Disney is trash
Final Fantasy is trash
Mash them together and you get disgusting trash
Combos!

I wish I died waiting for it

>Buying Gamecube over PS2
>PS2 ends up becoming the best selling console
>Most kids around that era grew up on Kingdom Hearts
>Known as that "weird kid" for never playing a Kingdom Hearts game
How badly did I fuck up

I unironically think it fucking sucked and should have been delayed until Nomura and Disney got the fuck over themselves.

Base game is shit, Data Org and Yozora are kino.

looks very pretty, but everyone's an exposition dump

I love it and I can't take any fans of these games that hate on it seriously.

I loved every second of it besides the Frozen world when it came out because of the hype, replayed it a few months ago and hated more of it than I thought I would've. It's still one of my top 3 KH games with 2 and BBS.
The DLC is absolute Kino, however, if you're willing to stay on Nomura's wild ride

Exposed Kingdom Hearts as a casual unfriendly series. It's maddening to know people really thought that this game was the 3rd KH game.

>BBS.
You're everything wrong with this shit franchise

What is it with zoomers defending garbage entries in once great series?

>Exposed Kingdom Hearts as a casual unfriendly series
Good. Fuck 'em. Get filtered.

The Disney part felt frivolous.

Badly. I'm sorry you did not get to experience KH and KH2 during your childhood and adolescence. However, you really dodged a bullet--the rest of us waited 14 years for KH3 only to experience disappointment bordering on grief.

>zoomers
Nobody that grew up with Kingdom Hearts is a zoomer and nobody that didn't grow up with it plays Kingdom Hearts.

I'm playing through it now. At Keyblade Graveyard. Past few months have been my first time playing the KH series.
Been playing on Critical (because why wouldn't you?) and it's great. I love the Disney and attention to detail in some of the worlds. The Pirates of the Caribbean world being Wind Waker lite full of secrets is absolutely kino. I don't give a fuck about the story and never have, I only care about the gameplay, music and how fun the worlds are to explore and how much detail they put in from the source material.
The balance isn't as tight as KH2 and I think the worlds could stand to be 75% of the length they actually are (except Pirates and Big Hero 6), but other than that it's a fantastic experience. While the story is bad I love outlandish moments like Mike and Sully putting some dark evil anime man in 50 doors or Woody calling Ansem or whoever an incel.
If you don't like KH3 you're a dumb storyfag brainlet who actually is retarded enough to care about the fanfiction tier story. The cutscenes with non-Disney characters are too long I'll admit, but KH is at its best when Sora is like "why are we here? I dunno let's explore" instead of when it's trying to wrap up its 5000 plot threads and introducing 10000 more. If you think the worlds are "filler" then you never understood what made Kingdom Hearts good.

>and nobody that didn't grow up with it plays Kingdom Hearts.
3 begs to differ.

Same can be said for every entry except the first game and even then it was overall pretty pointless to the main plot. The only Disney character that really mattered was Maleficent.

Plenty of casuals bought the game when it came out because of the hype but most of them never beat it and they sure as hell aren't still playing it or arguing about it on a chinese image board.

Solid gameplay.
Story felt like filler until the last world.
Did not play the DLC because it's $30 for a boss rush and some story.

overall a 7/10

Base KH3 felt like DMC4; it had a lot of cool new ideas, but not enough room to flex them. But then the patches and ReMind happened and the game feels more like DMC5, a return to greatness.

>Did not play the DLC because it's $30 for a boss rush
It's worth it. Best part of the game by far. It's the only part where you can actually explore the combat fully.

I dunno, I really liked the story of three kids being best friends and everything turning to absolute shit, the explanation behind the OG Xehanort being young in the main series vs him being an old fart in BBS, and maybe the fact that I haven't played it since the two times I played it on PSP clouds my judgement. You can't deny that out of the 8 games in the series, it's one of the best.
Here's some waifu bait to cloud your judgement as well.

>Did not play the DLC because it's $30 for a boss rush and some story.
The "some story" part will fix your disappointment at the ending if you had any, and the boss rush is actually very exciting. I didn't thing I'd enjoy it that much, but fuck, it was awesome.

I have heard it is but it's hard to justify a $30 DLC for what feels like little content.

Plus I have a Christmas backlog so by that point it might go on a sale

>The "some story" part will fix your disappointment at the ending if you had any
The only real disappointment is that the series didn't end at that point and it felt like filler until the final world and then rushed as fuck. Kinda like MGS4

>$30 DLC for what feels like little content
It really is a good amount of content. All of the bosses are extremely well designed with a crazy amount of different moves and animations. It takes hours to learn each fight. People are still finding new openings. If you just wanted the story content I could see it seeming overpriced but as a whole package it's pretty fair. It probably will go on sale later this year though.

>All of the bosses are extremely well designed with a crazy amount of different moves and animations. It takes hours to learn each fight.

I find it hard to believe that Square was able to churn out about 14 or so new bosses of high quality (according to people who played it) in about a year, since they felt like they had half assed movelists when fighting them in the story

Janky shit that should've stuck with the trilogy instead of convoluting the story with all those shitty handheld spinoffs

The movesets were only so limited in the story because you had to fight them simultaneously. The new fights have an insane amount of moves. The secret boss has more moveset variety than any other KH boss.

>The secret boss has more moveset variety than any other KH boss.

that sounds interesting but still waiting for a sale.

I think it's kind of weird how Roxas and Namine were given new bodies, considering their arc in 2 was accepting their place as part of Sora and Kairi respectively, and rejoining with them. It seemed like move purely done for fanservice purposes.

It's really good especially the limit cut bosses.
Main complaint was that they made magic do too much damage, and that they didn't make the base game challenging enough to force you to learn the system.

