Falcon is stupid enough to not give Xseed the license to it. Took too long that fans did the translation to it themselves. They were probably expecting Nisa to give them a higher bid for the license.

Now most of the fanbase will pirate it and use fan translation patch instead of buying the game.

There is really nothing that different between the old Falcom games and CS.
Yes I get it, the 3D vs isometric, and the free time events, etc.
Cold Steel is still the same falcom game at heart, people just ramble on and hate it for muh anime tropes, as if the other games didn't have them. They do have them, and they've been there since FC.
The only thing CS does wrong if anything is giving VII too little time to show off the interactions between members, which was the older game's strong points due to a more close knit and smaller party size.
I like Rean and his story, and enjoy his POV and interactions with the members, but it needed to show more chemistry between members of the class as a whole.
I feel that it all happened offscreen and they all became friends in the field studies you don't visit in CSI.
Other than that Cold Steel has world building and side NPC story content matching that of the older games, if not more so. And let us not forget Cold Steel's OST is the best in the series by miles.
Gameplay wise CS literally improves everything so much it isn't fucking funny. I can't even play older games without getting mad at sepith lines, lack of link attacks, and quartz giving negative stats like wind being useless due to -ATS, yet mandatory for AoE arts.
Cold steel improves on the gameplay so much it's not even funny, and the old games crafts were so dogshit that it was literally spam arts to win with the occasional s-break. Cold Steel's crafts focus was the correct direction.

What's the appeal of these anime movies actually? Sure, the girls are cute but the gameplay sucks, combat system is generally button mash shit, the animations are like from PS1 era, the maps are just empty halls or corridoors, and the story is Naruto-tier. Despite all these, these games are like $60 which is way too expensive for what they offer. You'd be better off playing Ubishit open world games or Cowadoody because at least those games have gameplay. I mean, if you buy the games because your dick dictactes so, just go to any booru and search for the characters' images.

I already played the game, the translation was more than playable, but the nice sprites and the translation quality seem to be much better, i'll probably replay it, but yeah the wait definitly wasn't worth it.
