I hate Blastoise as a starter simply because there are so many great water Pokémon in the game already that it feels like a waste. You don't get contact with fire pokemon until much later in the game, and Venusaur is the best grass pokemon you can have but there still other good ones.

Mu nigga, fucking floored me when I realized Mudkip’s evos were Water/Ground and that I was immune to Electric, I never used him against Grass-types because I had Flying and Bug-types so it wasn’t a problem.
