There are some double bosses but their health and damage is that of level 1 enemies. By the time you encounter them you’ll be level 100 or so, so they hardly do any damage and are quite slow and easy to separate. In fact, a lot of bosses are 2v1 in your favor (an AI partner that cannot die fighting for you).

I normally hate getting into a series midway but is it safe to do it with Nioh 2 or will I have no idea what's happening? Only asking with this because I know it's a prequel.

no buttload of HP should make a massive slow attack from a giant weapon do pixel tier damage. Nioh 1 wasn't like this.

Is the soldier with the amrita arm considered new? I know the same model was used for the giraffe dudes but he doesnt transform into a giraffe and he has jew attacks. Plus all the old yokai got new moves. Enemy variety does not seem to be a problem anymore.

His running iai was very fast and harder to dodge than his other stuff, his iai spam in general was very annoying especially with how quick he recovered. He also had his "stancce" which had several different followups, including a parry sometimes if you got to cocky trying to hit him during the stance thing. His spirit guardian was also a bitch.

Obsidian Samurai appears to have a larger moveset but a much less scarier one at that. He seems to have the stance thing too (in this case he charges up while his guardian spirit surrounds him) but the followups don't seem as scary. He does have an iai tho that seems as fast as warrior of the west but it's a red aura attack and he very rarely did it.
