitting gud on games, in some games you can improve 10k hours straight.
I also didn't get it, but you know just keep playing games until your a neckbeard, you will get it.

10,000 hours is a lot of time that could've gone to literally anything productive to an overall goal. You don't need to be a genius to see this. Examples include pursuing a career or degree, finalizing the financing for something you've been wanting to acquire, etc. You literally cannot defend prioritizing THOUSANDS of hours spend on video games over reality just because it was "fun".

I have it in TF2 back in the Mannconomy days. Used to leave my PC running on min specs on idle maps

kinda cringe ngl cya going to play dwarf fortress

pursuing a career or a degree isnt fun.

holy based

No shit. Some day you'll grow up and realize that progress in life isn't always going to be fun but in order to, you know, actually progress you need to make that sacrifice. Nothing in life comes for free, so be a man.

Shut the fuck up tranny

>dude just ignore life and play 10k hours of vidya in your darkened room
ok zoomer enjoy suicide in your 30s LOL

Or you could just masturbate in your moms basement all day, which i'm going to do. You can't take my wizardship away from me fucking jew.

Someone found out he is a gay arab living in one of those nordic countries.

Do you really think playing 100 different games you'll shortly forget about is anymore meaningful? Some people prefer something that is more in depth. Something you can spend years mastering and still have a ways to go, not something designed to be beaten and overcome. There's probably also something to be said about the community that forms around these sorts of games, and a desire to prove yourself better than someone else, or even yourself.

For a lot of people games are a comfy retreat. I think especially competitive games with some social aspect can really lock you down. Shooters but also WoW.

I find it way way more weird when people play SP games that aren't built around replayability.

What are you trying to retreat from?

*Wizard

Maybe they're happy with their current state of life and spend all their hobby time on that?
10k/24 hours is 416 days If you've been gaming for say, over 20 years that'd be around 1/20th of your time spent on gaming. That doesn't sound so bad.

Hi Tyler

You can:
- Masturbate in your mom's basement every day
- Play a game enough over a few years to reach 10k hours
AND
- Pursue a career
All at the same time.

The sad part is when you're still bad at the game.

It's not that bad.

i know, i was joking for the replies. Still on route for my degree anyways.

other than some mmorpgs this is my most played game and I find this to be a huge amount of playtime. several thousands of hours, eh, I can only imagine it's a lot of idling for meme reasons

>xamples include pursuing a career or degree, finalizing the financing for something you've been wanting to acquire, etc.

What if the person wants to pursue fun on a shit game?

Really, what the fuck is this disgusting normie logic, always pursue thing that the society deems valuable and not just do what you want. Really?

ive played lol for atleast 10k hours got chall since s7 even rank 1 once, 30+ perma bans only made a big buck once i sold the acc to some saudi retard ccmon roast me

>NO, I MUST ONLY PURSUE DISTRACTION, NEVER REALITY
The irony that you would ever call anything else normie

>progress

As long as you self-sufficiently exist, don’t harm anyone else and are satisfied, you’re doing okay. Give me one reason anybody should follow whatever your specific definition of “life progress” is.

ive never hit 4 digits on in hours on any game

Source this cute sad

Ive been playing that game since 2009 and it cost me maybe $200 over its lifetime, less if you consider marketplace funds coming from drops I received in game. that $200 is entirely in an expensive phlog because Im the worlds most intelligent pyro. Gaze upon my 105 iq and tremble

shut up abdullah

Depends on the replayability of the game, i've probably put thousands of hours on mario kart.
One of my favorite series, I still play it daily.

I played CSGO every day straight during one depressed summer and I still have like 1200 hours

Time enjoyed is never wasted.

My NEET friend has 26,000 hours in WoW. I probably have over 5,000 in WoW, and I have 3,600 in CSGO.

>10k hours on one fucking game
Good thing I have that many hours on several games. Normie status saved.

Oh, that edgy shit? I heard about that. Character name?

But I enjoy reality from time to time.

If I'm dumping thousands of hours into a game, it's because the gameplay loop just gels with what I want out of a video game that other video games are not providing. I'll bet everyone has a game they've sunk at least 300 hours into without realizing, this is just a more evolved version of that.
