Just resubbed since I'll probably get quarantined at some point. Did a quick Ifrit to see if I could still play my level 30 job, and then remembered why I enjoyed the game. The presentation is just god tier.

Aether used to be the one where 'serious' players went who didn't want to be associated with Crystal, the RP server
This caused it to be filled with far more shitters compared to Primal, which for the time being is where a higher proportion of more skilled players are at, until people figure this out and start flooding into there

quality of life, attention to detail, and presentation. obviously those aren't all the things i like about it, but those are what make it stand out the most i think. most other mmos manage to turn me off almost immediately with a screen filled with feature bloat and cash shop ads. 14 introduces features steadily and (relatively) clearly as you go, and the cash shop isn't ever mentioned in game. being able to try every class with one character is also a big part, i never feel like i'm locked in to an uninformed decision i made when i first started and i never have to restart from scratch to try something new.

Am I supposed to be using food for expert crafts? I can make hq crafted gear just fine but I'm feeling dubious about making more cunny syrup and bussybaise just for scrips

It should be noted the greater irony of this is that crystal was just a newer, mostly dead dc before they took the heaviest rp worlds off of aether and put them there before SHB dropped
