The context in the plot (the photographer being brainwashed and kidnapping his muse, Maiko as well as Tsubasa growing into an idol by being able to do photoshoots) and the dungeon itself are completely unchanged

Like I already said if this was "one tiny change" I probably wouldn't mind, isolated in a vacuum it's not a disaster. It's still bad, don't get me wrong. Tsubasa's motivation is considerably altered by the change making her fear far more irrational and absurd compared to her original motivation.
The problem is this change isn't the only of it's kind. It might be a small change but there is a constant stream of these small changes which all add up. Stop treating this like an isolated issue. There's a deliberate attempt to dull down Japanese games, to make them bland and thoughtless, to make the people who play them bland and thoughtless.

Tsubasa is skittish about everything and her arc across the game is growing in confidence. She was even freaking out about doing a meet and greet with her fans. The change does dull it but it is still in line with the character and does not affect the trajectory of the plot (both Tsubasa's growth and the linking of incidents to DTV)
