You realize that a "Chat" system has nothing to do with gaming, right? If anything, it encourages more toxic behavior. Nintendo is doing the right thing by focusing only one games and not including a messaging system anymore. It's the first step towards a healthier gaming environment, one that the other two fail to understand.

Yes it does you nigger idiot. Messaging other players and hitting them up for matches is crucial to multiplayer gaming. Multiplayer games have been the most successful and lucrative games for the past decade.

Giving players the option to talk with their contacts or reject/block requests from people they don't like doesn't encourage toxicity. Other consoles have the feature and it isn't an issue. Grow a brain.

I just want custom themes and calm music, like how the hell does the 3DS have a lot of them but the Switch have none even though they clearly have an option built in the menus but have only used it for a light/dark theme? It's really baffling.

Honestly, did they just say fuck it when it comes to Switch home menu customization? I don't think we've gotten new profile pictures in a long time and even then the variety is fucking awful. 3 years since release and still no themes too. Don't give me that shit about it taking years for the 3DS to get themes either, I see no reason why Switch shouldn't already have them when they were a popular feature on 3DS. They aren't something Nintendo doesn't already know about.

Why? Folders are a PC-centric thing. Nintendo makes CONSOLES, not personal computers. Why do like to manufacture faux outrage?

3DS has top screen which shows nothing, put a wallpaper there is understandable.

If not folders then I want the option to have that grid option be default. It always goes back to the strip after you actually go into a game.

The Switch will NEVER get a browser. They almost certainly got rid of it because their consoles and handhelds always get hacked through browsers. Yeah the Switch is already cracked open but they won't give hackers another way to crack it open.

I have no desire to message anyone on my Switch. I have all of my friends phone numbers, and if we play from our own homes (which honestly rarely happens) we use Discord

Even this would be a significant improvement. I genuinely don't know what they were thinking with this new UI. I figured they would update it as time went on, but it's been three years and it's almost exactly the same.

What would you suggest we use? Skype? The Steam chat? That second one's not that bad, but the mobile app is hot garbage.

You only get to see like 8 games on the main menu, you have to scroll all the way to the right just to see a grid view of all your games, it'd be simpler just to let us either have folders to keep all the games in or have the option for the grid to be the default. Also folders let you organize games based on genre or games that you haven't played yet, it's just nice to have.

Messaging would be nice. All you need to do is set it up so that it's locked behind the Child Lock feature.

Grid or multiple lines and some themes & player icons would be nice. And the option to see how many times you've played and how long you've played it (exact count) for a given game would also be welcome. Switch kinda has it, but it's not as good as the 3DS'.
