It was fine. I like the surge more as far as souls clones go but most people can't look past the janky animations. I still haven't played the surge 2.

If they make a code vein sequel with better regular enemies and better map design they could have a winner. Kind of like how nioh 2 seems to have improved on a lot of aspects compared to the first game.

Well I played both, and yes, LotF might be a 1/10, and CV might be three times the game, but that only makes it a 3/10, and worst than any actual Souls game, Nioh, etc. Absolute dogshit

Was honestly angry at how lazy and terrible the level design was. It’s like they were told the level had the be this many hours long so they just copy and pasted the same shit in their incredibly small unity store asset pack to fill time.

enemies are brain dead, bosses are ok but very samey. they feel like an ok dark souls 2 boss.

Cathedral was the fucking worst, and when I saw footage of how repetitive it was I decided not to buy the game.

Shame because the Cathedral was kino and one of the better levels of the game

Pretty nice game, not amazing, but I still enjoyed it. Genuinely surprised it sold that much. I particularly liked the memory sequences although they should have been a bit faster.

Does this take place in the same setting as GE or was the horror looking like that one Aragami just a coincidence?

I've only played the demo, but I thought it was pretty good. Takes a moment to get used to the gameplay if you're used to dark souls.

Once they made it so the mini map doesn't rotate navigating the cathedral is a lot easier.

Was that an update?. I had more trouble with the enemies than the map. Those fucking invasions.

Hollow Knight, a indie game made by three guys, sold 3 millions.

It really feels to me like the cathedral was supposed to be the last level before the rework or something.
It’s far and away the largest and biggest level, the “unique” teleporting lost there don’t show up anywhere else and are real ballbusters compared to all of the other ones you face later, how much jumping off ledges you have to do to advance where as in all the other areas that was basically reserved for hidden areas, and the bit with Louis’ sister seems really out of place for an area you visit once for 30 seconds.
Plus the general weirdness of your vestige just being plopped there, no one making any sort of reference or mention of you recovering your memories.

i have mixed feelings about this game. it was fun, but it had A LOT more potential. they got lazy with the enemies, the story kinda fell apart at the end, and the level design was fucking awful. The voice acting (japanese), character design, classes, and playstyles were all really cool, even the music was decent.

I havnt played the newer DLC yet but im sure its rather disappointing. I would love it if they used this as a concept piece, made a code vein 2, but this time actually put effort into level/enemy design and variety. I think that with a few other bits of polishing could have it be a legit amazing game. The fact that it would have anime tiddies just makes it better.
