This is probably the best remake of any game out there, I can't think of any that comes close. It's leagues ahead of the Silent Hill HD "remaster", anyway. Yeah, it's not perfect, but it's certainly not bad. The results are kind of disappointing for the wait and it took them so long that the graphics are dated again, but overall I still enjoyed the shit out of it, and mods will make up for its shortcomings. The only thing that pisses me off is that they made everything else more realistic except for the gunplay. Makes no sense. You should probably kys.

i have some things to criticise
-Music is overused in places when it's not necessary
-Enemy animations dont flow all that well making them look like they "stop and start"
-In Lambda Core it can be a bit confusing where you are supposed to go (this may just be my retardation)
-The Gonarch fight dragged on *just* a bit too long
-Interloper is still shit with all those conveyor belts
Overall i'm quite happy with what we got and the one thing that i'll praise them and say they did better than any HL game before Is that you actually get to see how the invasion escalates, you could before but it felt detached and isolated (this is mostly because its not a 20+ years old game and you can now render more that one helicopter in the background) they handled that really well

Yes, I usually agree, retaining the gameplay is critical although I personally would say the overly fast pace and cheap feel of the gunplay is akin to keeping tank controls in games like Resident Evil. I'd much rather do without. Mods can remedy it at least. I like fast gunplay but it's just weird to me to see grunts move so unbelievably quick. Then again, they're also wearing rare as fuck camo, respirator lenses, and rocking MP5s with grenade launchers attached... it was such a mindfuck to discover all of these things weren't just completely made up BS though.

Games looks great. Some of the gameplay changes/setpieces are hit or miss.
The only aesthetic choice I didn't like was using Earth looking fauna in some parts of Xen. Xen is beautiful for the most part but they really should've further pushed that "dimensional hellscape" feel.
