Do yourself a favor and be an autist like me and only use the Sabre.
Games are more fun and then when you switch to using things like the buster/shield/etc you'll feel like you're cheating.
Don't worry about ranks your first time through either. Only Mega-autists can get S-ranks consistently and A-ranks are what most people should really be aiming for once they've beaten the game.
Unless you use save-assist and then you're super ultra baby casual and I'm a little disappointed if you don't get A-ranks at minimum. They are admittedly good for speeding up on learning the bosses behaviors.

Why didn't you just use the Save Assist? That's infinitely better than going casual mode. These games aren't even really hard, it's just the dumb screen crunch that they didn't bother to fix in the collection as well.
