E3 2020 has officially been canceled. The ESA, which is responsible for putting on the annual convention, shared the news today following several reports, including GameSpot's, that such an announcement was imminent.
"After careful consultation with our member companies regarding the health and safety of everyone in our industry--our fans, our employees, our exhibitors and our longtime E3 partners--we have made the difficult decision to cancel E3 2020, scheduled for June 9-11 in Los Angeles," the ESA said in a statement.
I have been watching it for the last three years only for the memes. Highlight of the year to be honest. Now cancelled. Im not gonna say, it stings, but yeah...

Honestly, probably the best thing that could have happened to them this year. Everyone was all poised to shit on the influencer bullshit and the rest of the nonsense, but now they have an easy and justified out that deflates all of that in advance, and then next year they'll all be thirsty enough for new advertisements that they'll fall back in line.
I could see this saving them from their slide into irrelevancy, at least in the medium term.
