Has there been any worthwhile lore created after morrowind?
The lore explanation for the restoration of stats, builds, starsigns, specialization, roleplaying, actual non-randomized quests, and dungeons that aren't straight lines leading to a back door.
You can’t play as a dwarf so all elder scrolls are shit
NEW ENGINE LORE
I was thinking the other day about how Skyrim provides you with dozens of interesting abilities to find in the world in the form of shouts but has no dungeons that make use of this in any meaningful way.
Who the fuck cares about Betheshit? Goddamn. You already know it's gonna be a buggy, half-finished piece of shit. Take your marketing shit elsewhere.
What do we know about it so far?
Because I want some light shed on the Dwemer, but not too much - the mystery is what makes them interesting.
They should just bring MK back, feed him psychedelics and then put him in front of a typewriter.
Nothing, it'll be shit regardless seeing how incompetent Bethesda are now.
>YOKUDA
>SITHIS
Dwemer are Numidium’s skin
>actually plays dwarves
holy shit
Comparatively? No. Oblivion, despite how much it shit on the series in general, did give us some good lorebooks like the Songs if Pelinal and Remanada in particular.
Skyrim really has nothing going for it, albeit having a slightly more atmospheric setting.
Despite Skyrim being generic it at least respects the lore. You can find references to the weirder Skyrim lore in the game even if it’s just a throwaway line or extremely watered down. For example, I’m pretty sure it’s the first game to acknowledge Kalpas and has elements from MK’s Aldudagga stuff. Would I rather it lean into its stranger roots and embrace the weirder Morrowind era Nords? Absolutely. Unfortunately that’s not the one we got but I’ll take Skyrim over Oblivion’s complete disregard of the lore any day.
They touched the Heart of Lorkhan and vanished. I don't think we will get more than that.
So where will it be set?
The biggest theory is either High Rock or Hammerfell, mostly because places like Elsweyr or Black March are too "weird" for marketing.
I keep forgetting the lore and it frustrates me that I can't discuss it
I
its probably the best for your sanity anyway
it's going to be all of tamriel with a few other planes added as dlc.
That just screams" wide as an ocean deep as a puddle"
So fitting with Bethesda’s recent history
Where the fuck did “too weird” come from? Why can’t normies handle anything that isn’t generic Tolkien fantasy?
Its incredible how a setting this good is wasted on a developer this incompetent.
but i thought Black Marsh was literally just Mayan empire but lizards and Elsweyr was Thailand but with cats.
The lore is gonna be white people "imperials" slaving blacks "redguards".
That's uninspired ESO trash that Bethesda can easily overwrite. I mean it's so fucking stupid; ESO just ripped the Aztec Argonians from Warhammer but somehow made them even more boring.
Its not that the "normies" can't handle it. Hell I would even argue that the Khajiit and the Argonians are one of the more popular races in the setting amid "causal players" due to the eccentric way they are characterized.
Its what the higher ups and bean counters at Bethesda and Zenimax think the "causual players" would like, which often strongly deviates from reality.
They should skip the whole "every land need a real world equivalent" thing, it feels so banal.
>Skyrim respects the lore
Exactly. Unfortunately, Beth's team is made up of unimaginative incompetents.
Limitations of Bethesda's lack of competence and GAMEBRYO
Fuck the Dwemer, what the fuck is left to know about them?
Give me Sloads or actual underused not playable races instead
todd lore
>Why can’t normies handle anything that isn’t generic Tolkien fantasy?
They can. FF7 is a mishmash of anachronistic punk/fantasy, Persona 5 is urban Japan with weird metaphysical shit on top, even Fallout 3 was novel by mainstream tastes for its time.
Bethesda's internal attitude is that shit's too weird, but sales are 90% marketing so it's total bullshit like most of their attitudes.
Dude
Just Chiim
I’m genuinely interested to see what new lies he concocts.
With e3 canceled this year he has more time to make up new honeyed words for the next time.
Didnt bethesda reveal shit at the microsoft show last year? Maybe it wont be cancelled
Todd is not on a schedule. He announces TESVI precisely when he means to. He doesn't need a shitty conference.
There was this big rumor post. I guess its smart to assume its bs because it actually sounds interesting and something the old ES fans would actually want.

The entire Thalmor arc should lead into some kind of "return" of the Ayleids and them being basically Resident Evil Nemesis tier enemies who are creepy as fuck and hunting you down like cenobytes
>doesn't specify what part of the post he takes issue with
>only contribution is le whacky reaction image
you have to go back
Please fire everyone on Beth’s writing staff, starting with Emil Pagliarulo.
Yes.
The guy that did all the weird shit got fired. They have improved a great deal since they cut him loose.
A note to MK having something weird fuck something weirder can work if you use it once. Moderation is what you are looking for you hack.
>fire
>emil
user come on now, after the butchering he did to tes firing is way too easy. this man needs to be arrested for that shit.
He got demoted I thought. He's no longer head writer.
Fallout 4 actually does have a lot better writing than Fo3 and Skyrim. It doesnt say all that much but at least it's in the right direction.
They took away the lead writer job because he is being groomed as Todds replacement.
Does it? I stopped playing after like 9 hours. I'm not surprised if no one could tell the how good the quality of writing was behind the
>yes
>sarcastic yes
>exposition before I say yes
>no (I'll say yes later)

The cliffracerborn comes to save Hammerfell from the newly resurrected cliffracers as Alduin returns as a cliffracer. All deities are now revealed to be just emanations of Fargoth.
Anti-MK fags are worse than MK fags. Kirkbride does have a tendency to make verbal diarrhea but at least Todd could reign him in. Anti-MK fags are determined to turn the setting into Lord of the Rings just to spite anyone who wants the setting to just be a little bit weirder.
nords are not depicted accurately, for one. City sizes are also a joke.
hopefully arsemoor is banned from modding
he already selfbanned himself because ORANGE MAN BAD
No, that was the civil war guy. Arthmoor is the nutcase that threatens to sue people for making his patch work for Skyrim VR.
It will be Hammerfell + Hammerfell is an extremely weird place, it has nothing in common with your usual Tolkien-like fantasy.
Nords were heavily imperialized in 200 years and some NPCs still worship the old gods. It's a shitty cop out but it's not an ass pull like most thing's in Oblivion. They're are hints to their old traditions represented but I agree it could've been done better especially with Ulfric. His Nord nationalist movement should've included going back to the old ways along with Talos worship. He could've even capitalized on Alduin's return. "The damn Imperials stopped us from praying to keep Alduin asleep and now he returns to eat the world!" City sizes are due to gamebryo
>anyone who wants the setting to just be a little bit weirder
That would be fine if the "weird" resulted in interesting settings or stories, but it doesn't, it just reads like bad fanfic without the smut.
>City sizes are due to gamebryo
Enderal made a better looking city
You're focusing too much on Vivec's degeneracy stuff and not thing's like Cyrus' meeting with Tiber Septim and the Seven fights on the Aldudagga
>it just reads like bad fanfic without the smut.
To be fair, with MK it would read like bad fanfic with the smut.
Breton cuisine school
The series is always hinting at how terrifying the Ayleids are. The Thalmor are a direct ticket to opening up their lore
would be kino
anything not done by bethesda
>the Ayleids
Weren't they present int ESO in a bunch of missions?
Them and the Maomer I think.
