Maneater (Killer Shark Game):

I want to talk about the shark game/stealth Jaws Unleashed remake game.It's looking to be the most fun game made in years, a throwback to before open world games like GTAV took themselves so damn seriously.

In Maneater you play as a shark who swears revenge on an evil fisherman after your mother is killed by him. Surprisingly story driven open world shark RPG where your journey as a shark will take you from the Lousiana Swamps to the bays of the big city in pursuit of your quarry.

Much like Jedi Fallen order or a Souls-Like game. You can level up your shark in various ways that will make the gameplay experience completely different from player to player. You can have a Bio-Luminiscence power up that gives you electric eel type powers, while killing your stealth stats. A Bone Armor power up that gives you incredible defense while at the same time killing your speed, and of course the mandatory pre-order power up.

The voice talent for this game is incredible too. They got Jim Cummings to voice the bad guy.

There are also various boss battles that your shark can engage with. Ranging from Hammerheads, to Saltwater Crocodiles, to Orcas.

There are also various other human bosses in addition to the animal ones. Much like GTAV you have to get your infamy meter up to the top of the gauge in order to draw them out and feast on them. . . how do you do that? By eating tourists. Real jaws shit.

I’m looking forward to it. My dad bought me Jaws on PS2 and I played that to death. The graphics were great. I can’t decide which platform to get it on.

I am also excited for all the boss fights and evolution's although I have a feeling they will both be lackluster

I'm a simpleton so i'll have to wait an extra month or two for the switch release because I want to be able to play it on the go.

Yes it did. I forget what exactly it was called though.

They made it a fictional species of Bull Shark so that they could justify the shark fighting in freshwater levels like the Bayou Swamp, or the Inland manmade lake, or the Seaworld style theme park.

The kill animations for that game were super grisly.

I'm just trying to share the game with everyone because it seems coverage for this game is super light vs the forthcoming 'AAA' titles.

Games these days are either super high budget and boring or super cheap and exploitative. This seems like a middle ground.

It recently released a Demo trailer. They were gonna show it at E3 but after that ended up not happening. We got a trailer online instead. Looks pretty good too.

Game seems cool but I'm actually not much of a fan of open-world games. I'll see if the movement and combat look good before getting it.

You can't exactly market a killer shark the way you can Mario or Fallout.

I actually forgot this was coming out soon, I had a lot of fun with the Jaws PS2 game and this looks great too. Once I beat Doom Eternal a few times I'll look this up in a month or so when it is on sale.

Parrying and backstabbing work by the shark using his tailfluke as a weapon to slap the opponent when it dodges you. Aiming it from below to knock the opponent out of the water to stun it. among other things,

GTAV definitely does not take itself that seriously

Looking forward to this, liked Jaws Unleashed and even the peyote plants on GTA V which you could play as various sharks and other sea beasties.

If this is a hit it's possible the creators may expand into other games of this kind. Imagine Maneater: Bear Edition, Maneater: Killer Lion edition, Maneater: Bigfoot edition. The possibilities are endless.

Killing Floor 2 is a soulless monetized husk(hehe) of its former self. Rising Storm 2 is dead with under 1k players and the last update(novermber 2019) was for Green Army Men mod which no one plays. Tripwire got the gay and aren't going back it seems.

To those who played Jaws Unleashed, was it possible to get to the blue whales? That was the only animal I don't remember eating in that game.

I was hoping something like this for the Meg movie as a tie-in game but we never got it.
