I don't really care at this point. MGS1, 2, and 3 still exist, and are still some of the best games ever. I really don't care about 4 or PSP games, and GZ/5 are still worth a playthrough for the gameplay alone. Death Stranding was excellent too.

I disagree with you on Death Stranding, but you're absolutely right about this part.
Story-wise, it didn't really need to exist, and every time I play it, I just get so annoyed and skip the story.
I just go to free-roam and just LARP as Big Boss when he was Saladin and try to perform random missions whilst sticking to the style of pre-MGS1's era. It reminded me of the 2005 era fan theories on how Big Boss used to operate during his Saladin days, before MGS4 and onwards retconned most of it.
Feels more fun this way, and I gradually started accepting MGSV this way in a weird sort of way.