I think about it like this: ReMind's main attraction is the gameplay and fanservice. If you wanted more story just watch everything on Youtube and wait for more Ux/Dark Road updates.

You'd be surprised how popular it was especially in Japan (it helped that PSP was just fucking massive in Japan), and even the non-JP fandom it has a lot of people calling it it's favourite.

But I care about the story a lot and I loved KH3

>they didn't make the base game challenging enough to force you to learn the system

I cringe everytime a streamer tries to use Ultima shotlock or Links against the data bosses and Yozora.

the gameplay was good but man, Proud mode felt like a joke to the point I had to toggle EXP 0 on to make it even remotely challenging

Its a fucking mess.

It's a game that seems to be "for the fans" while at every moment trying to reexplain shit for people who jumped in at 3 or hadn't played since 2.

They turned Sora into a gigantic fucking retard and still expect us to take him seriously as the final savior when the whole game everyone is telling him he's useless.

Maybe the DLC fixes it but I don't give a fuck. Fuck Nomura if he's gonna continue the series he needs a god damn leash.

It's the opposite of Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 where the Disney worlds sucked and the final stretch was handedly carrying the game. Kingdom Hearts 3 had godly worlds and a weak conclusion.

Ultimately that's more hours of the game being good, but its also arguably a less important part of the game being nailed

It fucking sucks.

>Unironic thoughts on Kingdom Hearts III?
Downloaded the demo. Almost threw up when I moved Sora around. The absolute dogshit UE4 physics/movement is all over the game.

Fuck S-E

>uses reddit spacing
>doesn't know that sora was always a retarded goofball
wow user you're such a faggot

Sora has ALWAYS been a gigantic fucking retard.

Everyone knows the best KH is CoM!

Sure but at least from the start of 1 til the end of 2 he developed to the point where I believed he could hold his own and he matured. DDD basically ends with him getting demoted to Yen Sid's and Riku's bitch and the plot of 3 is him getting told to fuck off and get the power of waking. Which he never gets and it doesn't fucking matter.

It's a mess, a mess that can be decently fun , but a fucking mess regardless.

>collect 300 crabs
>10 minute slide down mountain during avalanche
>collect ingredients
>collect 200 sora clones
>pirate ship combat
>toy robot combat
>fly through rings in Big Hero 6
>special moves are movies where you watch an animation kill everything on the screen
It is unironically one of the worst rpgs I’ve ever played. It is the reason why I’m hesitant to play FF7 remake. I feel sorry for fans that waited a decade for this and deluded themselves into thinking it was good.

It continues to be a pleb filter.

It's a great game just like 1 and 2. Only delusional nostalgiafags and brainlets who got filtered by the data fights think otherwise.

I beat the Hercules world, did some gummi ship stuff then uninstalled. nomura is like kojima without a competent team backing him up.

It needed better pacing and a big middle act like Hollow Bastion in 2 but I still had a lot of fun. This is the most I've enjoyed the Disney worlds since playing 1 for the first time. Even through Frozen was shit it had a cool boss at least.
Dlc was overpriced but I was happy to get more Scala and the Limit Cut bosses are a blast. Many of them are that bosses definitive version imo.

>couldn't figure out basic mech controls and then got filtered by frozen world
lmao that's so pathetic even dsp beat the game

>DDD ends with him being demoted
The beginning of KH2 pulled the same shit but even worse. Sora, Donald and Goofy defeated Ansem but then fucking jobbed to a few nobody minions
>Which he never gets and it doesn't fucking matter
So you didn't even play KH3. Fuck off and come back after you've actually played the game

>So you didn't even play KH3.
[citation needed]

I thought it was fun, but it did not live up to being the next numbered entry in the series. The vast majority of the DLC was shit too. Re:Mind should have been free and they could have sold the data fights separately for less money and everyone would have been happy

I understand if Nomura and the dev team want to move on from KH3 and work on FF7 for 10 more years but I would LOVE if KH3 got the Royal Edition treatment.

Sora abusing the fuck out of the power of waking is a major plot point. You would've known that if you had played the game

it sucked

>even dsp beat the game
of course he did, there was an event for his sweaty man gacha running so he needed donations

Im almost done with the game and the price point where I paid is worth it for the $30 collection.
I goddamn hate Frozen's world along with corona. Big hero 6s world is like 10 minute long with a nice map that barely made use of it.
Fuck minigames and fuck this goddamn camera.
A shame that the dlc is $30 when all I want is the bossfights,

The pacing was all over the place, the Keyblade Graveyard was handled terribly in terms of how they did it, Frozen is an abomination of a world and easily the worst in the entire series beating out Agrabah but I put the blame on this squarely on Disney because you can tell it wasn't supposed to be this way from the ice maze's design alone, and they did not give enough fanservice once everyone was saved but I suppose at the same time it would have felt a bit out of place for everyone to start joking around (Re:Mind does it great with playable Roxas though).
In terms of gameplay they did an excellent job adding several good things like aerial guarding, formchanges, and air stepping, tweaking Flowmotion and Shotlocks so they don't feel as ridiculous as they were in their original games, and the massive worlds felt great. The DLC was also something that should have been in the base game, but the bosses they did add were all great, Yozora especially.

They have a great base to work off of for their next games all they need to work on is how easy they made the game until Critical. Attraction Flows are fine but they needed to be awarded properly instead of every five seconds.

Based and Moosepilled.

I've been playing KH since 1 on ps2 back when I was like 11-12 and I gotta say 3 was the biggest fucking disappoint. DLC is cool but I didn't buy that shit fuck square and fuck disney.

Will his game be kino?
