If it came out a year later, it probably would have done fine. Black Clover was still being meme'd when the game came out and the marketing did a poor job explaining that the game was actually a third-person shooter and not another arena fighter.

It unironically fits the arena fighter style of gameplay, literally just give it flashy QTE stuff similar to the anime like the Ninja Storm games and its fine. The problem is most of these games have a half assed budget like even Kakarot had this same problem and certain stuff had to be cut but a worse example is OPM, like they didn't even try
