I just tried the demo and I thought it was great. Granted, I'm not a big fan of the new art, but it really doesn't look that bad, especially in game. Having the option for the original soundtrack and old style maps really makes the whole experience much better.

I tried the demo and it just sort of threw me in there without really explaining the mechanics or anything so I felt like I was bumbling around. The game felt like one of the very old fire emblems, is that accurate? What's the appeal? I'm interested, but the demo just didn't do a good job hooking me in.

Branching paths with the ability to join different factions, betray allies and see how they react is the main appeal.
Music is nice too.

this series was never about ball busting strategy. its always been about the story music and fun gameplay. if thats not your idea of fun just move along. xf is the shit and i love it for what it is but langrisser is also fun for being something different.
i doubt the difficulty of this remake would surpass nu-fe. i recall there being a higher difficulty option after you beat it once but thats about it. the default difficulty is already easier than the previous games.
