Why exactly is he so popular that all the updates in the Kiwami games basically revolved around him?

Because he's always been popular. He's the other side of the coin for Kiryu.
they ruined his character in 0
Fujos, mad lad status and he got a good backstory in 0.
They should've put more Baba, the best boy
it wouldnt make sense for him to show up before 5
WACKY CHARACTER HAHAHA FUNNY
he's a fun character and breaker is a ridiculously fun style.
Mine Everywhere mode when
This. He's been popular enough to become more than just a background character which was apparently how he was originally intended.
>they ruined his character in 0
>he got a good backstory in 0.
well, which is it?
Kuze*
He has to be out of jail by now
0 added far more nuance to his character, basically explains why he act the why he does for a majority of the series
Something about Dragon Engine makes everyone look weird.
why do stores still play Christmas music
Imagine how bizarre Andre Richardson would look in it.
Andooray Richardo-san*
but hes only le wacky meme man in 1 and 2. He's nothing like that in 3-6
Honestly the series catalogs his character well thanks to 0. He used to be straitlaced with a hint of madness, got so pissed and sick of shit that he indulged in the carnage personally, and then after a while he mellowed out again to an in-between of eccentricity and his old self. Meeting Makoto again in Kiwami 2 probably helps cap that off.
Someya did nothing wrong.
If anything, his 0 depiction is closer to 3-6 only it finally explained why he was the way he was in 1-2.
I tried to do his laugh and gave myself scar tissue in my throat
then i guess you can't do
KIRYU-CHAN
>Best boy.
>When he doesn't know how to play baseball.
should I be ashamed that my favorite to play in 5 was Haruka?
Yes, because Akiyama dances better.
She was fun though, it's just the small song amount that really kills her.
Baseball is just a fight waiting to happen
He looks pretty good though
Now the JAVs on the other hand...
How the hell did Yuki only get MORE attractive over 20 years
What happened to the god tier combat webm spammer or has he moved on to other games to shitpost?
he's still here sometimes spamming other pastas, but he's probably shitposting about other games like you said.
can't imagine he'll ever leave this site in general.
>that feel when As You Like comes on
>that feel when still no pre-prequel where you play as Kazama
>It's just a reskin of Binary Domain with the androids replaced with yakuza and triad members.
I never played BD
BRING THAT SHIT, KAZUMA
I want another akiyama game.
When
Give it a go, it's always cheap. They basically took their work on Dead Souls and understood what was bad about it so they made a pretty fun third-person shooter. It's still a bit clunky, but feels like a proper TPS now, and Cain is great.
Wait, Binary Domain was by the Yakuza team?
>Using R2 on phase 2 Amon.
The absolute madman.
Yes. Japan even had free DLC of stuff like American Kiryu.

Sekiro looks weird
Boba Fett syndrome at work.
Majima was more relevant than Boba Fett at least.
Nani
I can't bring myself to finish 3. I just wanna move on to 4 already.
>game doesn't have Bakamitai at karaoke
What's the point
Just finished Judgement. Unironically the best story I have ever seen from RGG team. Completely beats Y2 which was my all-time favorite. That ending where they explain how AD-9 kills its patientsspooked the hell out of me
All the new characters were also great. Can't wait to see them again some time
5 > 0 > 4 > 2 > 6 > 3 > 1
Based. Y5 had the most content and character variety in the series and didn't resort to repetition when it comes to gameplay. Shame it has the most retarded story in the series
How did you like Kuroiwa injecting himself with adrenaline to keep up the fight? Easily my favorite part of the ending.
won't be against a judgment sequel if they improve the detective shit, and general gameplay (never liked the way the dragon engine games played, and i think they should totally revamp the combat by scrapping all the previous enemy movesets and shit, and rebuild them from the ground up)
so conflicted on it since it has a great story, but i can't stand playing it.
JAV girls always look funny when they aren't hidden behind a layer of Photoshop.
Fucking amazing to the point I restarted the fight again. It's a great surprise that we got a great final boss since the last couple games had shit literal who final bosses
I'm struggling to get through Judgement right now because I don't care for the combat. Maybe I'm just too accustomed to earlier Yakuza games, but I really hate the combat in Judgement so far.
Better or worse than Kiwami 2?
I haven't gotten around to playing either Kiwami yet, just the originals. Was going to replay through 0-6 and with the Kiwami games after I finish Judgement.
if you don't like that shit, just slap the difficulty down to easy, activate EX mode crane style and spam triangle while holding L2 so you don't perform heat actions.
i started doing this like halfway through since i stopped giving a fuck.
also, avoid the side cases if you don't like tailing since there's a lot of them. can't be fucked going through all of them just to get to amon (most of the amon fights are just shit anyway imo)
You want to opt for Tiger rather than Crane unless you are spamming EX Heat. Crane is simply too flourish-y and because of how blocking works in the Dragon Engine even if one guy doesn't block you, because Crane is an aoe sort of deal you'll end up bouncing off of someone else. It's much better than 6 and Kiwami 2 in terms of the blocking issue, but it has the issue of Yagami taking a long time to recover from his flourishes and Tiger has the least amount of flourishes while also dealing a lot of damage.
Work the wall kicks, leaps, and slides into combat as well, they really help out.
yume
>want to engage in good Yakuza thread discussion
>in the middle of Yakuza 5 and haven't gotten to 6, yet
>I just know someone's going to say something I don't want to hear
Perhaps, I'll be able to talk in a few months.
YUME
I'll keep that in mind, though my biggest gripe is just how slow the EX gauge seems to fill. In Yakuza you're constantly generating heat, but so far in Judgement it barely feels like it's increasing, even after grabbing an upgrade or two. Not sure if it's just because I'm so early in the game or if it really is just a slower mechanic than Heat.
I did realize last night how useful Wall abilities could be in close quarters. And apparently there's an ability to leap over enemies I haven't seen yet, so I'm just going to keep going through and hope it clicks.
On the bright side, 6 is much shorter than 5, story-wise. Definitely avoid the threads if you haven't played 6 though.
>just want them to move on from kiryu and have them tell stories with new characters
>feel like i'm in the vocal minority saon this
i love him a lot, but i'm tired of seeing him at this point.
i know that he won't suddenly take over in 7, and it's pretty much ichibans story, but it just rubs me the wrong way that he's in there (i hope the higher ups weren't forcing them to shoehorn him in here)
>(i hope the higher ups weren't forcing them to shoehorn him in here)
They advertised Y7 as having an all new cast but they broke that promise due to the backlash surrounding the genre shift
