Learn the difference between a dead series and a finished series, Xenosaga was a trilogy and had its ending. There is nothing more for Xenosaga and KOS-MOS except for her to remain alive as cameos in other games. Even revealing recent news of a scrapped HD port still makes her relevant either way. Besides Xenosaga would deserve a remake, not a port.
And well, I don't expect to see Morrigan playable in Smash anytime soon, so yeah.

If this was just Namco I'd say her chances were fair. Capitalizing on Xenosaga when the Xenoblade franchise is doing so well makes a lot of fucking sense, and from Nintendo's perspective she's the Xeno series' fan favorite character. It's mutually beneficial and would resonate well with Smash fans.
But Bamco is more Bandai than Namco so they'd rather just pump out a dozen low budget anime games than support a single original IP.
